How can we communicate the change to the people? ‘A game within the urban scenery’ ‘A city inspired by its inhabitants’

ARTIFACT In order to obtain a fundamental source that encourages the procedure of urban change, it is necessary to inform the people of the city about this change, in our case, about the Mobility System regeneration project in the area of Catanzaro Lido situated in Calabria (IT). The current communication proposal concept is the creation of ‘a game within urban scenery’ through the use of postcards.
The postcards work as an open invitation towards citizens, in order to make them experience and describe in an alternative way their city and its paths. Moreover, the postcards’ main idea revolves around the figure of the modern flâneur that guides the people of Catanzaro Lido and motivates them to act, and feel excited about their city, through the performance of certain ‘strange’ activities within the urban fabric that are aimed at provoking emotions and reaction (joy, surprise, interest, curiosity, denial etc.)

Finally, all postcards are collected and projected at the public square on the ‘Experience Map’. On this map, one can observe the opinions, concerns, ideas or thoughts transmitted by citizens, and a city image inspired by its inhabitants who contribute to the change through the use of
