Idahistory Macabre Walking Tour and lunch

A Macabre History of Boise focuses on the spooky, strange, and twisted tales experienced by Boiseans since the city’s establishment in 1863. Boise has often been depicted as a cozy and orderly town where ambitious pioneers prospered despite the isolation of their settlement. This, in many ways, is true. Yet, there are gritty, sordid, and tragic elements to Boise’s past, often stricken from popular historical narratives of Idaho’s capital city. The Macabre History walking tour will take you back to Boise’s formative years by focusing on the darker aspects of its past; it will entertain you while contextualizing Boise’s history through the telling of many separate tales of pimps and prostitutes, shootouts and saloon slayings, murders, ghosts, diseases, quack medicine, and more. Approx. 2 ½ hours of walking/ standing. (not recommended for children under the age of 15) Lunch is included. September 22 October 7 9:30am-2:30pm Depart and Return: Nampa Rec Center $35
