Senior Advisory Council
The Senior Advisory Council has been meeting regularly since it was created in July 2019. A variety of topics have been discussed and many positive results have occurred including plans for continued enhancements as a result of these discussions. If you have any ideas for improving the senior experience at the Leisure Center, contact Laura Wassinger by stopping by the Senior Center Office, by phone at 847-291-2995 or via email at lwassinger@nbparks.org. All matters shared will be brought to the attention of Senior Advisory Council.
Special Thanks to: Julie Goforth and Lenore Bernstein, who have worked to organize information for new trips, events and classes. Also, to Julie Goforth who volunteered to act as secretary of the Council and worked tirelessly to secure many excellent raffle prizes for the annual Holiday Party held at Sunset Ridge.
Also thanks to Cindy Vander Kuur, for becoming the organizer of many donated puzzles used in the Puzzling activities set up in the Library. She keeps records of which puzzles have been done, monitors the progress on the current puzzle in the Library and selects the next puzzle for enthusiasts to complete.
These four women have volunteered to stamp the books in the Lending Library with the newly purchased Northbrook Senior Center Library stamp. This idea originated through our suggestion box.
Finally, thanks to Larry Schaffel, for his welcoming hospitality at the many drop-ins in which he participates. He is a Senior Center ambassador who makes great coffee for others several times a week!

Tell Us What You Want!
Recently we have taken wonderful trips, eaten at amazing restaurants (and didn’t have to drive ourselves or park!) and attended engaging new classes such as Regain Your Balance and Acrylic Pour. We’ve also seen Leslie Goddard and Barbara Rinella give outstanding performances.
Let us know what types of activities you’d like to see more or less of here at the Senior Center. We want to plan your favorite trips, classes and events! Complete and drop off this form at the Senior Center Office Suggestion Box or the Leisure Center Registration Office. We want to hear from everyone!
