CHAMPIONS: The Shimlas, the University of the Free State’s rugby team, celebrate after defeating the NorthWest Universi ty’s Pukke 6333 in the Varsity Cup final at Shimla Park in Bloemfontein. Photo: Conrad Bornman
Sharp, Shimlas! THE Shimlas beat the Pukke 63-33 to win their first FNB Varsity Cup at Shimla Park in Bloemfontein on Monday (13/04). The team of the University of the Free State (UFS) outscored its old rivals from Potchefstroom by nine tries to four in a breathtaking match to end the season unbeaten and hand the Pukke of the North-West University (NWU) a second consecutive final defeat in front of a capacity crowd. The visitors made a determined start to the match and drove the Shimlas deep into their own territory, where they forced a penalty which was slotted by Rhyno Smith. However, they were reduced to 14 men shortly afterwards when flank Marno Redelinghuys was shown a yellow card for a dangerous tackle. The home side immediately took advantage, with lock Johan van der Hoogt barging over for the opening try, which put them 8-2 up once converted by fly half Niel Marais. They did not have that lead for long
though, as Marais’s clearance from the restart was charged down by Pukke scrum half Malherbe Swart, who scored under the poles. The Potchefstroom students added a second try straight away, with inside centre Johan Deysel running a great line off a line-out in his team’s own half to score and stretch their lead to 18-8. The Shimlas hit back just after the first strategy break, with big no. 8 Niell Jordaan crashing over from a driving maul, but the visitors responded with another Smith penalty which took their lead to 20-13. The drama continued as Pukke captain Jeandre Rudolph was sent to the sin bin on the half-hour mark for repeated breakdown infringements and the home side duly capitalised with wing Maphutha Dolo stepping through a gap for a try. They then came up with a counter-attack from their own half, sparked by Vuyani Maqina who found Marais on the inside – the fly half produced a sensational offload to
put flying flank Daniel Maartens away for a try, putting them 26-20 ahead at half-time. The hosts scored their fifth try just after the break, with Marais central once again as he collected a partially charged kick and got the ball away to Dolo who released to outside centre Nico Lee who surged over the whitewash. At 34-20 down the Pukke’s forwards produced the perfect response with Rudolph scoring a pushover try from a dominant attacking scrum. The seesaw battle continued as Shimlas hit back with a second try from Nico Lee, who took a well-timed pass from Marais at pace to burst through and score under the poles. That left the Pukke with a huge task to finish in the last 20 minutes. But tries from Marais, Dolo and Maartens piled more misery on them and although the visitors had the last say with a late try from Rowayne Beukman, the hosts claimed an emphatic victory.

REIKANTSE MANAKA is not an ordinary 10-year-old. Manaka, unlike her peers, would rather read and write during break at school than play. The result of this is that at her tender age, Manaka is already a published author whose book, High Ten for Reikantse, will be launched on Saturday. The 36-page offering is a collection of short stories and the book was a real team effort with some story ideas coming from Manaka’s 6-year-old sister Rorisang. With support from her teachers and classmates, the book became a team effort with classmates contributing the illustrations after the book had become a class assignment. Reikantse’s family members were all smiles when Express visited the family on Sunday. “I am happy, ecstatic and still amazed at what she has done to write a book at this age,” Teboho Manaka, Reikantse’s father, says. Teboho says Reikantse is always writing something but he never imagined it would actually become a book. The little girl’s mother, Matumelo, echoed her husband’s sentiments saying they can only thank God for having given her the talent to be able to do this at her age. “God must bless and keep her and give her more to be able to continue doing what she does,” Retshedisitswe Manaka, Reikantse’s aunt, says. In order to encourage others, Reikantse says kids must read and go to school in order to become clever. Asked what she wants to write about, Reikantse says she wants to write about what she has read. “I sometimes feel I want to write, but I don’t always have the time because I have homework. “When I grow up I want to write books about healthy food because it is better to be healthy than to be weak,” she says. Apart from writing, which she calls her first love, Reikantse also does speech and drama at school as well as public speaking. ) High Ten for Reikantse is published by OmoOle publishers and sells for R80. Star striker laid to rest } Tladi Moloi
KIMBERLEY. – Hundreds of mourners from different spor-ting codes gathered at Verge-noeg in Kimberley to pay last tribute to the late Free State Stars’ striker, Richard Henyekane, who had died in a car accident a week ago. The “Kimberley Express”, as he was nicknamed, was laid to rest in the ABC Cemetery in Galeshewe on Saturday (11/04). The former Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns striker passed away in the early hours of Tuesday (07/04) after the car he was driving had collided head-on with an oncoming truck on the N5, just outside Kestell en route to Bethlehem from Qwaqwa. The four other occupants of the car were identified as Paul Mofokeng (26), Nthabiseng Motsoetsoe (20), Ayanda Matete (20) and Mpho Moloi (18). Prior to the funeral, an emotional memorial service was held in the Bethlehem Town Hall on Thursday (09/04). At the service, Stars’ captain, Paulos Masehe, said although Henyekane was now in God’s hands, he would always remain in their hearts. “After the Amazulu game (over the weekend in Durban), he was the one who was telling me that we should fight. God took him at a time when we needed his experience to score goals and take us out of the relegation zone. Let’s dedicate all the remaining games to Henyekane. We should fight for him,” said the skipper who was in tears.
Andrew Kanyaza, Henyekane family spokesperson, said the family had asked the team to fight and win their remaining games. “We will rejoice and forget the pain if you fight out of the relegation zone. Mike (Mokoena team chairperson and owner), you have done a good job by bringing our son to your team,” he said. Rantsi Mokoena, the managing director of the team, said he would like to send his condolences to the other families. “You will never understand the pain we are going through. But time heals all wounds,” he said. Mokoena said there was no way that any of the people who had been in the car could have survived. “That was one of the most horrific accidents. We lost Lesly Manyathela, Thomas Madigage, Gift Leremi and others in the same way. “All those players died in an accident in the early hours of the morning,” he said. He urged the players to stop driving at night. Kinnah Phiri, the team mentor, said it was very difficult to find words to express his sorrow. “We lost a good player. He was a good player and very obedient at training. He was a player I believed in and relied on,” he said. Phiri said he had not slept since Henyekane’s death. “He left us when everyone in the team needed him,” Phiri lamented.

ESKOM has moved to notify all parties as the company contemplates interrupting bulk electricity supply to the top 20 defaulting municipalities across the country from 5 June. After 4 years searching for a right man, N. Marelette is so happy that she recently married a caring husband just 2 months after Rahman had prayed for her.
2 Weeks after attending Rahman's special prayer meeting in Sasolburg, I Mrs. W.S. Jantjies successfully got my first job promotion at work. I had spent 5 years apllying for a job promotion at work.
Mr. S. Hendrik and his wife bought this lovely Vereeniging house, 3 months after attending Rahman's 1 day special prayer.
Mrs. J.F. Langeveldt (Vanderbijlpark):
I meet this powerful man Rahman on a TV program.
Before I had suffered for years and I tried many people for help but all failed. I cound not believe it when he showed me my enemies in form of a dream and whatever they were doing to pull me down. Every single detail he showed me about my enemies was so true.
Rahman accurately read my fortune and told me all my problems without me speaking a single word to him. Within 6 days after his prayers, my husband left his girlfriend and came back to me plus my enemies approached me and confessed the bad things they did to me. Rahman also gave me a special ring to fix my financial problems, and a love crystal that made people at home and at work like me, listen to me and do for me whatever I wanted from them without asking me any questions. } Anne-Marie Amiel PSALM 34:18 (The Message) If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, He’ll help you catch your breath. Reflection A close friend recently lost his 22-year-old son. “My baby’s dead,” was all he could say. Unless you’ve been through it, there’s no way anyone can understand the gut-wrenching pain induced by the loss of one’s child. No one, that is, but God. He lost His only son. Remember? How many times do we read today’s scripture and feel warm thoughts about our God as the Healer of broken hearts? Plenty. But this verse is so much stronger than just a warm reassurance. He supports us as our knees buckle. He breathes air into our lungs when sobbing and anxiety robs us of breath. He carries us
Catch your breath through the worst times with one absolute guarantee – He’ll never leave us to grieve or face any trial alone. Today at work, pray you don’t get that phonecall about the death of a loved-one. But still, you will face a difficult situation. After all, what is more challenging than public service? You may have to choose whom to lay off or what programmes to discontinue. Your own job may be on the line. Or, the project deadline is now and the internet is down. Whatever happens, know this: There is nothing that God cannot help you handle. He will help you catch your breath. He calls you a Christian public servant because He wants you to serve others as He
wants them served – despite or perhaps because of what is coming your way today. So, just as my friend found in the loss of his son, God is right there for you, too. And He has gone through more than you can ever imagine. So, He understands your pain and anxiety. Today and tomorrow and the next day, too, He will help you catch your breath. Prayer Father, help me catch my breath. Today I bring You my sorrows, my worries and all my doubts. Take them in Your hands and ease my condition. In return, give me the blessing of showing others how a Christian public servant is truly called by You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
) The Christian Public Servant is sponsored by the Robertson School of Government at the Regent University (Virginia Beach, Virginia, America). It is dedicated to public servants in all areas of government, non-profit management, health care, social work, faith-based service organisations, public safety, defence and church management. For the glory of God, it affirms the public servant on six continents by offering morning devotionals and by receiving prayer requests.

Uproar over ‘snoring’ on air } Tladi Moloi THE woes of the troubled Qwaqwa community radio station, Qwaqwa Radio, continue. The station has hit the headlines again, for all the wrong reasons. In the latest scandal to rock the station, veteran presenter Charles Lekesi was allegedly heard snoring on live radio after falling asleep while presenting a show from 06:00 on Saturday, 4 April. Lekesi was also allegedly drunk when he showed up to present the Hlwaya Tsebe show, which deals with family values. Several listeners took to various social networks to voice their displeasure at this turn of events. According to angry listeners, the show started an hour late, with the first sign of trouble being the out-dated recording of a preacher played to welcome the listeners. One of the listeners, who asked that they not be named out of fear of victimisation, told Express that he was awake at the time when the presenter started the show. “He played a song after the preaching. After the song the radio was quiet. I thought the electricity had gone off. “I was shocked when I heard him snoring. We were forced to listen to that for about 35 minutes, until Nontokozo Tshabalala came on at 07:00 to read the news.” Dibuseng Peleha was called in to save the radio from more shame. Peleha then took over the show, while fuming listeners took to social media where they voiced different views about the incident.
OTHER comments made about the Qwaqwa radio presenter on Fa cebook. Some even went to the extent of demanding an Annual General Meeting (AGM) be held, as they claimed that the station had lost its purpose and value. According to some comments, the station has not had an AGM since the controversial elective AGM that was held in March 2013. That AGM was preceded by financial maladministration allegations and was followed by the dismissal of over ten presenters and newsreaders. When contacted for comment a defiant Lekesi dismissed the allegations, saying he was not at work on that day.
CHARLES LEKESI was allegedly heard snoring on live radio. The incident occurred while he was presenting a show. Photo: Supplied
“It is not true that I slept during the show. I was not even at work that day. I don’t even know who was doing the show that day.” He said maybe people had made those comments based on the knowledge that he was supposed to have been on air at that time. He also denied that he was currently suspended. Even though Lekesi denied that he had been suspended, an insider confirmed to Express that it was announced in a meeting he would be suspended until further notice. Social media comments Mshege Carly Don Mphosi posted
a status that reads: “Hai, this Qwaqwa Radio should be closed #useless. “Can’t you hear that mzala is snoring on air? He is sleeping. Yesterday we went there to submit some things and the radio was nowhere to be found,” he said in response to another comment. Mamojuda Judasjudee Motaung posted: “When is the AGM coming, because it’s April? I want to voice some of the things (concerns).’ ) Late last year a mysterious fire apparently broke out at the station and destroyed the building, consuming half of the Mandela Park Shopping Centre.
McDonald Mokoena (32) was arrested and charged with arson for burning down half of the shopping centre in which the radio station is situated. He was declared a state patient and referred to the Free State Psychiatric Complex in Bloemfontein. He was diagnosed with a mental disorder. ) Phelekoa Mpono, the station manager, could not be reached for comment. Do you still enjoy listening to Qwaqwa Radio? Book inspires MANY South Africans can relate to a story of a tough upbringing, but very few actually chronicle their life story so that it serves as inspiration to others. Letshego Tau, 30-year-old married father of three, has decided to write his story in the hope of it serving as motivation and hopefully leading to someone making the same decision he has. He sat down with Express editor, Jabulani Dlamini, to explain his reasons for writing the book, From humble beginnings to realising a dream,, as well as his upbringing in the small Southern Free State town of Qibing, near Wepener. What is the book all about? The book is a reflection of my life and is aimed at serving as inspiration to others. It is a reflection on my life which I consider to have been tough, having been brought up by a single parent like many others out there. When did you discover the writer in you? When I was an intern at the Free State Treasury Department in 2007, the then MEC Tate Makgoe gave us books as farewell gifts and made the comment that black people did not write their stories and this stuck with me. But it was only a couple of years later that I actually read the books and started writing. What role would you say Tate Makgoe played in what you do today? He was constantly motivating us and told us that black people were not writing and if you did it would transform your life. Why do you think your story is worth telling? The title says it all. When you have people that believe in you and you are also self-motivated, anything is possible. You seem to focus on motivational and inspirational books, why is this? Like in many townships across our country, Qibing has a lack of role models because those that make it in the big cities don’t come back, but I decided to change this trend and share my story and also to plough back. What legacy do you want to leave your kids? Hopefully a legacy that will make them read and make INSPIRING: Letshego Tau with a copy of his book, From humble beginthem want to develop themselves. I want them to start nings to realising a dream. Call 0781133688 or email orders.africa@par reading and even write because even those that want tridgepublishing.com to get your copy. Photo: Jabulani Dlamini to see you improve will give you books as gifts.
Enter school, win IN the biggest initiative of its kind, SuperSport is launching the Let’s Play Physical Education Challenge to commemorate its tenth year. The challenge is a nationwide event targeted at 10- and 11-year-olds from among South Africa’s 18 000 primary schools. The fittest primary school per province will compete for the title with the grand prize a R1,1 million all-purpose, allweather, multi-use sports court to be built at the winning school. The nine provincial winners will each receive R10 000 worth of sports equipment and a physical education package worth R40 000. The primary objective of the challenge is to reinforce the instruction of curriculum-oriented physical education and to promote physical activity in all schools. Let’s Play coaching teams will target various schools per day to run the Physical Education Challenge. The fittest learners per school will compete, after which the top ten schools per province will qualify for the provincial semi-final, leading to an overall provincial winner. The final will take place on Let’s Play’s tenth birthday on 5 November. The obstacle course challenge
is designed to accommodate both boys and girls and will be standardised at every competing school. It includes soccer, slalom dribble, catch and throw, mini hurdles, rope pull and an agility drill – all of which are completed in a matter of minutes. While activity is the central focus of the challenge, it will also draw attention to two major social issues among youngsters: doping and bullying. A parallel campaign to end violence against children will be supported by Unicef, the children’s rights and emergency relief organisation. Former Miss South Africa Jo-Anne Strauss is the Goodwill Ambassador and will make appearances at schools to address the issue. “We believe that this is a meaningful way to get schools involved in physical activity,” said Vaughn Bishop, head of Let’s Play. “Kids needn’t be superstars; the challenge is designed to accommodate everyone at primary school level.” Schools are invited to enter by calling one of the following two numbers 011-894-7411 or 079-5298862 (all hours). Schools may also email physedchallenge@activeeducation.co.za.

Slava releases single } Sidwell Guduka
TUMELO MOTSELLOA, also known as Slava, has released a collaboration with Tebogo Molatole, better known as Naycha, titled Bampa Lepantsula. The hip-hop single, recorded at 2Nyce Studio in Bloemfontein, is a pretty catchy tune – and the lyrics are not bad either. “I am happy the single is out. I am going
to use this song to market myself in the music industry. This is just a teaser for the album I’m planning to release later this year or early next year,” Slava told Express. “I have distributed free copies of the single to local radio stations. I am hoping that it will receive a fair amount of play on air. “The song is already available on iTunes.”
The 24-year-old rapper from Mangaung said working with Naycha was an educational experience. “Working with Naycha was a huge pleasure. He also taught me a few things when it comes to music. “He has been in the industry for quite a while. “It was such a great experience working with him,” he said.

Foreigners ‘ticking time bomb’ THE South African government needs to stop running away from dealing with xenophobia, and it must also stop unnecessarily accommodating foreign nationals, said Pres. Jacob Zuma’s son on Tuesday. Edward Zuma, who recently expressed his anti-foreigner sentiments, told News24 that he may be the president’s son but his opinions were independent to those of his father. “The South African Human Rights Commission can arrest me for my comments, it’s fine. I am a citizen of South Africa. My thinking is independent to that of the president. “These are my personal views and I am sticking to what I said. “I am not going to stop telling the truth. The government must stop running away from addressing this issue because these people are expected to go back into their communities and we would have wasted taxpayers’ money (accommodating them at camps).” Zuma condemned the recent attacks on foreign nationals in KwaZulu-Natal and said those caught looting or attacking foreign nationals should be dealt with legally. “What is happening in KwaZuluNatal is exactly what I was talking about when I said South Africa is sitting on a ticking time bomb. “People think that I am being xenophobic but I am not, I am just trying to make a point that we have

‘People think that I am
being xenophobic but I am not, I am just trying to make a point that we have a problem.’ – Edward Zuma a problem. “A woman was shot by a foreigner in Umlazi. My question is where did they (foreign nationals) get guns from? And the problem is that the police won’t be able to trace some of these guys (because they do not have legal documents to be in the country). “All those who are in this country illegally must leave. I do not blame them (South Africans) for being angry but what can government do? Home Affairs and the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) are taking care of them but South Africans will still be angry.” He said South Africa was known for being a very friendly country, but “we are also unnecessarily accommodating illegal immigrants in this country “King Goodwill Zwelithini never said that foreign nationals should be attacked. We accept foreign nationals who are in the country legally and contribute to the South African economy with their skills. But, we
do not accept foreign nationals who shoot our mothers and sisters. “When we fought for the liberation of this country, they (comrades) were accommodated all over but there were rules that needed to be abided by. But these guys are doing as they please in South Africa. “We must stop being soft. Some of them are hiding behind the United Nations Human Rights. Look at the march that took place in Durban last week. They must also follow rules. In South Africa, whether you are in Cosatu, ANC or the SACP, for them to have a march, you need to make an application to the municipality for permission for them to march. “These are unruly people in our country and I am not going to be apologetic about it. In America, you are questioned why you are there. “They would never do that (reside illegally) in America. If this is the character they are showing then they must go.” Zuma said foreign nationals must present themselves to the Department of Home Affairs and be registered as South Africans. “Remember when I said that we are sitting on a ticking time bomb. This is what I was talking about. You never know whether they are funding ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) and al-Shabaab. South Africa is a country that believes in verbal engagements. That is how we got the freedom we enjoy today, it was through negotiations.” – News24

SPORT
Rugby not only for men } Sidwell Guduka WOMEN’S rugby in the Free State is not as big as compared to other regions within South Africa – and Orna Prinsloo is determined to change that. The Free State Cheetahs women’s team manager wants to see more females playing rugby in the province. “Rugby was known as a men’s sport in the past, but things have changed a great deal. Women can also play rugby these days,” Prinsloo told Express. “We are presently recruiting women rugby players to join the Free State Cheetahs women’s team. We are looking at players who are 18 years and older. It does not really matter whether they played rugby before – we have coaches who will teach them how to play the game. We want to build a strong team that will compete against teams from other regions,” she said. “We are particularly looking for players who are staying around Bloemfontein. We have four training venues in the City: the Tempe Military Base, Clive Solomon Stadium, Masenkeng Stadium and the Outdoor Sports Centre,” she added. Prinsloo said women’s rugby was growing in the black and coloured communities, but the same could not be said about the white community. “The problem is that the white community reckons that a woman’s place is not on the rugby field, it’s in the house and in the kitchen. That’s only my opinion. We need to change that perception. Rugby is not only a sport for men,” she lamented.

Photo: Supplied “We have all different kinds of women playing for our team (single, married, divorced, you name them). Those women who are willing to be part of us are more than welcome. It is free to join the team,” she said. The biggest challenge when it comes to running a women’s rugby team, Prinsloo said, was funding. “We are running the team on a shoestring budget. We do receive funding from the South African Rugby Union (Saru) to be used exclusively for women’s rugby, but it is not sufficient. With that money, we have to buy boots for the players and pay for their transport to training and to the matches. We also need to pay for medics at the games, et cetera,” she explained. “It is really quite costly to run the club without sponsors. It would be nice if we could get people to sponsor the team. Without the necessary sponsors we won’t be able to afford some of the things we need,” she added. The Cheetahs did exceptionally well last season as they won the South African Sevens competition in

the A2 Section. “We didn’t play in the A1 Section because we don’t have depth like the other teams that we compete with. We are not as strong as other unions such as Border who has 56 registered rugby teams in their area. We don’t have one club in our area, we only have a group of girls training together. Eastern Province also has 18 registered teams. SWD Eagles has nine registered clubs. Western Province has 14 clubs. Blue Bulls have ten clubs. KwaZulu-Natal has 21 clubs. We really cannot compete with those regions because they have a lot of girls from which to choose the cream of the crop,” said Prinsloo. There will be an exhibition women’s rugby match at the Sentraal High School in Bloemfontein this Saturday, where the Cheetahs will form two teams to play against each other on the day. Kick-off time has not been confirmed yet. Women who wish to join the Cheetahs women’s team should call Lerato on 078-554-9290 or Orna on 083-347-1872. X1PXDV3B-EX150415
‘Chiefs will take title’
FORMER Amazulu Star Joel Faya believes Kaizer Chiefs are poised to “walk away with the league title” this season. Chiefs are ten points clear of second-placed champions Mamelodi Sundowns with five matches left for Amakhosi. Downs have a game in hand, but Faya doubts Stuart Baxter’s men will repeat the mistakes of last term. “I think it is pretty much obvious that Kaizer Chiefs will win this league. I think they started on a good note and it is now just a matter of maintaining form,” says Faya, who is currently Usuthu’s chief scout. Faya, a feared striker in the late 1970s and early 80s, feels only injuries or suspensions could derail the Glamour Boys at this stage. “The issue of player suspensions and injuries could be the only challenge that could stop Kaizer Chiefs and be an advantage for Sundowns who have a huge pool of players to choose from. “Otherwise Kaizer Chiefs will walk away with this title, especially since they are now out of the CAF Championship League with their focus firmly on this trophy.” – BackpageTxt

Mr and Mrs Thabo My last resort to bring back my lost lover. Me and my wife Bridget had given up after losing my job and struggling to keep up with my car and house payment. I had to change schools for my children from private schools to government schools because financially we were not stable anymore, but thanks to my in-law who gave me this woman of God's number, she helped me to turn my life around financially by giving me a magic ring which brought back hope into my life. It cost me only R800 and for the first time in my life I went into a casino with my wife and we used our magic to hit a jackpot. Now my house and car are paid off and my children are back in private schools - now life is so wonderful, so in case you are looking for the best healer, please look no more.

My husband is back after 15 years of divorce. Mama Asiha showed me my enemies in a mirror. But now we are together again and very happy. I almost lost hope when my husband asked for a divorce. Living without my husband for 15 years was not easy. I had to support myself financially and consulted top healers, who didn't help. I heard of mama Asiha on the radio and on television, my workmate he had helped with my financial problems. She told me everything that was happening in my life before I said anything to her. She took out all the witchcraft, showed me the 'mirror in a dish of water'. I saw my husband's girlfriend . She prayed for me with her special powers . My enemies confessed now and I'm also now promoted at work . I don't know how to thank mama Asiha, but to make it public. With her magic ring she can protect homes from bad evils.

After 10 years of struggling, my husband is back at home after mama Linda showed me my enemies in a mirror . We are now a happy, married couple - thank you, mama Linda. My husband stayed with his girlfriend for 10 years. Without him I struggled to support myself and could not even pay our children's school fees. I visited traditional healers, but with no help. Then I heard of Maria Linda on a radio talk show and my neighbour whom he helped and rescued from black magic. I visited mama Linda and paid R200. He told me about my future and my marriage problems. He put a mirror in a dish with water and I saw the faces of my enemies and my husband's girlfriend. He prayed for me and gave me holy water and oil to wash myself. After two days I saw results, my enemies confessed their wrong doings towards me and my husband left his girlfriend and come back home. I'm now happy after visiting mama Linda .

THE Mangaung Octopus Aquatics Club is gearing up to compete in the National Lifeguard Championships in Durban this month end. The event, which will see top South African swimming talent in action, promises to be a spectacle at the Kings Park Swimming Complex. It starts on Wednesday, 30 April, and will run until 2 May. “I think the kids are swimming spectacularly well – they look great. We are ready to compete against the rest of South Africa in Durban,” said Meshack Kgabola, chairperson and one of the coaches at the Mangaung Octopus Aquatics Club. “We are not going there to add up to the numbers, but to compete strongly. We want to collect a few gold medals. We have managed to collect about 36 medals in the last competition that we recently took part in at Maselspoort,” he said. “I am working with three other swimming coaches at the Bloemanda Swimming Pool. We have a fantastic working relationship. Our aim is to produce swimmers who will one day represent the country at international competitions,” he added. Although 14 members of the Mangaung Octopus Aquatics Club have qualified for the upcoming meet, Kgabola said they were battling to put together sufficient funds to cover for transport, accommodation, food and registration for the kids. “We need to raise approximately R30 000 for the trip. We had a fundraising event on Easter Monday. However, we did not raise as much money as we had hoped

Things in my life went from good to worse in a very short time. My love live, financial problems jealousy, my husband’s family were all against me. Luckily I came across Marria through a friend. She helped me and showed me my enemies through a mirror for only R200. She did miracles in my life. She told me all my problems without mentioning anything to her. She showed me the people who worked hard to see me suffering some of which were my friends and relatives. She performed a special prayer, washed away my bad luck and cleansed my home. Gave me a love potion with a ring for my financial problems in less than five days, my husband was always by my side and my enemies confessed and asked for forgiveness. Come and visit me at Northridge Mall.
