Last Meeting Notes Pres Bob called meeting at 12:30 Invocation: Scott Jackson Pledge: Bill Zeller 4-Way Test: Ed Smith Song of the Day: Scott Jackson led a special rendition of “Take me out to the Ballgame” Introduction Visiting Rotarians: Ron Hodge introduced our Palm Springs Rotarian Karl Kruger, new General Manager of the Fairmont Newport Beach Announcements: -Golf Tournament is scheduled Monday July 15th at Oak Creek golf course. Committee meets today at the NPB Country Club. Art has PR cards ready to go.. - Cecil needs volunteers for an Olive Crest Career Night. - District Conference May 2-4 at Knotts Berry Farm. Jerry is cooking Lobster Bisque. - President Bob’s demotion party scheduled for June 27th. Fine Master: Kerk Lesh filling in for Blanca levied fines on Cecil, Bailey, Len, Keith, Rocky (who is having knee surgery soon), Karl Kruger, our visitor and Jerry. Guest Speaker: Our program this week was by Dr. Daniel Garcia DC who gave a very informative presentation on “Nutrition and Weight Loss”. With heart disease and cancer being the top two causes of death, it is important that we take responsibility for our diets

Thursday, April 18th Chris Epting - Old Orange County
Ad man and author, Chris Epting will share his research and thoughts on “Old Orange County”. Orange County, created in 1889, soon evolved into farmlands and communities supported by a yearround harvest of Valencia oranges, lemons, avocados, walnuts, and more. Today the county boasts more than three million people. Chris Epting is author of 20 travel/history books. He has contributed articles for the Los Angeles Times, Westways, Travel + Leisure magazine, and writes a weekly newspaper column for the Huntington Beach Independent. In addition, Chris writes for AOL Music and is a talk show guest, and overall health.
