She also collected fees from Patricia, Jim Parsons, Scott Jackson, and Dave Halm.

Program of the Day: Pat Brainerd introduced our speaker this week, Telena Mara, who is VP of Education at Segerstrom Center of the Arts. Telena has a strong affinity for Rotary, she sang the National Anthem at the Abilene Texas Rotary Club when she was in High School. She also received a Rotary Scholarship to attend a summer singing camp. The Segerstrom Center provides educational programs to over ½ a million people each year and covers five counties in Southern California. They have over 100 teaching artists and groups who go into schools throughout the region. In particular, high schools have had significant cutbacks over the past couple of decades in Arts Education. The cutbacks began when Congressman Leo Ryan moved to change the credentialing requirements for all teachers which previously required every teacher to have an Arts credential. Since then, steady cutbacks have occurred. The Segerstrom programs are thus filling an important gap, and they receive no government funding for their efforts.

This is your chance to find out about hot issues like the John Wayne Airport Noise Curfew extension and where he stands currently on his possible plans for running as a candidate for California Governor... ---------------Upcoming Speakers/Events------------------
