February 8, 2017 Contact: Ellen Topp Director of Communications University of California, Berkeley (510) 599-7102 MEDIA ADVISORY: UCB Chancellor to Hold News Conference Regarding Demonstrators WHAT: The University of California, Berkeley will hold a news conference to lay out a plan in the wake of some student’s backlash to the scheduled appearance of guest speaker, Milo Yiannopoulos. Mr. Yiannopoulos, an editor at Breitbart News, was scheduled to speak to the student body on Tuesday evening. But, after the recent and violent protests, that speech has been cancelled until further notice. UCB Chancellor Nicholas Dirks will address the media to discuss further action pertaining to the demonstrators and the speech.
