UNIVERSITY OF WESTMINSTER INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION 2015-2016
‘A collective challenge to transform 100 disused public spaces by the first anniversary of The Clean India Mission’.
The University of Westminster international design competition 2015-2016 is a unique opportunity for undergraduate architecture students of the SAARC region to be part of a design competition where every participant will be a winner and every entry has the potential to make a positive difference. The competition is your chance as designers and creators to make ‘Massive Small’ changes in your neighbourhoods and cities. Through exhibitions, publications & social media, we will showcase your works to inspire young designers, globally.
‘Swachch Bharat Mission’ was launched by the Prime Minister of India on the 2nd of October 2014, on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Some of the key objectives of the mission include spreading awareness, behavioural change and capacity building towards healthy sanitation practices. The UoW competition is inspired by the wave of citizen participation that the mission has generated. It aims to put design at the heart of these ‘Massive Small’ changes and provide an international platform to share success stories implemented by students.
