Soka means “To Create Value”, and their mission is to “create global citizens who are committed to living a
contributive life”. Over the past 12 years the faculty and staff have provided a highquality global education to the 438 students who are currently enrolled. Soka has risen in the US News rankings over the past two years moving from 64th to 49th. The university has a 9 to 1 student-faculty ratio and 89% of its students graduate in four years. 100% of the students live on campus. The student population is very diverse with 41% of the students coming from countries outside of the United States. All students are required to study abroad and many explore additional international projects within their learning clusters. Wendy says that they seek highly-motivated students who like to work hard. The original 18-building campus was built with $250 million in private funding. Soka currently has a $100 million scholarship endowment.
A presentation about the plant, why it is offline, and an update on the safety testing and regulatory processes that have followed from the plant being taken offline.
