sensory catalyst
Let's daydream in architecture. This book explores the daydream-like fun that may occur in daily life. Those colors, textures, and paintings can trigger our senses and emotions that make us feel about things. I believe that the essence of architecture is to move people's hearts, and creativity can make us live.

Iridescent: showing many bright colours that change with movement.
Little girl rediscovers herself with colorful shadows on the wall. She seemed to find something different in red, green, and blue light. It’s fun to make various surprising shapes by these colors. Because of color overlapping, something are emphasized and something are faded. There are even unexpected results and strange shapes that only need to overlap through different things.
I will associate with this creative
and vibrant color picture through color research and experience that can really realize in architecture.

There are many colored shadows overlapping in the initail image. It's like every part of our lives has a different color, because of time passing, something you forgot, and something you rememberred deeply.
In my design,each color space
defines a different age group. You can imagine that you are the littile red guy in the notation, as you grow older you will stay in spaces of different colors. When you are a child, teenager, adult, or even bringing your own child back to this space, you can feel the passage of your life time through light, holes, and atmosphere. Eventually, different colors of thoughts meet in the white blank space, causing reflection. People's vision and hobbies varie with age, but I want you remember how you saw the world as a child or teenager.

< studying model A >
First, I study the rules of light and think about how color light is used in physical space. So I made the studying model A to explain the direction and blend of light. Red light plus blue light becomes purple light. Red light, blue light, and purple light add to white light. Moreover, the direction of the light affects the different places where it can blend. Next, I want to place the blended space in the center of the space (white light) so I made the studying model B. I think about the light transmission and shielding properties applied in space.

< studying model D > This model I want to present the soft nature of overlapping light, so I use the distance gap and the material to create a fused facade. I want people can feel it from a distance.
< studying model E > According to my program definition in the time bookstore, people at different stages are in different colors of space. So I tried to make a model that corresponds to my concept, it looks clear and people can easily find the space they want to go.
< studying model F > < studying model C > I believe how to place color space and white blank space is worth discussing. I think about how to make
Then I encountered a serious problem: in the studying model E,the spaces of different colors do not seem to blend, they look like individual colored rooms and there is no intersection. So I rethink the meaning of color in the time bookstore. I find that the overlapping of different colors (people at different stages) and the creation of atmosphere are important.

IRIDESCENT < The essence of Iridescent > in the white blank space.
Although you have gone through life of age, from five, ten, eighteen, thirty, all the way to old age. Mean at the same time, you go through red, yellow, green, blue, and all the way to color. Just like the light of different colors overlaps and finally appears white. You have overlapped in different stages, and your essence is still the same. This white blank space is a thought-provoking place, the essence of time bookstore. 29

Episode: one of the single parts into which a story is divided.
World affairs change with the elapse of time. Time sometimes seems to be paused, recorded and visualized.
In the comics,
the events are recorded with different segmental images. Each segment conveys different scenes, angles, and motions, and it shows us strong emotions at that time. Finally, you need to merges them into one to learn the whole story. Whether children or adults love to read comics, I think comics are a more imaginative transmission medium. The point is that there are many blank spaces in the comics, and each picture is a fragment. Although the picture is separate, it is storytelling and powerful.

How can we feel Episode in architecture? Maybe it ’s like walking into a comic book and enjoying the funny scenes. I think the feature of the episode in the comic is the frame, and the continuity of the story. But unlike comic books, architecture is dynamic. The natural environment and the rising sun give us the most beautiful painting. Therefore, I drew strong comic lines to divide the space, and designed different themes to let people experience the comic-style house when walking inside.
35
< E piso de > NOTATION
As mentioned on the previous page, I think the comic book style concept in architecture is dynamic. Because the architecture contains the natural environment and the characteristics of the site. The building affects the external environment, and the outside also profoundly affects the interior. Therefore, I designed four themes in this building. From left to right in the notation are dots, external reflections, stripes and natural tree shadows. I use strong comic lines to divide the space. And each space has a completely different atmosphere. Under the sunlight, people can go back and forth in the space, like walking in a comic book.

39
How do you feel the rising sun and the sunset?
The sun shines on the ground,
creating bright and dark sides. When light meets the architectural textures, it creates interesting dynamic patterns. These patterns are not only beautiful, they become a medium for perceiving light and nature. L i k e g o r g e o u s s t a g e shows, these amazing performances are held every day. T h e r e f o r e , I w a n t to create a comic house where we can enjoy nature performances simply.

< Site > Park at the junction of Tamsui Zhongzheng Road and Lane 15 of Zhongzheng Road. The site position is next to the square, children’s playground,Tamsui River viewing platform, and under the big tree.
This theme is a natural tree shadow experience space. People can observe the tree at close distance at a high height, and experience the fantasy of intertwining the tree and the light.
43
This theme is about the sky. Use the wall to create a pure space to feel the change of the sky. Soft natural materials stand under the sky. The mirror reflects the blue and tree shadows in the white box. As the wind disturbed, the shadow trembled. T h i s w i l l m a k e y o u t h i n k that the sky has something new besides the flow of clouds.

Silhouette: a dark shape seen against a light surface.
Everyone is independent, coming and going on the street. Shadows reflect the pavement, forming large and small patterns and changing over time.
Because
of
shadows,we can see people briefly merge and separate, just like a microcosm of world change or movie playing every day. The texture of this painting is very special. The overall background (city), mid-range (building), close-range (human sea) and landscape (shadow and ground) are combined and integrated into one. Different objects are composed of the same texture. But we can still feel the contrast between static buildings and moving people.

< S ilh o u e t t e > NOTATION
Silhouette is a story, telling the life of people and city. But only when you notice this thing, you can feel the story of life. Therefore, my design focuses on creating filters and atmosphere to make people feel the little stories that happened between you and us and the city. In my notation, I actually paste the appearance of the site and the noisy scene of people and vehicles. I designed the theme of silhouette theater, it is a catalyst for people to feel. When you finish watching the movie in the theater, you come out and see the hustle and bustle of the city. Some people rush and some wait. You will associate the movie you have seen with the real city. Natural light, shadow and artificial neon lights overlap each other. Under the influence of architectural filters, Everything is reflected and becomes a painting, a story or a movie.
54
55
< Site > Site is located in Xinyi District, Taipei City, one of the most prosperous cities in Taiwan. Most people's impression of Taipei is the 101 building, many high-rise buildings, shining neon lights, noisy traffic and convenient MRT, etc.

57
The solid and transparent interface is like creating a different scene in a movie. There is an interesting relationship between seeing and being seen.
58
The overall volume is linear and long. When walking on the corridor, the sight range can be accurately regulated. Go to the next corner to discover a new space.
The silhouette makes people feel because it has a rugged curve that can associate with many things.
The figure of
the person is uneven, and the plants are also irregular shapes. When the sunlight hits the rough surface, it will produce a more rugged shadow shape. It will make people mistakenly think that they have a combination with the environment and architecture. This interesting phenomenon can be interpreted as the central idea of silhouette. 59
The main concept of the building volume is divided into outer-inner-outer spaces. These four layers become the filter of the film. Both colored light and natural light can be reflected in it.
In order to create life as a silhouette. I made speed comparison. The silhouette theater is in the middle of the building, with open walkways on both sides.
The initial concept of the silhouette theater is believed that office workers often ignore the beauty of the city when commuting. People stop and walk in the city. Between the inside and the outside, always in a hurry.
Silhouette theater is not a pure theater. When you watch a movie inside, you will be disturbed by deliberate arrangements. For example, the reflection of light, the wind of the bicycle riding, the noise of the traffic and the sight of people.

Silhouette is a story, telling the life of people and city. City people are busy every day, rush but real. They do something conscious and unconscious. They go up and down, back and forth.
64
Within fast and slow, their shilouette just like rhythms. Every step creates reflection and interesting image. Because of silhouette, people and city have a further connection. 65

< Re v e rie > INITAIL IMAGE Reverie: a state of having pleasant dreamlike thoughts.
Like sleepwalking,it’s a unreal but fantasy journey. You may be hung or supported by tiny things, and everything becomes possible. It ’s like flying through space in search of the next adventure. Space is no longer limited, but an extension of sky and earth. But reverie is a daydream, which is different from dreaming. It is an idea based on reality, which is produced for happiness. As in the initial image, girls, flying birds and hemp ropes are all real things. But in reality, flying few birds cannot support the weight of girl. But just because we want to pursue the possibility of dreams, we can imagine interesting processes and developments.

I focuse on having a strong
connection with the site. Residents can drill into the building from obscure doorways and experience the real to unreal process step by step. When they gradually go up, they can see these fantasy spaces. ( vertical in notation: narrow→reflection→large...→sky ) Or they can enter the unreal fantasy space in the extension of daily life. This site is closely connected to the surrounding community and has a rich history. This building was built around 1931, and it is a great restaurant for singing and dancing. Around 1944, the Japanese government compulsorily collected it as a Japanese sergeant club (similar to the comfort station). This building was renamed several times. Nowadays, this place is a ruin and popular place for tourist.

Let's keep dreaming. The first two projects were designed reverie with childlike imagination, while the last two were reverie built on reality. I'm getting deeper and deeper in the process of dreaming in architecture. Designing this book allows me to find my own characteristics.
