Make a Difference The Student Equality & Diversity Forum met on several occasions last year and, although attendance has not been great, a small and committed group has helped raise the profile of a number of important issues, including making the wording of the published College Disability Equality policy more student-friendly and accessible and giving valuable input on how to promote awareness of disability issues Collegewide. The Student E & D Forum will meet again in October (details to follow). If you are interested in joining this group then please contact Emma Thomson on 01903 606315 or email studentplus@nbcol.ac.uk
Green Dining Hospitality student, Clare McIvor, has opened a new ‘environment-friendly’ restaurant called Green Cuisine in Worthing. The restaurant offers yummy home cooked veggie, vegan, gluten-free and healthy meals which are all made using locally sourced ingredients. A vegetarian for 27 years, Claire said, “My aim is to offer high quality, hand made, delicious food made with fresh, free range, local and, as far as possible, organic ingredients which will minimise damage to the environment and reduce animal suffering”. Check out Green Cuisine in Worthing’s ‘foodie’ West End at 37 Rowlands Road.
