I want to stick to analogue drawing processes this year because I have learnt from experience that I really struggle with the process of drawing digitally, especially with vectors. Avoiding this will Rationale allow me to develop my drawing skills further and start to really understand how I work best. Focusing on ink as my primary medium, I hope to experiment with techniques and tools. I need to develop my Photoshop skills for editing scanned imagery created with analogue processes as I tend to use Photoshop t arrange my compositions and piece my images together from separately drawn components. This will allow me to produce professional quality outcomes effectively. I also have a strong interest in pattern and learning how to create repeating designs digitally. I need to be making high quality outcomes that are presented professionally because I need a strong portfolio behind me for when I leave my final year of formal education. This means I will be able to enter the working world with a clear collection of work which really highlights what I am good at and shows it contextualized in a professional format. Uncompleted Briefs YCN UK Greetings Not completed due to this being quite a substantial brief and not having enough time to do it. YCN Roald Dahl I started but did not completed due to the brief’s focus on character design which is not one of my strongpoints. Penguin Random House – Adrian Mole Did not complete this due to spending more time on the To Kill A Mockingbird design than I had expected and therefore not leaving myself enough time to complete this brief in time for the deadline. Batsford Prize I am disappointed I didn’t complete this brief because it does suit the subjects I am interested in. Other briefs were taking priority for me during the lead up to the deadline for this which explains why I did not complete it.
