“Sweethearts are born, but Delights are made.”

Schedule for the Day

-Golden Delight Staff

This is the foundation of what we believe. The first clinic/ Interest meeting kicks off this experience! The best candidates are those with the passion for what they do, - the ones who would not be happy unless they were performing for a crowd of thousands of fans. These women understand that what we do is not an “extracurricular” activity, it’s a craft. The Sweethearts are waiting on your arrival to show you just a taste of the “Sweet Life” we live here at NC A&T State University as a part of the award winning A&T Band. The best part of the clinics is the fact that you get feedback from our staff on things you can work on areas in which you have strengths. So that we can route that feedback appropriately, participants are assigned a CLINIC ID NUMBER. This number will remain the same for all clinics. The information session will be comprehensive. Bring your questions and do not be afraid to ask them. The clinic is designed to give an “overview and introduction” into what we do. We will work through dance basics, technical combinations (jazz, ballet), twirling basics, twirling combinations, tosses , walks, stand 8 counts, and more. Come ready to move and have a good time! Get your mind set on being a sweetheart in the making!

8:45 am-9:30 am Check In/Meet & Greet with Delights (Refreshments served) 9:30 am-11:30 am Informational Session (Business Casual) 11:30 am-1:30 pm Campus Tour/Lunch/Change Clothes Optional: Onsite Auditions 1:30 pm Instructional Clinic Begins 6:00 pm Day Ends **Rides here at 5:45pm please** We ask that all candidates be there no later than 9:15am to ensure we have registered everyone and can transition to the Info session. Doors of the band center will not open until 8:45 am. Please park in the gravel lot by the Lindsay Street side of the building. Those being dropped off be mindful of the time doors open. We will have a place for you to place your belongings. However, due to the “open” nature of the building, do not bring any items of value or more money than is needed to pay for your lunch, DVD’s, etc.

The Interest Meeting and Clinics have a dual purpose. It gives our staff the chance to see what the prospects have to offer, as well as prepare young ladies for the audition process. One major difference between Golden Delight and other auditions is we want to provide candidates with as much information as possible! No mystery here! We believe the more prepared you are, the better you will perform!

When inviting candidates to the final auditions, our staff is looking for specific things. We will spend some time covering this at the information session of the Interest meeting. What you need to know is:

• •

Take notes and make adjustments when feedback is given and you will get the most out of clinics!

Come with a humble spirit and a positive attitude. That is the best way to soak it all in. Our staff is looking for ladies who truly embody grace, presence and poise at all times. Always give 100%. When you are learning, working in groups, practicing, etc. Always be in “show” mode.

Don’t get frustrated! Remember Delights are MADE! That process takes longer than 4 hours on a Saturday. You will not get everything the first time. Remain focused and keep trying. We are looking to see that you can catch on to our style and have a grasp of minimum requirements. Essentially, we need to be able to see that you can be successful at our auditions. Body type does matter. Not having an appropriate body type can result in an invitation not being extended this year.
