The first month’s fee is prorated. All other payment drafts occur on the 1st of each month. All memberships, and subsequent monthly fees, are subject to annual price increases. Annual price increases, if applicable, take effect on October 1st of each year. Memberships are non-refundable.

Memberships are non-refundable. *To be eligible for a NRC family or senior couple membership the primary member and spouse must be legally married as recognized by the State of Idaho. In addition, only children considered legal dependents ages 18 and under may be included on a family membership. Provisions may be made to place dependent children ages 19 through 21 on a family membership. See the NRC Membership Eligibility policy for details. The NRC may ask for proof of legal dependency or a marriage certificate from anyone registering for a family or senior couple membership.

nampa rec center The Nampa Recreation Center is a 140,000 square foot indoor facility offering many recreation amenities to the public. Our mission is to provide quality programs and services, be responsive to the citizens, and play an active role in making Nampa a healthy community. To ensure the safety of our members and visitors, the Nampa Recreation Center will enforce all policies and procedures. The Nampa Parks and Rec Department provides accommodations for youth with disabilities to participate in any recreation program. For more information or to set-up assistance in advance, please contact the Nampa Recreation Center.

fitness Weight Room Age Policy

The weight room is reserved for individuals 15 years and older. Youth 13 and 14 years old may obtain weight room privileges by completing the NRC’s Youth Strength Training Course. The NRC offers the ZONE for 10-14 year olds and functional training under certain parameters for those as young as 6 years old. Each youth participant must complete an orientation with a trainer and sign a “Youth Training Pledge and Consent” form along with their parent before engaging in training.

The ZONE (Youth Fitness Center)

The ZONE features strength training equipment specifically engineered for youth ages 10-14. Stop by or call the weight room for more information or to schedule an orientation. Member Free, Non-Member $15

Youth Strength Training Course

By successfully completing this 11-hour course, youth ages 13 and 14 years will be granted use of the weight room. This course will focus on safe, productive training and practical experience. Classes are ongoing and require preregistration at the Program Desk. Member $16, Non-Member $55

Weight Room Special Assistance

Trainers are available to assist any member needing special assistance due to physical limitations. To request assistance, talk with a trainer.

Provided by St. Alphonsus Medical of Nampa Registered Dietitians. Providing your child with a variety of positive experiences to help develop self-esteem and prepare them for kindergarten. Teacher bio can be found on our website on the “Staff Directory” page. Registration for new students for the 2017-2018 school year begins Friday, May 5th at 8am.

Monthly tuition is due by the 1st of each month. Payment can be taken at the program desk. A late fee will be assessed for payments received after the 5th of the month. Your child will be dropped from the class if your account reaches 2 months outstanding.

The Nampa Rec Center, Kids in Action day camp program is a great way to keep your kids active when school is out. Kids in Action gets your kids moving in a supervised, safe environment. KIA Summer Program begins June 5. Kids have the opportunity to swim every day, go on field trips each month, and have a different theme each week to explore. They will do crafts, learn new sports, read books, play games, make friends, and spend the summer being active and having fun! The Nampa Rec Center has partnered with Young Rembrandts for this preschool drawing class giving children the necessary skills to draw more complex images. Kids will draw familiar images such as fish, teddy bears, rainbows and cowboys. We’ll concentrate on the skills of drawing and coloring while we develop fine motor skills, focus, listening, and staying on task. All materials are provided. Elementary Drawing Class

Sponsored by Pepsi This recreation program is designed to promote participation, development of fundamental skills and fun in a mildly-competitive environment. Practices and games will be held at Skyview Park. All players will receive a T-shirt, cap, certificate of participation and a medal. Players must meet the minimum age requirement on or before June 5, 2017. Programs begin with daily practices (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thur for T-ball) until the season starts. Once the season begins, games will be played 2-3 days a week, with no further practices scheduled. Volunteer coaches are always needed!

Children will learn basic baseball and softball skills such as throwing, catching and batting, in a fun and supportive environment. Sponsored by Tom Scott Toyota and Idaho Central Credit Union Ready! Set! Participate! in the Nampa Rec Department’s Kids Triathlon! This fun and challenging event is for kids ages 6-13 and will include swimming, biking and running. The 3-event race not only promotes fitness but improves your child’s self-confidence as they cross the finish line on their own. A great introduction to the sport, participants will swim in Lincoln Pool, followed by a safe bike and run on roads and grounds of Lions Park. All participants will receive an event bag and all finishers will receive a t-shirt. Traditions Tang Soo Do

This class teaches self confidence, builds self-esteem and improves balance, while establishing discipline and courtesy towards others. Participants will learn age appropriate self-defense and weapons training. These classes are non-violent; sparring is optional.

The Nampa Rec Center houses five swimming pools for your exercise and recreational enjoyment. Programs consist of swimming lessons, aquatic safety classes, water aerobics and kayaking. Enjoy access to the Lap Pool, Rec Pool, Deep Pool, and Kids Pool. Open swim times will offer recreational play in pools of different sizes and temperatures. Pools may have limited availability, ask a lifeguard for more info.

Adaptive Swim Lessons

Our Adaptive Swim Lesson Program is for children and adults with special needs that may not be met through traditional swim lessons. Swim Idaho!

Swim Idaho! is a way for lap swimmers to chart their progress, set goals and conquer those goals. Swimming benchmarks are: 102 miles the distance of the Boise River, 425 miles the distance of the Salmon River, 779 miles the distance of the length and width of Idaho and finally 1,076 the distance of the mighty Snake River. T-shirts are awarded at each Idaho Bench Mark. Ask a Lifeguard how to start tracking your laps!

Open Scout Night

Are you a scout that needs to pass your Merit Badge Swim Test? Come to our open scout night to complete your requirements. Scouts are responsible for bringing sign off requirements and paperwork. Open Kayaking

The Nampa Recreation Center Lap Pool will be available on Wednesdays from 7:15pm-9pm for open kayaking. Due to limited space, reservations are recommended. American Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification

American Red Cross requirements for recertification are completion of a 12hour review course prior to your current certification’s expiration. Participants will be refreshed in their lifesaving, CPR/ AED, and first aid skills, and provided instruction in the most up-to-date skills and techniques. Red Cross no longer offers challenge courses. Must possess a current lifeguard manual for the first day of class, books are not provided. W.S.I. Water Safety Instructor Course

This American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course demonstrates how to teach Red Cross swimming lessons and set up lesson plans. If you have a desire to become a swimming instructor, then this is the perfect class for you. Course prerequisites are 25 yards in the following 6 strokes: front crawl, backcrawl, breaststroke, butterfly, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke. If you are unsure whether you can complete the prerequisites, sign up for a skills evaluation. Refund request must be made 4 business days before start of class. Learn what it takes to be a lifeguard, such as recognizing a drowning victim, how to assist someone who is struggling in the water and how to perform CPR and First Aid. You must be 11-14 years old and be able to swim 25 yards front crawl and 25 yards breaststroke as well as tread water for one minute and float for 30 seconds on your back. Beginning Digital Photography

During this course, participants will learn the basics behind digital photography. Pickleball Lessons

Pickleball is a combination of badminton, tennis and ping pong. It can be played indoor or outdoor on a badminton size court using a whiffle ball and composite paddle. Nampa Senior Center

The Nampa Senior Center, adjoining the Nampa Recreation Center’s east side, is a wonderful place for seniors to enjoy an assortment of fun activities. Dances, card games, and educational workshops are all available! See monthly activity schedules at www.nampareccenter.org. Volunteers are always welcome! Contact the Senior Center at 467-7266 for details.

Lunch

Daily lunch is served Monday through Friday at 12:00 noon. The public is welcome! You do not need to be a senior to enjoy our lunches and/or other activities. Fees: 60+ $5 suggested donation; under 60yrs $6 charge. Transportation to and from the Senior Center is available within its service area. Contact the Senior Center for details. Gift Shop & Thrift Shop

Our Gift and Thrift Shops are open in the Senior Center from 10am-12:00pm & 12:30pm- 2pm, Monday through Friday.

Come out to Ridgecrest Golf Club to experience the new hybrid of golf and soccer-Foot Golf. The game is played with a soccer ball on the golf course and the goal is to kick it down the course in as few kicks as possible. Kohlerlawn Cemetery is publicly owned and operated by the City of Nampa. The Cemetery is open to visitors each day beginning at dawn and closes each evening at dusk.
