Exhibition & Conference - 25 & 26 October 2016 - Amsterdam RAI
It’s the season to be investing! Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) 2015 is done and dusted. The holiday season is looming and before we gear up for 2016, let us take you on a trip down memory lane. OEEC this year counted 658 exhibitors, 23,000m2 floor space and visitors representing 86 nationalities. People traveled to Amsterdam RAI to meet up with companies or to attend one of the many Technical Sessions, Keynotes and Master Classes from our conference program. All with the same goal: investing in the future of energy.

Perceiving and persevering
Column “I have energy, therefore I will continue to have it”, a typical thought from any energy consumer. Where companies focus on deliverability and sustainability, some consumers focus solely on cost which leads to miscommunication. As a sociologist I know of the discrepancy between what the public perceives and how this discrepancy is kept in place.

Offshore Energy Conference
Conference Review: From industry wide challenges to technology niches Ian Penman, Senior Global Technical Advisor Halliburton addressed HPHT Downhole Completion Equipment Development and Qualification during the conference session on HPHT Developments.
Globally some 250,000 jobs have been cut in the oil and gas industry, Bloomberg recently published, quoting Houston based industry consultant Graves & Co. More than 1,000 rigs now lay idle and the industry has reduced its spending by more than USD 100 billion this year to cope with oil prices that have fallen by more than half since 2014. Doubtless, the 2015 Offshore Energy Conference took place in a very different industry context than a year ago.

Offshore WIND Conference Review

Cross border mind set key for industry growth
For the third consecutive year, the annual Offshore WIND Conference took place as part of the supporting program of Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference. This year the Offshore WIND Conference (OWC) focused on ‘building an industry without borders’. On Monday 12 October more than 20 expert speakers shared and discussed their views with over 250 industry professionals on taking down barriers to realize the industry’s potential growth.
When developing offshore wind farm zones, both the technical and regulatory feasibility of interconnection should be taken into account.
