Speaker: President Bob gave the introduction for our speaker, Jim Rutter from the Dana Point Ocean Institute. A fellow rotarian these last 8 years, Jim has helped the Ocean Institute raise support so school classes can attend for a day. For further info check out www.ocean-institute.org/

Sergei was born and educated in Moscow and taught at the National Academy of Sciences for over 20 years. In the late 1980's he served as an advisor to Mikhail Gorbachev as director of one of the premier academic “think tanks” in Russia. After emigrating to Canada in 1994, he has been a frequent commentator on Canadian PBS. His primary areas of interest are Russian politics and foreign policy, problems of postcommunism, US Russian relations, the Russian orthodox church, Russian nationalism. A vigorous speaker with total mastery of the English language, his topic will be “Putin’s Russia” ... ---------------Upcoming Speakers------------------
