The Harward Recreation Center is a 140,000 square foot indoor facility offering many recreation amenities to the public. Our mission is to provide quality programs and services, be responsive to the citizens, and play an active role in making Nampa a healthy community.
To ensure the safety of our members and visitors, the Harward Recreation Center will enforce all policies and procedures. The Nampa Parks and Rec Department provides accommodations for youth with disabilities to participate in any recreation program. For more information or to setup assistance in advance, please contact the Harward Recreation Center.

Provisions may be made to place dependent children ages 19 through 21 on a family membership. See the HRC Membership Eligibility policy for details. The HRC may ask for proof of legal dependency or a marriage certificate from anyone registering for a family or senior couple membership.

Learn how many calories your body burns in a day to establish a calorie budget, decrease the frequencies of plateaus, and improve your overall fitness with our highly accurate MedGemtm (an indirect calorimeter that measures VO2 and determines Resting Metabolic Rate). FREE Diabetes Prevention Program Information Session
1 in 3 Americans are prediabetic, and 90% of those are not even aware of it. Join us if you would like to learn more about this medical condition, how to manage it if you are already diabetic, determine your risk of developing type 2 diabetes OR looking to lose weight the right way and be healthy! You will learn more about a lifestyle change program (National Diabetes Prevention Program) that will be starting in March that is suitable for ALL individuals looking to lose weight healthfully, prevent chronic disease, and become more active.

Weight Room Age Policy
The weight room is reserved for individuals 15 years and older. Youth ages 13 and 14 may obtain weight room privileges by completing the HRC’s Youth Strength Training Course. The HRC also offers the ZONE for youth between the ages of 10-14 and Functional Training under certain parameters for those as young as 6. Each youth participant must complete an orientation with a trainer and sign a “Youth Training Pledge and Consent” form along with their parent before engaging in training.

The ZONE is a full body workout featuring 9 pieces of strength training equipment specifically engineered for youth ages 10-14. Stop by or call the weight room for more information or to schedule the required orientation.

Youth Functional Training
Improve strength, endurance, balance, coordination and flexibility with real-life movements and age-appropriate exercises. Equipment could include, battle ropes, medicine balls, glides, stability balls, tire and TRX etc. Orientation required, and for youth ages 6-9 a parent must be present during the orientation and for workouts. Youth Strength Training Course
By successfully completing this 4-day course, youth ages 13 and 14 will be granted use of the weight room including the free weights (some restrictions apply). This course will focus on safe, productive training and practical experience. Participants are required to attend the entire class and pass both a written and practical exam. Classes require pre-registration at the Program Desk.

Weight Room Special Assistance
Trainers are available to assist any member needing special assistance due to physical limitations. To request assistance, talk with a trainer.
Balance & Fall Prevention Class
This class will help increase mobility and independence by improving lower body strength, endurance, flexibility, and bone mass, which can help reduce the risk of falling. Class participants must be able to perform the exercises independently. If some assistance is required, contact the Fitness Supervisor for possible options. Class participants may be dropped from session if they have not attended during the first 3 classes to allow customers on the wait list to join. Medical clearance required.

Kids in Action Day Camp-(KIA)
The Harward Rec Center Kids in Action Day Camp program is a great way to keep your kids active when school is out. Kids in Action is an out of school program for kids that provides a structured environment where kids can engage in a variety of supervised activities. These programs aim to support academic growth, recreational opportunities, and foster social development. Kids in Action counselors are members of our local community who provide a fun and safe environment for all kids.
Activities include swimming (on full days), rock climbing, arts and crafts, sports games, STEM activities, trips to the park (on full days), outdoor games such as kickball, dodgeball and chalk art, access to our Youth Activity Center where they can play foosball, air hockey, Mario Kart, and more.
Kids in Action is a flexible program where children can be signed up the day before attending. And if you cancel by 7pm the day before registration you can receive a credit to use for another day. Please note that a $5 late fee will be incurred if payment for your child is not received by the end of the day of attendance. Call 208-468-5858 for more information.

Safe Sitter® Essentials
Safe Sitter® prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. Safe Sitter® courses are instructor led and interactive, with hands-on demonstrations and skills. Please bring a sack lunch.

Wonders Workshop

Monthly tuition is due by the 1st of each month. Payment can be taken at the Program Desk. A late fee will be assessed for payments received after the 5th of the month. Your child will be dropped from the class if your account reaches two months outstanding. Notification must be given to the Program Desk if you’re unenrolling your child from the program.

WINGS Gymnastics
Gymnastics is a great physical foundation for kids of all ages that helps develop strength, coordination, physical fitness, and self-esteem. It will help prepare children for participation in all kinds of sports. Our instructors will help guide children in a positive atmosphere that helps develop their skills and self- confidence. Each class is designed to teach progressions safely and allows the child to move at their own pace.
For a current class schedule or to register, visit the Rec Center website or stop by the Program Desk. A $10 additional fee will be charged for students who register on or after the 1st of the month. Monthly tuition is due by the 20th of the prior month to guarantee a place in the following month’s class. New student tuition will be prorated. Instructors cannot accept payment. New students receive 50% off their first month!

Nampa Youth Basketball
Sponsored by the Nampa Recreation Department and Toyota and offered in collaboration with the Nampa School District. This program aims to offer young individuals the chance to develop fundamental skills and foster teamwork in a recreational setting. Parents have the opportunity to volunteer as coaches for their child’s team, with children registering to be part of a team. Teams will engage in two 1-hour practices per week (with the exception of Kindergarten and 1st Grade teams, which will have one 45-minute practice). Join us for our E-Sports (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros Ultimate) Nintendo Switch tournament series. This Japanese art teaches momentum and off balancing allowing the student to throw, trip or sweep their opponent to the mats. Red Cross Lifeguard Training
Swim Idaho!
Swim Idaho! is a way for lap swimmers to chart their progress, set goals and conquer those goals. Swimming benchmarks are: 102 miles-the distance of the Boise River, 425 milesthe distance of the Salmon River, 779 miles-the distance of the length and width of Idaho and finally 1,076 milesthe distance of the mighty Snake River. T-shirts are awarded at each Idaho Benchmark. Ask a Lifeguard how to start tracking your laps!
This course is designed for experienced swimmers ages 15 and older that want to become Red Cross Lifeguards. Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications are awarded upon successful completion of the course. Course prerequisites are: 200 yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke, retrieval of a 10 pound brick from 7ft of water and two minutes of treading water with no hands. If you are unsure whether you can complete the prerequisites, sign up for a skills evaluation. Refund request must be made 4 business days before start of class.

Nampa Senior Center
The Senior Center, adjoining the Harward Recreation Center’s east side, is a wonderful place for seniors to enjoy an assortment of fun activities. Dances, card games, and educational workshops are available. See the monthly activity schedule at harwardreccenter.org. Volunteers are always welcome! Contact the Senior Center at (208)467-7266 for details.
Lunch
Daily lunch is served Monday through Friday at 12:00 noon. The public is welcome! You do not need to be a senior to enjoy our lunches and/or other activities.
Fees: 60 years+ $6 suggested donation
Under 60 years $7 charge Transportation to and from the Senior Center is available within its service area. Contact the Senior Center for details. Monthly menus are available online.
Gift Shop & Thrift Shop
Our Gift and Thrift Shops are open in the Senior Center from 10am-12pm & 12:30-2pm, Monday-Friday.

Senior Walking Club
Members 65 years and older earn a free t-shirt by walking at the Harward Recreation Center! Sign up at the weight room desk and chart your progress each day on the log sheet provided. Earn a t-shirt for 100, 500 and 1000 miles.
Harward Rec Center
Balance & Fall Prevention Class
This class will help increase mobility and independence by improving lower body strength, endurance, flexibility, and bone mass, which can help reduce the risk of falling. Class participants must be able to perform the exercises independently. If some assistance is required, contact the Fitness Supervisor for possible options. Class participant may be dropped from session if they have not attended during the first 3 classes to allow customers on the wait list to join. Medical clearance required.

Centennial Golf Course
This 6,700 yard, par 72 course offers generous fairways, large greens with various slopes and elevations, bunkers and water hazards. Scenic views of the Treasure Valley with great amenities combined with affordable rates makes Centennial a great place to golf. Centennial is playable for golfers of all abilities and is a great place to bring the entire family for a round of golf and usually the course is playable all year.
Centennial Golf Course has an 18-hole golf course, driving range, practice putting green, short game complex, instruction for individuals or groups, pro shop, clubhouse with snack bar, dining area and outdoor deck.

Ridgecrest Golf Club
Ridgecrest Golf Club has 27 holes of golf with a links-style designed Championship 18-hole course with four sets of tees for golfers of all abilities, and an executive 9-hole course (Wee-9) with five par four’s and four par three’s. Foot Golf
Come out to Ridgecrest Golf Club to experience the hybrid of golf and soccerFoot Golf. The game is played with a soccer ball on the golf course and the goal is to kick it down the course in as few kicks as possible. The game is played with a regulation soccer ball and holes are established on the course so the ball can sink into the hole. Come out and experience the game! Tee Time required. Soccer cleats are not allowed.

Reservations for park facilities are taken up to one year in advance on a first come, first-served basis and receive priority over drop-in groups. Birthday Party Room at HRC
We’ll provide a designated space for 2 hours and a balloon bouquet! Enjoy a variety of activities in our facility for the entire day at a discounted rate. $85 room rental ($30 each additional hour).

Senior Center Dining Hall
The Nampa Senior Center Main Dining Hall seats up to 150 people. Space available Saturdays between 8am-7pm and Sundays between 11am-6pm. Call the Rec Center for additional details and to secure your date. $300 for 4 hours ($75 each additional hour)
Kohlerlawn Cemetery
Kohlerlawn Cemetery is publicly owned and operated by the City of Nampa. The Cemetery is open to visitors each day beginning at dawn and closes each evening at dusk. For burial space fees, opening and closing prices, decoration guidelines and monument setting policies, please visit our website.
Right of Way Tree Planting
This program provides City of Nampa residents help with planting appropriate trees in the Right of Way areas of their property. Two periods each year, spring and fall, provide citizens with an opportunity to participate in this program. For permits and details about specific dates and tree species available, contact the City Forester, Adam Mancini at (208)468-5723, nampaparks.org.
Christmas trees may be dropped o at Kohlerlawn Cemetery. Trees must be free of stands, lights and all ornamentation. Trees will be turned into mulch and used throughout our parks and trails.

Pathways
The City offers miles of existing pathways and trails and has developed a bike and pedestrian master plan that projects for more pathways and trails in the future. Nampa citizens and visitors will enjoy running, walking, in-line skating or bicycling on the Nampa Pathway System. For maps, etiquette and more, visit our website.
