This class teaches self confidence, builds self-esteem and improves balance, while establishing discipline and courtesy towards others. Participants will learn age appropriate self-defense and weapons training. Please note that this class can be intense at times due to the nature of the activity and requires a relatively high level of focus and self-discipline. These classes are non-violent; sparring is optional.

Clothing and Equipment

Students should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants and a t-shirt. No jewelry or watches during class. A mouth guard and a groin protector cup (males) are recommended. Ages 13 & up Mondays & Wednesdays 7-8pm Harward Rec Center Member $30/month Non-Member $35/month $5 late fee applies on the first of the month

Tai Chi Classes

The beginning class covers the fundamentals of Tai Chi including: basic movements, breathing, meditation, warm-up form and an introduction on the Yang Style Short form. The intermediate class continues with movements, breathing, meditation, the Yang Short form, Yang Long form and an introduction to push hands (Tai Chi sparring). Beginning: 6:30-7:30pm Intermediate: 7-8:30pm Harward Rec Center Member $25/month Non-Member $30/month $5 late fee applies on the 1st of the month

at the harward rec center This event features a ½ mile swim, 10-mile ride on an upright, stationary bike and 4 mile run on the indoor track. Space is limited so register early. Registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable after January 28th. Minimum age 13 years. To maintain appropriate physical distancing during the event, please keep spectators to a minimum. Bikes and lap lanes will be randomly drawn - 1 athlete from each heat may swim in an end lane.
