Last Meeting Notes Pres Bob called order 12:30 Invocation: John Brainerd. Pledge: Blanca Ocampo 4-Way Test: Ken Paddock Song of the Day: Scott Jackson led us in a typically unique rendition of “Jingle Bells” Announcements: Cecil provided an update on our Marine Christmas Gift project. All of the Marines who received gift cards were thankful and happy. Cecil also reported on the annual Olive Crest Christmas Party. He indicated that many felt this was the best party ever. Ken Paddock, a first-time volunteer gave his perspective on how meaningful it was for him. Thanks Cecil for all your hard work this year! Tim Shields reported contact with Rotary Club of Newtown CT. in aftermath of the tragedy there. He is raising funds to send to their club for service to their community. Club members volunteered to donate $1500! The gifts are being matched. Anyone wanting to donate should make checks to: Newport Irvine Rotary Foundation President Bob announced that he decided to cancel the Bike Ride for Health. Everyone congratulated Art Kleinpell for all that he did to start the project. Hopefully, it will happen sometime in the future. The Rotary Int’l Convention is June 23-26 in Lisbon Portugal.

A fun speaker to start our programs for the new year - Manny is currently a Southern California television and radio personality. His career has spanned over three decades. He co-hosted the Daytime Emmy-nominated In Studio on KCOP 13; and appeared on NBC’s Santa Barbara. He is an Award Winning author and will discuss his book SON OF FORGOTTEN HOLLYWOOD: FORGOTTEN Our District Conference will be HISTORY. Manny tells America's story in Ken May 2-4 at Knotts Berry Farm. Burns-style through the eyes of character actors from Hollywood's Golden Age including Claude Fines This Week: Blanca and Rains, Frank Morgan, Walter Brennan, Hattie Sandra M. were co-fine mistresses this week.
