The Spring/Summer 2013 collection from House of Herlihy is inspired by architectural elements of French colonial buildings in India, and the bright colours of the Holi Festival. The Holi Festival is also known as the Festival of Colours, and is celebrated by people throwing of perfumed and coloured powder at one another. The Holi festival is also well known for bridging the gaps between social classes, age, gender and caste and the loosening of strictness and social structures. This is well reflected in the collection, which is based on the lasting connection between France and India, and exudes colour and joy. The atmosphere of the Holi Festival is filled with excitement, fun and joy, and the Spring/Summer 2013 collection from House of Herlihy reflects this through the prints and colours of the garments.
