Observing small sections of garments for pattern research, which corresponded with the selected colour theme for this project. With the use of Adobe Illustrator, the patterns have been transformed into a potential garment or collection.

After much development with colour, texture and pattern; three outfits were selected for the final collection and presented firstly as ‘flat’ designs. The six selected garments were interesting and worked well together given their unique style.

FASHION TREND RESEARCH Choose a trend and design three looks based on trend research. Trends do not have to be Fashion related, but must produce a collection. This project is based on the current skateboarding trend that has went on to inspire a sportswear collection.

URBAN MOVEMENT

Urban Movement is inspired by the travelling teen craze, incorporating vibrant decks and the rustic city and scraped skateboards. A contemporary trend collaborated with an on-going and advancing leisure pursuit

This collection development is using a print fabric and mesh. The fabric is stretch, but the mesh allows air to pass through.

‘Galaxy’ has no age limit, but it cannot be denied that it has become a popular print amongst younger generations. By incorporating this into a collection, it clearly targets a specific age group.

With a collection comes consideration of potential graphics. By shortening ‘Urban Movement’ to UM, this has been branded onto items to help promote and label UM products. On the hoodie, there is a logo on the back of the garment which not only labels the product, but it promotes this product. If someone was to wear this hoodie in a gym, or casually in public, people would be made aware of this brand.

Other branded items include a postage box for those ordering products online, a clothing tag to view the price and barcode for an item of clothing and an deodorant bottle as this is a sportswear trend.

Considering approproate accessories for this trend would include a UM barrel bag, trainers, a watch, a cap and UM undergarnemts; all following the same theme to clearly show they are accessories specifically for the UM trend.
