Country radio Seminar What not to miss ... “Parents, Teens, and Country Music” Once a format whose primary appeal was thought to be among 35-plus listeners, Country radio and music’s boom over the last decade has been driven by the unprecedented growth of Country as an all-ages format. “Parents, Teens, and Country Music” will combine a survey of Country music listeners who have teenagers at home, a survey of teenagers, and footage from the in-person interviews that have become a highlight of Edison’s CRS presentations. Both groups will be asked about their musical tastes, media usage, and how that usage takes hold with an eye on how parents and teens influence each other. Edison Research will unveil results from a new study during the presentation on Feb. 14 at 3:30.
“Bob Kingsley’s Acoustic Alley” Twelve hit songwriters will take the spotlight during the most anticipated after-hour events, the annual “Bob Kingsley’s Acoustic Alley.” This impressive lineup has amassed numerous #1 singles, CMA Awards, ACMs, Grammys, and millions in sales. Set to perform are Rhett Akins, Chris DeStefano, Chase McGill, Laura Veltz, JT Harding, Luke Laird, Lori McKenna, Brett James, Lee Thomas Miller, Wendell Mobley, Scooter Caruso and Heather Morgan. “Bob Kingsley’s Acoustic Alley” will be held on Thurs, Feb. 14 from 7 pm until midnight in the Legends Ballroom at The Omni in Nashville, Tenn. A CRS badge will be required for admittance.
CRS 50th Anniversary Opening Day Luncheon Opening Day luncheon, hosted by Warner Music Nashville, and includes Devin Dawson, Morgan Evans, Chris Janson, Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde, Cole Swindell along with previously announced Country music superstar Blake Shelton. Look for more additional WMN artists to be announced soon. Blake Shelton will headline the luncheon that kicks-off what is expected to be one of the most celebrated Country Radio Seminars to date. To be held Feb. 13, the Warner Music Nashville luncheon will take place in the Broadway Ballroom (CRS Performance Hall) at Omni Nashville, beginning at Noon.
CRS 50th Anniversary Keynote Presentation: Ken Burns “COUNTRY MUSIC” Documentary Writer/producer, Dayton Duncan of the new eight-part, 16-hour COUNTRY MUSIC documentary that will premiere on PBS this fall, will appear as part of the keynote event. Ken Burns, who directed and co-produced the film with long-time collaborators Duncan and Julie Dunfey, will appear via a taped intro piece, followed by Duncan discussing the film. The keynote event, set for Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m., will offer attendees an exclusive first look at clips with rare footage and interviews conducted over the six years it took to produce the film. Country Radio Seminar Board President, Kurt Johnson will conclude the panel with an overview of how radio can get involved with this landmark event.
Amazon Music Presents: “Country Heat” Amazon Music will host the second annual Amazon Music Presents: “Country Heat” at CRS featuring the Radio Ink PD Awards during this year’s Country Radio Seminar 50th Anniversary event. The two-hour show, powered by Live Nation, will take place Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. at Omni Nashville and will feature performances from an incredible lineup of artists from Amazon Music’s global “Country Heat” playlist, including Zac Brown Band (Zac Brown Collective), Tenille Townes (Columbia Nashville), Adam Hambrick (Buena Vista Records/Capitol Records Nashville), HARDY (Big Loud Records/ Tree Vibez Music), and King Calaway (Stoney Creek Records).
