‘It is just not worth it’ Stern warning for drunk drivers } Sidwell Guduka

TEBOHO RALEKOALA has warned drivers not to drink and drive this festive season. Ralekoala, who is the assistant director of road safety and capacity building in the Free State’s Department of Police, Roads and Transport, said alcohol at any level would impair motorists’ ability to drive. He spoke to Express during the launch of the Health and Safety For All Campaign held at the Shell Ultra City Pitstop in Bloemfontein on Friday. The annual campaign, which is organised by the Life-Rosepark Hospital and Shell Ultra City Pitstop Bloemfontein – in partnership with the Free State Department of Health and the Department of Police, Roads and Transport – is aimed at encouraging responsible drinking over the Christmas holidays. “When it comes to drinking and driving, our

advice is pretty simple: It is just not worth it. Don’t put lives at risk. The best approach is to have no alcohol at all if you are going to be driving. Prevention is better than cure,’’ Ralekoala told Express. “We would also like to appeal to pedestrians not to drink and walk on our roads. Drunken driving and walking on our roads while under the influence is not only dangerous to you, but to other road users as well.” Ralekoala said traffic officers and the police would be conducting road blocks on major roads in the province during the festive season. “There will be many officers out on the roads doing breath tests and ensuring people are thinking about the dangers of drunk driving. We want to make our roads safer and save lives. “If you drink and drive, then there is a strong

chance that you will be caught and prosecuted.” Hein Rossouw, LifeRosepark Hospital manager, said the primary objective of their campaign was to promote realistic awareness among motorists and travellers in the province on health, emergency and security services. “It is very important at this time of the year to look after our motorists. We need to make sure that they are safe when travelling through our province. They should know that they are safe when they drive in our region,” said Rossouw. Meanwhile, Herman Steyn, owner of Shell Ultra City Bloemfontein, said he was proud to be involved in this initiative. “We appeal to all road users to drive carefully and not drink and drive, so that they can reach their destinations alive,” Steyn said. ) For more stories, log onto www.expressnews.co.za.

Entrepreneurs get a kickstart THIS year’s KickStart entrepreneurship competition’s top three winners in the central region were announced recently at a function held in Bloemfontein. They are Shadrack Litabe (Litabe Technologies in Kroonstad), Solomon Tohlang (Stokvel Business Connect in Bloemfontein) and Carol Kgomo (Maqheleng Waste Management in Ficksburg). They were chosen from ten finalists who made it through to the regional leg. More than 1 000 aspiring entrepreneurs from the central region, including the Free State, Northern Cape and North-West, entered the competition. The entrants came from the Northern Cape town of Kuruman, Free State towns such as Ficksburg, Bloemfontein and Kroonstad, as well as the North-West town of Mafikeng. Funded by the South African Breweries (SAB), the competition is aimed at helping aspiring entrepreneurs realise the dream of establishing their own business through a mentorship programme and funding. A knowledgeable team of the breweries will further conduct an on-site assessment to determine the needs of the three winners, after which the winners will be taught the skills to enable them to sustain their businesses. Through this initiative, more than R64 million has been injected into developing youth-owned businesses, benefiting more than 22 900 young entrepreneurs and helping start 3 200 businesses. The 2013 winner, Tsholofelo Majeng, owner of Maiktronic CC, won R100 000 as the regional winner and made it into the top 18 of the national final. Majeng, from Kuruman, managed to obtain a third place nationally and received a further R300 000 grant and six months of business development mentorship. Her company was established in 2011 and specialises in the manufacture of structural metal products and the supply and installation of electronic and security systems. “The SAB KickStart has helped me

This year, the business has moved from home-based production to a spacious industrial work site and DIY tools have been exchanged for industrial machin-

ery. The KickStart competition is open to previously economically marginalised black South African youth, aged between 18 and 35 years. The selection criteria include the entrepreneur’s business must be 50% black-owned, be in operation for less than

five years and generate less than R5 million in revenue. Entrants must also show that they employ less than 15 individuals, have high growth potential and a sustainable competitive advantage. ) For more stories, visit www.expressnews.co.za.

All life’s seasons have a purpose I HAVE learned a great lesson from a gardener friend: some plants are annuals, which means they bloom yearly, only once, while others are perennials – they last beyond a year, producing several or many blooms. It is important to know the difference. If you spend a great deal of time and energy trying to get an annual plant to live beyond its life-span, you will likely be very frustrated and disappointed. Know what you are dealing with. Some projects, some results, some jobs and relationships are for the short-term of your life. Others are for longer “seasons” and some are even for eternity. Overall, life tends to have “seasons”. Evaluate which one you may be in now and recognise that all seasons have a purpose. Winter is the time to reflect by the fire-place, rest and allow your body to be restored and your mind and emotions to be healed. Do not allow yourself to be discouraged. Do not let “grey days” overwhelm you. Do not focus on what was in the past, and do not daydream too much about the spring ahead.

My view Thabo Mosole Life coach Eventually, the winter ends. Maybe you have lost your job, someone you love, your house or your car due to an accident – know that this season is temporary. Spring is a season of renewal and growth. New things begin and this is a time for new ventures. It is not enough just to plan a garden, you must actually plant a garden if you want vegetables or flowers. Consult with others who are experiencing the kind of harvest you one day hope to experience. Discover how they began their career or ministry. Take advantage of their wisdom and learn from them about what works and what does not. Then take the first steps necessary for turning your dreams

into reality. Summer days can seem long and hot, but this is necessary for cultivating and irrigating. The work can seem tedious at times, the good that you know to do. Hang in there until the project is complete. If you are a parent, you may have to remind yourself to be patient until your child moves through a particular phase of his or her life. If you are in the middle of a campaign or long-term programme, persevere in maintaining your momentum and in doing what you know is right before God. The harvest does eventually come in autumn. It is the time for rejoicing in your fruitfulness, for reaping rewards and for sharing

Some projects, some results, some jobs and relationships are for the shortterm of your life. Others are for longer “seasons”, and some are even for eternity. God’s goodness with family and friends. Maybe in this year you got what your heart desired – your dream job, the chance to buy a dream house or car, the opportunity to marry someone you had dreamed about, or maybe you completed your degree. The external “seasons” of our lives are more obvious than the internal ones. As a part of identifying the seasons of life, keep this principle in mind: All situations are temporary, life is a process. Do not become discour-

aged with the season you are in. Do not take for granted the season you are sovereignly assigned to. Learn to enjoy the beauty of each moment. Trust God to bring your life to a “happy ending”. May God open doors of happiness and prosperity in 2015. God bless, until we continue together on the path in 2015. ) Contribute to this column by sending your piece, of no more than 500 words, to Jabulani.Dlamini@volksblad.com, or call 051-404-7910.

Stalwart remembered THE legendary Mangaung businessman Taelo “Nicos” Molosioa’s life was recently celebrated by fellow businesspeople, family, friends and locals at his iconic supermarket in Bochabela’s Britz Road. The modest celebration was held to celebrate the life of the late businessman who died in 2004 at the age of 56. Nico’s Supermarket in Britz Road, which Molosioa opened in 1972, has been in operation for the last 42 years and is still operated by his wife, Mmabatho. Molosioa is still regarded as a pioneer and stalwart in the black business community with many Mangaung businesspeople attesting that Molosioa had groomed and mentored them. As a way to honour his memory, the main road in the suburb of Phase 2 was named after him. Among those who attended the commemoration were Zandi Twayi of Twilight Funerals, Dolly and Freddy Kenny, Russell and Elaine Murison of Moods and Fla-

vours and ANC veteran Custa Kitsa. As part of the event, food parcels were also handed out to the needy in line with Molosioa’s spirit of Ubuntu and sharing.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR HAPPINESS, PEACE, PROSPERITY, LOVE AND GOOD HEALTH? My dearest friends and fellow Africans, do not waste time and money to take spiritualists who promise and don’t deliver. I guarantee you. The Great Papa Magi will never disappoint you. Only one visit to him and you will live smiling. I am OMIE SINGH, a resident of Pietermaritzburg, after I saw an article in the paper saying that The Great Papa Magi charges only R200. I believed in him, I booked an appointment and met with him at his beautiful temple. In Bloemfontein at Waverley next to spar. Before I met him, I was struggling financially and I could not stay in relationships, whoever came in my life, and then something happened and my girlfriend left me. It was like a bad omen on me, but after I saw The Great Papa Magi, he touched my forehead and palms, and prayed for me and told me to wait for seven days. In just 3 days, my girlfriend requested us to meet with her at their home. On arrival, she knelt down and told me she was ready to be my wife. We made a great wedding and are happy now. The Great Papa Magi is the right person to solve our society problems. You can find him at Waverley Bloemfontein next to Spar. Thanks to him again.

You can also visit him - there will be a gradual change in your life: 079 125 8327, www.healerram.webs.com X1PK78W1-EX171214

TESTIMONY

Mr and Mrs Thabo My last resort to bring back my lost lover. Me and my wife Bridget had given up after losing my job and struggling to keep up with my car and house payment. I had to change schools for my children from private schools to government schools because financially we were not stable anymore, but thanks to my in-law who gave me this woman of God's number, she helped me to turn my life around financially by giving me a magic ring which brought back hope into my life. It cost me only R800 and for the first time in my life I went into a casino with my wife and we used our magic to hit a jackpot. Now my house and car are paid off and my children are back in private schools - now life is so wonderful, so in case you are looking for the best healer, please look no more.

Just CALL MAMA DAVID 079 753 2854. She can also help men with sexual enlargement to all sizes. Visit her in Bayswater next to Spar.

Things in my life went from good to worse in a very short time. My love live, financial problems jealousy, my husband’s family were all against me. Luckily I came across Sonia through a friend. She helped me and showed me my enemies through a mirror for only R200. She did miracles in my life. She told me all my problems without mentioning anything to her. She showed me the people who worked hard to see me suffering some of which were my friends and relatives. She performed a special prayer, washed away my bad luck and cleansed my home. Gave me a love potion with a ring for my financial problems in less than five days, my husband was always by my side and my enemies confessed and asked for forgiveness. Come and visit me at Bayswater.

XOLILE MADIKANE, the Cape Town Roses coach, has expressed his delight with the team winning the 2014 Sasol League national title. His side defeated Gauteng’s Palace Super Falcons 2-1 in an exciting final played at a windy Isaac Wolfson Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Sunday. “I’m over the moon with winning this trophy. We have been trying to win it without success in the previous years. We thank God we have done it eventually,” said Madikane. “It feels so good to be a champion. I want to thank the players for winning this trophy for the Western Province’s people. I’m very proud of my players,” added the coach. The team won all their matches in the tournament, beating the Coastal United Ladies 5-1 in their opening match. They followed up that victory with more wins against the Royal Wizards (16-0) from the Northern Cape and the Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies (3-0). In the semifinals, Roses overpowered Limpopo’s Kanatla Ladies 3-0 to book themselves a place in the final. The former Banyana Banyana striker Nocawe Skiti scored all Roses’ goals in the final. “I really don’t have the right words to describe how I feel about our achievement. I’m happy for myself and the rest of the team,” Skiti said. “We deserved to win the final because we wanted it more.” Tyron Damons, Falcons coach, wore the expression of a disappointed man after the match. “I really don’t know what happened today. I told my girls to score an early goal to unsettle Roses, but it didn’t happen,” said Damons. “The best team won, I must say. Congratulations to them.”
