Inspiration for the collection of Spring/Summer 2011 was drawn from the 1960s/70s a time of LSD and peace..
The free spirited opened the doors for this hippie way of life, allowing themseleves to complete enjoy vivid trips.
Both the digital prints are a representation of psychedelic art work. Loud, stimulating, chaotic. Printed on silk & canvas.
The ‘Dome’ dress created to give disillusion for the view this is created by the panels and print placement.
The idea and pattern of this cape is quite simple but what creates the fall at the back is the correct placement of the armhole.
The pattern of the cape is designed from 8 half circles. ‘Blanket stitch’ works its way around the outer edge and armwholes.
Experimenting the different ways the cape can be worn and placements of the closure. Pattern created from draping on the stand.
Construction of the plastic bracelet: Heated, folded and molded.
Beginning with one basic stretch top, slashing and cutting to create shapes and forms.
Development & process of the two stretch long sleeve tops.
PURITANS 1ST SEMESTER THIRD YEAR
Colour blocking is apparent; warm chocolate brown, red and duck egg blue.
Silhouettes drawn from the time of purity and innocence.
Autumn / Winter collection. Layering for warmth, soft fabrics for comfort...
This collection was stretchy & loose and gave the wear opportunity to mix & match.. Top & vest draped, trousers flat pattern cutting.
INDIAN SUMMER SECOND YEAR
An Indian inspired collection is made up of tones of yellow and gold. Inspiration is drawn from renowned Indian architecture.
Both signature and commercial garments made with silks, wools and mesh like fabrics.
THE IT GIRL SECOND YEAR
Project guide lines included: fabric manipulation, one colour, two bodies, day to night based on a subculture.
Over sized collars, cut outs & wraps inspired by the trends running through Fall2009.
