Book will appeal to many } Jabulani Dlamini ACCLAIMED poet and all-round performer Reitumetse “Skietreker” Seape has released his third poetry book which he says will resonate with many readers. The 29-year-old Thaba Nchuborn Seape is a complex character who is passionate about the word and describes himself as a musician, poet, writer and performer. Having released his first book, Apartheid ek sal jou boks Volume 1, in 2007 with the sequel Apartheid ek sal jou boks Volume 2 released in 2012, Seape describes his latest book, Respect our gifts, as some of his best work yet. The two volumes of Apartheid ek sal jou boks were written in Afrikaans, which Seape is quite passionate about, while Respect our gifts

is written in English with a peppering of Sotho. Skietreker, as Seape is affectionately known to his legion of fans, sat down with Express editor, Jabulani Dlamini, to discuss his latest offering. Who is the book dedicated to? The book is dedicated to anyone who has not seen the colour of light, it is for anyone who can read and write. Who are you targeting with the book? I have not targeted anyone, because at times when we target we completely miss the point, whilst when we dedicate something it goes straight to the heart. I want to get people to finish as powerfully as they started. Many of us start strong, but finish poorly sometimes. Years pass between the release of your books. Why is this? There was a time I fell lyrically, spiritually and in every other aspect of my life and I lived without meaning, so I decided to go back to the crossroads and try to find myself again. I tried to run away, but it did not work, but now I write with an element of healing and with a calling. The transition came when I stopped writing for myself and I asked God to take control. Where to from here? I want to perform on world stages. Would you encourage others to get into performance poetry? Yes, but only if you have the love, commitment, passion and dedication to do this. Above all these you have to have faith, because with faith you do not even have to knock because God will knock for you and everyone inside will already know you are coming. ) Contact Skietreker on Facebook at Richard Segopolo or email skietreker@gmail.com or call him on 078-474-0475. ) The Respect our gifts package costs R399. ) See Skietreker perform one of his poems at www.express-news.co.za

POEM Eye dedicate I dedicate this book To all those people who started But never had the strength to finish Those whose ideas & thoughts Where crushed & dreams diminished I dedicate this book to God As I kneel down To thank Him For trusting me with this gift Because when I first started Many used to hate But now when I look into the mirror All they do is show respect I dedicate this book To all those people Who are physically able But are blind spiritually Because they will hold it & feel the heat But they will never get to see it So I dedicate this book To all those people Who will never get to see The colour of light But because life is a gift With respect I’ve allowed God To sneeze & give light & length Morena ka Lentswe I speak life into these pages Yes I pray I pray for all those people Who failed 7 times And they gave up But this morning God has changed their situation And they are smiling and praying Because they can see And smell the sound of peace & silence in pieces I dedicate this book To those who have made it And now because of Grace They have gone back To go and fetch those who were left behind By scratches & stones of dust Now they bow down to worship And Father I know you are listening So with this gift I dedicate this book to fear May his soul rest in peace.

Car seat now a must ER24 has welcomed the new regulation to the National Road Traffic Act that aims to protect children by use of a child car seat. The use of a child car seat for all children under the age of three will be compulsory from 1 May. Motorists that have children under the age of three unrestrained in a vehicle will be issued a fine. Several motorists still refuse to take seriously the constant warnings and calls by emergency services and authorities to have children restrained in vehicles. “On a daily basis while on the road you will find young children jumping on back seats, hanging out of windows and sitting on passengers’ laps. Upon speaking to parents some will tell you that they never grew up with child car seats and they survived. Parents may also tell you that their children do not like being restrained and cry constantly. “The number of vehicles on the road today has increased drastically. With the number of cars, buses, bikes and other modes of transport we are surrounded by every day and the number of distractions on the road, there is no better and safer option but to have your child restrained. If your child does not like being restrained make them understand that it is not up for discussion,” Chitra Bodasing, ER24 spokesperson, says. The sad truth is ER24 and other emer-

gency services attend to horrific collisions involving children on a weekly basis. The majority of unrestrained children are flung out of vehicles and either sustain critical injuries or die in collisions. For those parents who cannot afford new car seats, remember that there are organisations that sell second-hand car seats or hand them out for an affordable donation. Bodasing says while the law forces parents to use child car seats for children under the age of three, this does not mean that adults should ignore the need to restrain older children. In terms of the appropriate restraint for your child, ER24 offers the following advice: Infants should ride rear-facing at least until they are a year old. Once they exceed the weight or height limit set by the manufacturer of the infant safety seat, they should continue to ride rear-facing in a convertible safety seat. When they have outgrown this seat, they should use a forward-facing safety seat with a full harness. This should be used until they exceed the weight and/or height limit set by the manufacturer of the seat and children who have outgrown a convertible safety seat should use a booster seat until they are at least four feet. Children who are tall enough to wear an adult seat belt should still ride in the back seat until they are 13 years old.

Campaign to prevent texting and driving

} Sidwell Guduka

VODACOM, in partnership with Mangaung Metro traffic, on April Fool’s Day (1 April) launched a digital campaign that discourages South Africans from texting while driving. The campaign, dubbed W8_2send (pronounced wait-to-send) is aimed at encouraging road users to pledge to not text when driving. Mauritz Janse van Rensburg, Vodacom’s specialist for health and safety, told Express: “We are taking a stand as company, that’s why we are launching this campaign in the Mangaung metro municipal area. We want to engage and educate drivers about the dangers of texting and driving,” He added: “This campaign has been specifically designed with the youth in mind. That is why we came up with the W8_2send online game that simulates what can happen when drivers are distracted by their cellphones on the road. “Texting and driving is extremely dangerous and can keep your eyes off the road for as much as five seconds at a time. If, for instance, you are driving at 120 km per hour, your car could travel a distance equivalent to more than one and a half football pitch during that five seconds of inattention.” Janse van Rensburg encouraged road users to make a pledge to wait to send a text, because that would make a world of difference in terms of reducing accidents on our roads.

“We appeal to all South Africans to stop texting while they are driving. Their lives are much more valuable than sending an SMS. “The lives of your family, your children and your passengers are much more valuable that that SMS,” he advised. He also added that every single citizen who made a pledge to not text and drive would receive a thumb band that he or she should wear when they were driving. “The process currently is that we are handing over thumb bands to the traffic officers. The officers will then distribute them to the drivers when they are having roadblocks. “If you look at your standard cellphone you would most likely use your thumbs to do the texting. “So if you want to text, that band would probably be the first thing you see on your thumb before you start texting. Therefore, it would serve as a reminder for you to not text while driving,” he explained. Thakane Musa, senior traffic superintendent at the Mangaung Metro, said they were happy to partner with Vodacom in this initiative. “We both have a common goal, which is safe driving. We agreed to be part of this campaign because we care about the lives of our people,” said Musa. “Texting and driving distract your focus on the road and it contributes to unnecessary fatal accidents. Let us be responsible citizens and stop texting while driving,” she added. ) To make a pledge to not text while driving, visit www.vodacom/w82send.

“BLOW ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand.” Joel 2:1 When God wants to come to His people a trumpet sound goes out first, as only in praise does God reveal Himself. At rapture a trumpet will sound, 1 Corinthians 15:52 says: “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” Heaven is for praise and worshippers, God’s words to Pharaoh was: “Let my people go to worship me.” God is a spirit and those who worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth. In paradise no one prays there, all they do is praise 24/7. They sing Holy, holy, holy without resting. The Word of God is already settled in heaven so in heaven there is only music and not words.

If we praise God enough, deliverance will come automatically without the need for laying on of hands. We have to be addicted to praise. No one in the Bible overcame in a big way without praise and worship. Solomon had very many singers; there is no kingdom in the world without singers. In every single kingdom there must be praise. The Bible says: “Your praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Obadiah 1:17 says: “Upon mount Zion there shall be deliverance,” because Zion is a place of the king and that is why the scripture says O Lord, praise awaits you in Zion. Other mountains are not known for praise, Sinai for example gave laws and those laws killed people. Everybody understands music,

the Bible says in Psalm 98:8 (NIV), “Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy;” People struggle to cast out the devil when they have no music in them as that is what he respects. God says the kingdom belongs to children because children cry and that is musical, adults are too silent, we are not adults of God, but children of God. Whenever we gather and praise God, He will surely be there. The devil bombards us with problems so that we can change our praise to complaints. Once we start complaining, we stop praising. The devil says to believers, “Go and pray, but forget to praise.” The devil was in heaven for many years and, therefore, knows what God is looking for. God lives in praise, He inhabits the praise of His people. Psalm 22:3 says: But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel. Prayer point: Lord, I just need you, be my glory from today, in Jesus’ name. WoW: “Don’t study the ages of rock but the Rock of Ages.”

‘Worthy African leaders overlooked’ ROY JANKIELSOHN, the DA’s MPL in the Free State, believes there are worthy home-grown African leaders, deserving to be honoured, whom the C.R. Swart Building in Bloemfontein can be named after. Jankielsohn’s remarks came in the wake of Free State Premier Elias “Ace” Magashule’s announcement of the renaming of the Lebohang Building to O.R. Tambo in honour of the ANC’s late president and the C.R. Swart Building to Fidel Castro, honouring the late prime minister of Cuba. Magashule announced this during his State of the Province Address on 25 February. Jankielsohn remarked during the debate on the Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill on 16 March that Magashule was overlooking African leaders of note, such as Morena Mohlomi, as deserving the honour to have the building named after them. Jankielsohn maintained Mohlomi had distinguished himself as an inspiring leader. “In 2011 Max du Preez delivered the annual C.R. Swart Lecture at the University of the Free State (UFS). In his lecture he spoke a great deal about African philosophers and what we could learn from them,”

My view Roy Jankielsohn DA Provincial Legislature member Jankielsohn said. “I am talking about it again, because it appears from the way we debate that our province has rejected that which is indigenous and inherently good in favour of the perpetuation of a chapter of our history that should be systematically closing. This is bad for the Free State. “By naming a building after Fidel Castro, a foreigner and a man of violence, we are entrenching violence as a value that is acceptable and one to strive towards. “Many people regard Castro as a revolutionary and a liberator, which might within a specific context appear to be noble, but one must always be careful not to entrench the concept of violence and violent revolution as ongoing ideals in our current society. “At the same time, we must not forget the plight of many who were victims of Castro’s human

rights abuses, mass executions, torture, imprisonment and institutionalised theft of property. “For many Cubans, Castro was a tyrant who, through his deeds, despised all the democratic rights and freedoms that we cherish in our Constitution. For others Castro might be a hero.” Jankielsohn emphasised that from Du Preez’s appraisal about Mohlomi there were positive aspects politicians in the Free State should not only learn from, but strive to follow. “Mohlomi was a king in the Mohokare area in the 18th century. He was a visionary leader whose counter-intuitive leadership should not only be recognised, but be part of our collective vision for the province. “According to legend, Mohlomi was told in a vision to be a man of love and peace, to be fair and just, to see all people as his brothers and sisters, to have

compassion and patience, and to give special consideration to children, women and old people. “Based on this, we must ask ourselves whether our actions and examples as politicians in the Free State promote this vision. We must also ask ourselves whether this is what adults are teaching our children in our broader society, schools and homes. “Mohlomi disbanded his fighting units and encouraged his able-bodied men to get involved in agriculture and be better husbands and fathers. He set an example by never using alcohol, dagga or tobacco. “Today, our society is faced with serious problems relating to the spread of HIV and Aids, teenage pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse and the lack of paternal responsibility. Our reaction has been to distribute contraceptives, pay out child grants, run anti-drug and alcoholabuse campaigns, while continuing to promote so called ‘macho’ (male-dominated) values. “Mohlomi coined the phrases ‘peace is my sister’ and ‘a knobkerrie is far more valuable when used to thrash corn than to kill men on the battlefield’. In fact, he started the traditional

‘By naming a building after Fidel Castro, a foreigner and a man of violence, we are entrenching violence as a value that is acceptable and one to strive towards.’ – Roy Jankielsohn

greeting of ‘khotso’, meaning ‘peace’. “Another lesson that we can learn from Mohlomi is that which he instructed his chiefs: ‘When you sit in judgement, let your decisions be just. The law knows none as a poor man.’ “This is an important lesson for those in authority. Decisions of politicians affect every aspect of people’s lives. Just decisionmaking does not only apply to the direct use of political authority, but in the motives that underlie political decision-making. “We have to constantly do introspection as politicians to determine what our real motives are and be brutally honest with ourselves in the process. “South Africa has a violent past, and while we now have one of the most progressive constitutions in the world and where the rule of law is supposed to exist, we all live under fear of criminal violence. “In this respect our criminal justice system attempts to deal with the symptoms, but not the root causes of this problem. The cause lies with the lack of personal responsibility and lack of respect for authority – a result of the breakdown of the family.”

The Rock in trouble } Teboho Setena

DEFIANT: Thabang Mambalo, who was dismissed as chief executive officer of the Lejweleputswa Community Radio Station, The Rock FM. Photo: Teboho Setena

EMBATTLED Lejweleputswa Community radio station The Rock FM’s essential movable assets are set to go under the hammer through public auction on 15 April. This is to recover part of the more than R100 000 the station owes to fired chief executive officer Thabang Mambalo. The movable property was attached by the Welkom Sheriff following an application by Mambalo’s legal representative, Casper Kruger of Podbielski Incorporated in Welkom. The assets were attached by the sheriff last month following the station management’s apparent failure to comply with an order by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) to reinstate and reimburse Mambalo. The dispute resolution body ruled in favour of Mambalo in 2013 after finding the radio’s board guilty of unfair dismissal. The money in question is for backpay after the CCMA ruled in favour of Mambalo on 20 August 2013, finding The Rock FM’s board had unfairly dismissed him and ordering that he be reinstated as chief executive officer on 2 September 2013. The station was ordered to pay Mambalo R29 616,60 calculated from 23 April when he was suspended from duty until August 2013 after the hearing. Following the radio station’s failure to oblige, Mambalo instituted legal action against the beleaguered community radio station, resulting in the attachment of the movable assets which

The radio station’s management had until January to meet its obligations. It failed to do so and Mambalo’s legal representative applied to the court. include a printer, office chairs, desk, LCD monitor, and a plasma television among others. The assets were attached after the station’s management failed to make payment in instalments to settle the more than R100 000 owed to Mambalo. The radio station’s management had until January to comply with the order, however, it failed to do so. As a result, Mambalo’s legal representative applied to the labour court to summon the station. “Justice to me may seem like injustice to others. I, however, do not take pride in what is unfolding, which may result in serious repercussions because of other persons who have no interest in the welfare of the station. I was pushed to the limit to take a legal route. I tried in vain to avoid the situation which is unfolding now,” says Mambalo. ) An advertisement for the auction appears in Vista, sister newspaper of Express Mangaung of 2 April.

‘The senior officials locked their offices and left to prevent the sheriff from attaching other movable municipal furniture.’

THE Tokologo Local Municipality in the western region of the Free State is embroiled in a legal battle regarding the unfair dismissal of an employee. The legal battle has seen the Boshof Sheriff attach the mayor’s official vehicle, a C18 Mercedes-Benz on Monday 30 March for contempt of order. Express reliably learnt that the attached vehicle was a surplus and was not being utilised by Boitumelo Seakge, Tokologo’s mayor. Informed sources told this publication that the sheriff was likely to attach more assets of the municipality to recover money owed to the fired employee Palo Modibedi, who held a senior position in the mayor’s office. Led by Seakge as the mayor, the Tokologo Municipality governs three towns, Boshof, Dealesville and Hertzogville. Informed sources also stated Seakge declined answering questions relating to the debacle at the municipal council meeting held last Wednesday (01/04). The attached vehicle is the property of the municipality in question. It was attached following the municipality’s failure to honour an award to pay the aggrieved employee, Modibedi, the estimated R130 000 owed to him. In 2013, Modibedi lodged a dispute with the Free State’s South African Local Government Bargaining Council (SALGBC) against unfair dismissal by the municipality. The SALGBC found Modibedi had been unfairly dismissed by the municipality in 2013, and ruled in his favour,

subsequently ordering the municipality to reinstate Modibedi. Modibedi says the council ordered the municipality to reinstate him and reimburse him an estimated R130 000. Modibedi claims that Kelehile Motlhale, the municipal manager, dismissed him again on 3 February 2014 when he reported for duty, despite the ruling of the council. After the municipality failed to abide by the ruling of the bargaining council, Modibedi took up the matter with the Labour Court, which issued a writ of execution to attach movable goods of the municipality in order to reimburse Modibedi. Eye witnesses told this publication that the municipal officials, including the chief financial officer and Motlhale, abandoned their officers upon the arrival of the sheriff to impound the vehicle last Monday. “The senior officials locked their offices and left to prevent the sheriff from attaching other movable municipal furniture,” says a source. The attached black Mercedes-Benz is gathering dust at the Boshof Magistrate’s Court. Last year the mayor made headlines when the municipality bought him a brand-new Jeep vehicle estimated to be worth more than R510 000. Municipal council members of the opposition parties argued that the vehicle had been way over budget. Meanwhile, the municipality has been criticised for forcing municipal workers to drive vehicles which are not road worthy and failure to implement its sewer system in Dealesville. The mayor and the municipal manager failed to respond to phone calls made by this publication.

This artist is described as one of the most authentic worship leaders of our generation and he is well known for songs like Above All, Here I Am to Worship and Agnus Dei. Queuing to fill up

RETURN TRIP: Holidaymakers top up their vehicles’ tanks at the Engen garage on the N1 (north) in Bloemfontein on Sunday (05/04) as they return from their Easter break destinations. The Free State Department of Police, Roads and Transport has stated that five fatal accidents, which resulted in 12 deaths, were recorded over the Easter weekend.

Show your skills GR. 8 to gr. 11 learners across the Free State are called to participate in the 2015 iNkosi Albert Luthuli Oral History Competition. The Free State Department of Education has appealed to gr. 8 to gr. 11 learners and teachers in the province to participate in the 2015 iNkosi Albert Luthuli Oral History Competition. The competition, presented by the Basic Education Department, gives learners an opportunity to celebrate and review the progress made as a nation in building a better and more united South Africa and strengthening our democracy. This year, learners are given topics relating to the commemoration of the Freedom Charter, which was drawn up 60 years ago by the struggle activists fighting against the apartheid regime. Participants are encouraged to research the history of the heroes and heroines of the past within their locality and not concentrate on those whose efforts and contribution are already well-known. The competition, inaugurated in 2005, is named after the late former president-general of theANC, Nobel Prize laureate, and educationist Albert John Luthuli.

Learners can choose one of the following topics: Freedom, democracy and the history of my school: How my school experienced apartheid and the changes since the advent of democracy in 1994; Socio-political biography of a local hero or heroine in my community: What motivation did they find in the Freedom Charter; Life story of a former student leader in the 1980’s: How the idealism of the Freedom Charter guided them; Gender activist in my community who participated in the women’s unity movement of the 1980s: How ideals of the Freedom Charter sustained their struggle; and a Local hero or heroine who participated in the worker struggle of the 1980s: What did the maxim “ there shall be work and security” mean for the labour movement. Interested learners must enter before the closing date on 29 April. Free State winners (ten learners and two teachers) will represent the province nationally on 2 to 5 October this year. ) For more information participants can contact Moses Tsatsinyane, assistant director for Values in Education, at: 051-404-8678, 073-062-6527, fax: 086-609-8754 and e-mail: tsatsinm@edu.fs.gov.za.

Name-calling, then genocide REV. THEUNIS BOTHA, leader of the Christian Democratic Party (CDP): IN a study by Genocide Watch, it is shown how the polarisation and isolation of a certain group begins by calling the members of the group names. There have recently been worrying signs of this phenomenon in South Africa. This is harmful and does not ensure a positive future for this country. The CDP has noted with alarm the latest tendency of prominent politicians to use expressions such as the “evil” of colonialism, apartheid and now even white supremacists. The ANC and Malema’s support for the removal of Cecil John Rhodes’s statue on the University of Cape Town’s campus, the illegal damage of the British War Memorial in Uitenhage by the EFF, along with its threats to take matters into its own

hands and even pull down the Paul Kruger statue in Pretoria – claiming that this will rid South Africa of every vestige of colonial, apartheid and “white supremacist” legacy – is a clear sign that they are attempting to rewrite the history of the country and target the white minority. Some of the colonial and apartheid legacies that are also being destroyed include an uninterrupted electricity and water supply, as well as a road, health and economic infrastructure. But before either the ANC or Malema can claim that they have rid the country of the last vestiges of colonialism and apartheid, they have

Khompela guilty of contempt of court LEONA KLEYNHANS, DA MPL in the Free State: POLICE, Roads and Transport MEC Butana Khompela was sentenced to 30 days’ imprisonment suspended for five years in his official capacity for contempt of court. This followed after Komphela had wilfully ignored a previous court order to bring order and stability to the Fouriesburg and Lesotho taxi routes. Komphela neglected to take decisive action against traffic officials in cahoots with the Fouriesburg Taxi Association in waging a low-intensity taxi war on the route. Free State traffic officials stationed along this route, prevented taxis registered to operate on the route and associated with other taxi associations from transporting passengers and in some cases even damaged the vehicles. Komphela was informed of such instances and wilfully ignored these complaints.

The failure of the MEC and his department to intervene positively in such matters creates the perception that senior public officials might hold interests in the taxi industry and that this volatility serves those interests. Last year the low-intensity taxi war along the Ladybrand and Maseru route resulted in the closure of the Maseru border post, negatively impacting the free movement of people and goods and services between our two countries. The contempt for the course of justice displayed by Komphela is not surprising. It has become the norm for senior ANC leaders from Pres. Jacob Zuma to Police Minister Nathi Nhleko to undermine the spirit and letter of our Constitution and orders of the courts. Komphela’s actions is a clear indication of an inherent ANC culture of not only treating our courts with contempt, but also treating the suffering of our people in this province with contempt.

to get rid of the brick and mortar homes and buildings they utilise, the expensive motor cars they drive, the western clothes they wear, the mining and banking sectors they are greedily ogling and threatening to nationalise, as well as many other obviously inherited benefits. Unlike other colonial powers that have come to rape and take out of the country as much as they can, Afrikaners and British settlers – and their children’s children – are still here and have made a valuable contribution to the development of South Africa. We need to take a stand against ignorance regarding our history and expose it. The CDP would like to add its voice to those of reason. We reject and oppose the sentiments expressed by the ANC and EFF and urge all to work together for a future South Africa free from communist lies, causing hatred and polarisation.

Henyekane’s death mourned ANC YOUTH LEAGUE (ANCYL) in the Northern Cape: THE African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in the Northern Cape Province has learnt with shock and sadness of the passing on of Richard Henyekane. The untimely death of this promising star, who hails from Galeshewe, is without doubt a loss to his family, as well as the soccer fraternity. Henyekane, affectionately known as the “Kimberley Express”, played for Free State Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and represented the country in an exemplary manner when he was chosen to play for Bafana Bafana. He was a disciplined soccer player who never allowed fame to go to his head. Young people should emulate his disciplined outlook and posture, as he died a respected soccer star. The ANCYL extends its sincere sympathies to the family, fans, teammates and the broader reach of South African Football. ) Henyekane played for Free State Stars at the time of his death.

10 Tips for buying your first home Buying your first home is both an exciting and a stressful experience. The joy of owning your own home can sometimes be overshadowed by the concerns that come with acquiring the associated debt. Rhys Dyer, CEO of ooba, South Africa's biggest bond originator, has these ten tips to take the pain out of the process: 1. Save up for a deposit. This is one of the most important things you can do to help yourself obtain a bond at a good rate. The more money you put in at the beginning, the less you will owe and the more inclined a bank will be to take a risk on you.

depends on how much you earn, your expenses and the leftover disposable income you have to service the debt. Most banking and bond originator websites have a home loan calculator which will work out how much you can afford. Use these and then limit your searches to properties in the recommended price range.

requirements. 4. Seek professional advice. Listen to your friends and family, but also seek the help of a reputable bond originator, who are experts in home finance and bond applications, and will give you free, impartial advice. 5. Shop around for your home. Spend some time educating yourself about what's available in the market. Don't buy in haste, without considering the alternatives. When you have a sense of what's out there, you'll be able to make better decisions as an informed buyer.

3. G e t p r e q u a l i fi e d . Free State champs, again

DIKELEDI SOTHOANE has re-written history after leading the Nelson Mandela Primary School’s boys’ soccer team to a second Danone Nations Cup u.12 victory. She guided the school to lifting the trophy a second time successively, at the Free State final held in Bloemfontein on the weekend of 21 March. The Sasolburg-based school won 6-5 on penalties against a gutsy Toka Primary from Bloemfontein. The provincial winner was decided on penalties after the match had ended goalless after regulation time. Sothoane is the first women’s football coach in the Free State to achieve this feat. Last year she led the school, formerly known as Credo, to its first win at the provincial final. She inspired her team to a hard-fought 1-0 win over last year’s runner-up, the Meqheleng Primary School from Ficksburg. Sothoane also became the first women’s soccer coach to lead a team to the national final in 2014. At this year’s national final she will make her second appearance. Sothoane said she had gone to the Free State final believing her young lads would retain the championship. There was, however, a moment of panic when her team was crushed in two matches against Thoriso Primary (0-1) and Toka (0-2). However, Sothoane’s boys fought back gallantly to remain in the tournament, beating Mofulatshepe and Matswathaka 1-0 and 2-0 respectively.

THE South African National Boxing Organisation’s (Sanabo) National Championship got underway on Tuesday (07/04) with elimination rounds in the Kopanong Indoor Sports Centre in Welkom. The five-day competition is for non-professional boxers, both female and male. It will culminate in the final on Saturday (11/04) after which the national team will be announced. Featuring contestants from all nine provinces, the tournament has two categories, juniors (aged 15 and 16) and youths (aged 17 and 18). Both female and males compete on a knockout-basis over three and four rounds to determine the winners, who will ultimately be chosen for the two national squads, female and male. Fusi Hlasoa, Sanabo’s Free State spokesperson, says candidates selected for the national team will represent South Africa at this year’s African Youth Championship in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, in September. This is the first tournament staged by the federation and is a flagship event aimed at nurturing prospective fighters for the elite division. The Free State is represented by a squad of 25 boxers, six females and 19 male boxers. Hlasoa has appealed to the public to assist with accommodation, meals, transport and attire for the provincial team for the duration of the competition. Those willing to assist, may contact Hlasoa on 073-239-6087.

champions was enough motivation for her team to go all the way and lift the trophy after being crowned the 2015 Free State champion.

Sothoane and her young warriors have set their sights on the main challenge: to win the national championship. That will

automatically see them representing South Africa at this year’s Danone Nations Cup’s 16th World Finals in Morocco in October.

After 10 years of struggling, my husband is back at home after mama Linda showed me my enemies in a mirror . We are now a happy, married couple - thank you, mama Linda. My husband stayed with his girlfriend for 10 years. Without him I struggled to support myself and could not even pay our children's school fees. I visited traditional healers, but with no help. Then I heard of Maria Linda on a radio talk show and my neighbour whom he helped and rescued from black magic. I visited mama Linda and paid R200. He told me about my future and my marriage problems. He put a mirror in a dish with water and I saw the faces of my enemies and my husband's girlfriend. He prayed for me and gave me holy water and oil to wash myself. After two days I saw results, my enemies confessed their wrong doings towards me and my husband left his girlfriend and come back home. I'm now happy after visiting mama Linda .

Mr and Mrs Thabo My last resort to bring back my lost lover. Me and my wife Bridget had given up after losing my job and struggling to keep up with my car and house payment. I had to change schools for my children from private schools to government schools because financially we were not stable anymore, but thanks to my in-law who gave me this woman of God's number, she helped me to turn my life around financially by giving me a magic ring which brought back hope into my life. It cost me only R800 and for the first time in my life I went into a casino with my wife and we used our magic to hit a jackpot. Now my house and car are paid off and my children are back in private schools - now life is so wonderful, so in case you are looking for the best healer, please look no more.

My husband is back after 15 years of divorce. Mama Asiha showed me my enemies in a mirror. But now we are together again and very happy. I almost lost hope when my husband asked for a divorce. Living without my husband for 15 years was not easy. I had to support myself financially and consulted top healers, who didn't help. I heard of mama Asiha on the radio and on television, my workmate he had helped with my financial problems. She told me everything that was happening in my life before I said anything to her. She took out all the witchcraft, showed me the 'mirror in a dish of water'. I saw my husband's girlfriend . She prayed for me with her special powers . My enemies confessed now and I'm also now promoted at work . I don't know how to thank mama Asiha, but to make it public. With her magic ring she can protect homes from bad evils.

After 15 years of suffering, I made an appointment with mama Janet and Prof. Kinthi. They checked and told me everything in my life before me even telling them all my problems. They showed me all my enemies using a mirror and water and performed a special prayer for me and now I'm happily married with two kids and I was promoted at work in a short time and they gave me a long life protection. Their specialities include : winning tenders, salary increase, promotion at work, business boost, male and female health problems, weight loss and gain, family issues, love, divorce, marriage, pregnancy, quit alcohol, drugs, smoking, ring of power, gambling, politicians, court case. *All meeting are confidential * Long distance healing power possible

Things in my life went from good to worse in a very short time. My love live, financial problems jealousy, my husband’s family were all against me. Luckily I came across Marria through a friend. She helped me and showed me my enemies through a mirror for only R200. She did miracles in my life. She told me all my problems without mentioning anything to her. She showed me the people who worked hard to see me suffering some of which were my friends and relatives. She performed a special prayer, washed away my bad luck and cleansed my home. Gave me a love potion with a ring for my financial problems in less than five days, my husband was always by my side and my enemies confessed and asked for forgiveness. Come and visit me at Northridge Mall.

RICHARD HENYEKANE has passed on after a car accident in the Free State on Tuesday (07/04). The hard-running Free State Stars hitman, affectionately known in football circles as the “Kimberley Express”, died when the car he was travelling in collided head on with a truck and caught fire on the N5 Road between Kestell and Bethlehem. Henyekane (31) was in the car with four other occupants at the time of the accident – they all died instantly. This was confirmed by Sgt. Christopher Mophiring, who said Henyekane and those with him were apparently travelling from Qwaqwa to Bethlehem. “There were three females and two males in the car at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, all five of them lost their lives. We don’t have the names of the other four people at this stage, but we will divulge their names once we have tracked down their next of kin,” Mophiring told Express. “The driver of the truck was admitted to hospital with minor injuries while the assistant driver, who was asleep when the accident

happened, escaped without injuries. “The exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events are still unclear. But we are investigating a case of culpable homicide.” Mike Mokoena, the owner of Stars, said they were saddened by the sudden death of Henyekane. “It is hard to accept that Richard is no more. I don’t know whether this is bad luck or what. He leaves us at a time when we are battling relegation. Everybody in the team is devastated,” said Mokoena. “He was one of the important players in the team. We are going to miss him. May his soul rest in peace.” Mokoena and his entourage from Stars met with Henyekane’s family in Kimberley yesterday. Henyekane’s death comes four months after his brother Joseph passed away after a short illness. He joined Stars on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns in January 2014. The Henyekane brothers both played for Lamontville Golden Arrows. Henyekane helped Stars to avoid relegation last season. He played his last match for Ea Lla Koto
