A Moment with Marissa
The Senior Center is closed July 4-6 for the Independence Day holiday.
Summer is a great time to relax and enjoy programs with the Northbrook Park District Senior Center!
Remember to sign up for the following:
• Ice Cream Social—July 23
• South Pacific at Light Opera Works—August 19
• Barbecue and Bingo—August 21
• Cabaret Lunch Cruise on Lake Michigan—August 25
Registration for autumn programs begins on July 29 for members, so you can save a spot at our popular events, including Barbara Rinella’s Book Dramatization, the Thanksgiving Luncheon, and the Holiday Party at Sunset Ridge Country Club.
This spring, the Barbara Rinella presentation of The News Sorority attracted 106 people for literary entertainment and lunch on May 21. And, we celebrated almost 50 of our volunteers at our annual Senior Center Volunteer Luncheon, also in May. Thank you to everyone who joined us. With camps in session, our building gets busier than usual, and some of our programs may move. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we try to accommodate all of our programs. Traffic at the Leisure Center will be heavy between 8:45-9am and 3-3:15pm; please plan your arrival and departure times accordingly.
Thanks!
Marissa
Catch Up with Kristina
Thank you to everyone at the Northbrook Senior Center and Leisure Center for your warm welcome. For the past several years, I have worked at various park districts, most recently at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, where I worked on special events and programs. If you haven’t met me yet, stop by the Senior Center office to introduce yourself and join me for “Cookies with Kristina” on July 15.
I want to plan trips, programs and entertainment that you would like, so be sure to share your suggestions and ideas.
Share your summer with us!
