SO you think you can sing or dance? Then the Bloem Show Computicket Talent Search Competition is your opportunity. The event, which is in its second year, organised by the Bloem Show in conjunction with Computicket, Pacofs and Kovsie FM, is looking for young people who can either sing or dance. Elmarie Prinsloo, CEO of the Bloem Show, said the main objective of the project was to identify and assist talented young artists to start a career. “We are seeking talented individuals or groups who are gifted in either singing or dancing. They must be between the ages of 18 and 30 with no professional experience,” Prinsloo told Express. “Only dancing and singing will be allowed. Performances may not be longer than three minutes. No bands are allowed, we want only back tracks and acoustic,” explained Prinsloo. Singers and dancers are invited for auditions to be held at the André Huguenet Theatre in Bloemfontein. They will perform before a panel of judges on Saturday (14/03). “Registration will be done from 08:00 until 13:00. It is compulsory to register for auditions. Nobody will be allowed to take part in auditions without registering,” said Prinsloo. The top ten finalists in each category will be shortlisted and they will then participate in an exciting workshop aimed at developing their skills. It will be hosted by Pacofs on Sunday (15/03). The semi-finals of the competition will be held on 21 March and five finalists will be chosen in each category.

The remaining ten finalists will strutt their stuff at the Thakaneng Bridge on the campus of the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein on 16 April at 13:00.
The voting concert, where the audience will be given the opportunity to vote for their favourite performers, is scheduled for 23 April at 17:30 on the Bloem Show’s Clover Stage.
The final will take place at the same venue on 30 April, starting at 18:30. The winner of the competion will walk away with a cheque of R10 000, while the runner-up will bank a cool
R5 000. The third prize is R2 500 and the remaining seven finalists will receive R500 each. For more information, call 051-448-9894 or send an email to info@bloemskou.co.za.

Small business owners addressed SMALL BUSINESS MINISTER LINDIWE ZULU will address key stakeholders in the small and township business sector on Friday (20/02) at the Emoya Estate in Bloemfontein starting at 08:00. According to a statement released on Monday (16/02) by the Free State Department of Economic Development, Tourism, Environmental Affairs and Small Business Development, small and township businesses are critical for local economic development. Foreign traders have also become an integral part of this equation.

The department said the available body of research indicated that the pre-2000 landscape of South Africa’s township business was dominated by small, mainly informal businesses referred to as spaza or tuck shops. Research shows that there is a need for these businesses to be attended to or given the attention it deserves. It is for this reasons that the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs and Small Business Development, Mosebenzi Zwane, has called

I CALL upon parents, business people and professionals to participate in the upcoming School Governing EDUCATION MEC, Body (SGB) elections Tate Makgoe. taking place between 6 and 28 March. Voting gives people the electorate power to exercise their democratic right. By voting, electorates will be able to give a specific direction of how to govern their schools to improve teacher and learner discipline and improve scholastic performance. I urge voters to choose resourceful community builders with relevant experience in different spheres to ensure that SGB members are drawn from all walks of life and embody a diverse representation. A school governing body must ensure that a school is governed in the best interest of all the stakeholders; members must always put the best interest of the school before any personal interest. The SGB is made up of elected members, the principal by virtue of his or her official capacity and co-opted members. In a case of a special school, it should be composed as follows: parents of learners enrolled at the school, if reasonably, teachers at the school, members of staff at the school who are not teachers, learners in gr. 8 or higher and a representative of an organisation of parents with special needs, sponsoring bodies, organisations of disabled persons, disabled persons, experts in relevant fields of special needs education and the principal by virtue of his or her official capacity. According to the South African Act, it stipulates that an SGB must: adopt a constitution setting out how the SGB will operate and help the principal, teachers and other staff members to perform their professional functions. Other key responsibilities of the SGB are: decision making, planning, conflict management, team building and negotiation and school finances. About 1 400 schools are expected to participate in the 2015 SGB election. The importance of a school governing body cannot be over-emphasised. Education is a social responsibility and through the SGB, public participation is ensured.

MCC inmates to bring claim } Ruth Hopkins THE 43 inmates who allege they were tortured by warders in a Bloemfontein prison are preparing to bring their claim before the British High Court. British law firm Leigh Day is representing the prisoners and served an urgent “letter of claim” to security giant G4S’s headquarters in Crawley in the United Kingdom on 12 February. G4S won a R15 billion, 25-year contract in 2000 to build, run and manage the Mangaung Correctional Centre (MCC). “The instructions we have received from our clients attest to a culture of abuse and fear that appears to have been endemic in the MCC for years,” Leigh Day’s letter to G4S reads. “Many allegations involve inmates being taken to solitary cells where there are no cameras, stripped naked and forced on to a metal bed, with water thrown on them, before being repeatedly shocked with electric shields, including to the head and genitals. “These incidents are alleged to have been accompanied by brutal assaults, verbal abuse and in some cases serious racial abuse.” The firm is also acting for the mother of a former inmate who died in custody. In October 2013, the Wits Justice Project revealed that the Emergency Security Team – warders armed with electric shields and batons who are called to emergency situations – allegedly assaulted inmates routinely. Inmates, warders and other sources have claimed that the security team would kick, punch and electro-shock inmates with their shields, after first dousing them with
THE Free State-based hip-hop group The Fraternity, which consist of Kabelo “Mac Bow” Masia (left), Thapelo “Muzee” Moholo (middle) and Katlego “Slick” Ditshidi, released a music video of their hit song Bheka Mina Ngedwa. The video, which was produced by Kyle White, was shot in Bloemfontein. It made its television debut on SABC 1’s LiveAmp last week and will be played on e.tv’s Club 808 on Friday (20/02). The song Bheka Mina Ngedwa has been nominated for the Metro FM Music Awards. Photo: Karabo Pascal Tau THE way to the Mangaung Correctional Centre. water. Leaked video footage shot inside the prison also revealed that an inmate – who had no record of mental illness – was forcibly injected, seemingly with antipsychotic drugs. A total of 12 of Leigh Day’s clients claim they were forcibly injected. Violence at the Mangaung prison was exacerbated by G4S’s dismissal of about 330 warders in September 2013 following a prolonged strike. The situation spiralled out of control and the Department of Correctional Services stepped in and took control of the prison. In August, G4S was handed back control of the jail. A government investigation into the alleged abuse has been finalised, but not yet released. In November last year South African attorney Egon Oswald, who is collaborating with the British lawyers, was denied access to the Mangaung prison by correctional services. Oswald has clients in the prison who allege they were abused while in the care of G4S, but he says a department official told him he

could not consult with his clients. If the claim is successful, it will be a landmark case for prisoners incarcerated with the biggest security provider in the world. G4S runs eight prisons and several immigration and juvenile detention centres. Its annual revenues are £7,4 billion (R132 billion). With 618 000 employees in 120 countries, it is the largest employer quoted on the London Stock Exchange. Leigh Day has given the security giant three months in which to provide a response. If G4S – which has to date categorically denied allegations of electro-shocking and forced medication – declines to settle, the case is expected to go to the High Court in London later this year. A G4S spokesperson said the company, “insists on the highest standards of care and we do not tolerate the mistreatment of prisoners”. ) Hopkins is a journalist with the Wits Justice Project. ) This story first appeared in City Press on Sunday, 15 February.

Help to deal with violence THE Department of Police, Roads and Transport in the Free State will embark on a massive campaign to raise awareness on domestic violence in Qwaqwa, the Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality and Cornelia in the Mafube Local Municipality. The aim is to educate communities about domestic violence and to inform them about their legal rights in instances thereof. It is a serious crime against society and has unacceptable incidence in South Africa. The victims are the most vulnerable members of society. The Domestic Violence Act, 1998 (Act no. 116 of 1998) classifies domestic violence into five sections: physical, emotional, sexual, financial and child abuse. ) The domestic violence awareness campaign, which starts today (18/02) at 10:00 in the Tsheseng Village in Qwaqwa, will also be rolled out to the Makwane Village and Cornelia at the community hall tomorrow (19/2) at 10:00.

CHAOS! The State of the Nation Address by President Jacob Zuma was interrupted by members of the EFF and security was called in. EFF members of parliament were forcibly removed from the national assembly. Photo: Lerato Maduna
Real state of the nation SOUTH AFRICA as a nation is not in an entirely bad state, but certainly not in a good state either. Since 1994 when the new political leaders came into power, the state of our nation has been that of “bietjie bietjie maak baie”. To date, many South African have been wondering with a deep sense of concern why every president continues to deliver a State of the Nation Address that says nothing of substance about the state of the citizens in a free and democratic country like ours. Many, like me, who have been at great pains to want to understand and simplify the State of the Nation, have been left to wonder with great concern that all the presidents since 1994 have said things that do not reflect the reality of our nation. Every year a new theme is adopted; every year there is great emphasis on the acceleration of service delivery; every year there is great emphasis on busting corruption; every year there is great emphasis on the improvement of education; every year there is great emphasis on increasing the number of entrepreneurs; every year there is great emphasis on reducing crime and abuse; and every year since 1994 the words in the prepared script of the SONA are given more firepower in order to encourage people to continue holding on to hope. The president must know that some of the same things can be said a lot of times with new words and vigour, but to continue saying the same things to the same people will at some point mean nothing at all. Perhaps, Mr President, now is the time that you listen to the actual state of the nation through the mouths and experiences of those representing the nation. The state of the nation since 1994 has been that white people continue to live a prosperous life; the state of our nation has been that black young people continue to be drop-outs at school and having a very bleak

future indeed. The state of the nation, Mr President, is that to some villagers in Libode in the rural areas of the Eastern Cape, electricity is still a wild dream; in Jozini also, Mr President, at a place called Hlalanathi the moon and the sun are the only lights people know. Mr President, whose State of the Nation Address is it anyway? When we still continue to have farms called Kaffirfontein in Steynsrus? Surely, Mr President, the State of the Nation Address is not directed at us when up to today we continue to have street kids roaming the streets of Johannesburg and Welkom without any concerted effort from the state to help them. We have heard from the Auditor-General, Mr President, that over R60 billion is unaccounted for as a result of people in service of the republic being unaccountable. Mr President, if the State of the Nation Address was a true reflection of our living conditions, we would never even bother to disturb you. But we are forced to disturb you, Mr President, because we want to know whose State of the Nation Address is it anyway that you, Mr President, and all those who came before you, reflect upon. Mr President, we believe that it is high time that the State of the Nation Address is told as it is, including the issues of poverty, crime, no electricity, unemployed youths, corrupt black people, corrupt white people, companies that continue to see black people
as nothing but working tools, and service delivery that is of poor quality. Mr President, you are getting old and many of the current national leadership are old too. At some point we will have to take power as the rightful heirs of this God-given land. The work we will do, will give us the opportunity to change our own living conditions. We are going to show that your legacy – and the legacy of those that came before you – was nothing but a slow period of development and empowerment. Because a lot of things, Mr President, are going to drastically change for the better. We advise you that for now - because you still have the opportunity, to leave the state of the nation in a good way - we urge you to vigorously achieve that mission, in your lifetime, of truly accelerating the efforts to change the lives of the majority of citizens for the better. Our patience, Mr President, has run out. We live every day seeking to change this sad state of our nation and the time will come when everyone has been mobilised. When that process has been completed, we shall rise up to get back our power that we voluntarily gave to you and those who came before you in every election since 1994. Then the people’s power shall revert back to the rightful owners who are the people themselves. The people will determine their own future, craft their own destiny and consolidate their determination to truly achieve a society of prosperity and better living conditions. We shall ask again, Mr President, whose State of the Nation Address is it anyway? ) Send your contribution for this column, of no more than 500 words, to jabulani.dlamini@volksblad.com, as well as a head and shoulders shot of the writer.

My husband is back after 15 years of divorce. Mama Asiha showed me my enemies in a mirror. But now we are together again and very happy. I almost lost hope when my husband asked for a divorce. Living without my husband for 15 years was not easy. I had to support myself financially and consulted top healers, who didn't help. I heard of mama Asiha on the radio and on television, my workmate he had helped with my financial problems. She told me everything that was happening in my life before I said anything to her. She took out all the witchcraft, showed me the 'mirror in a dish of water'. I saw my husband's girlfriend . She prayed for me with her special powers . My enemies confessed now and I'm also now promoted at work . I don't know how to thank mama Asiha, but to make it public. With her magic ring she can protect homes from bad evils.

All these are produced by demons whose intention it is to stop you from focusing on Jesus Christ. John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world. “ Here Jesus says “I overcame the world”. Jesus is simply agreeing that it is true you will face trouble of all kinds, but He overcame all of
them just for you, meaning that even if there are reasons to be troubled, there is in fact a Greater reason not to be troubled. Now our focus should be on God who overcame for us and not be on the situations we find ourselves in and which are preventing us from achieving our purpose in life. Further reading: Anah (1 Samuel 1:1) . . . did not focus on her barrenness but rather focused on God and
she was blessed. Genesis 37: Joseph did not focus on his many and seemingly unending troubles, but on God and later on he was extremely blessed. God bless you dear readers. For more of these kinds of teachings please visit us at the New Horizon Ministry at the Joe Solomon School in Heidedal every Sunday from 09:00. You can also SMS your prayer requests to 071-214-9404. ) If you have an uplifting message to share, please send your contribution of about 400 words and your name and title to Jabulani.Dlamini@volksblad.com ) Contributions received by midday on Friday will be considered for Wednesday’s publication.
Stereotypes about girls still prevail IN a press release by GGi Communication, it is said that South Africa has a shortage of learners pursuing engineering at tertiary level. One reason is the stereotype that boys are more suited to it. How are parents and teachers silently reinforcing this stereotype? Most people grew up in homes where the split of household chores depended on gender. Girls cooked and cleaned, while the boys did the
hard work. There families that support their daughters to choose the careers they want. However, sometimes teachers undermine a child’s desire to be more. How many girls believe what their teachers say and do not aspire to be more because, based on location, circumstance and gender, they are not encouraged? Child psychologist Ashley Jay says this
happens more than we think. “Children often witness their mothers coming home after work and doing what is often called the ‘second shift’ of cooking, home administration and helping with homework at night time,” says Jay. This may also serve to reinforce gender stereotypes when the mother’s daily work is not taken into account, regardless of her profession. X1PR1CUM-EX180215

HOLLOW victory. President Jacob Zuma continues to deliver his State of the Nation Address despite empty opposition benches. Members of the EFF were forcefully removed from the chambers, while DA members staged a walk-out after National Assembly speaker, Baleka Mbete, failed to answer the question posed by the DA parliamentary leader, Mmusi Maimane. Photo: Lerato Maduna
THE 2015 State of the Nation Address (SONA15) definitely kicked the parliamentary year off with a bang. The SONA15 red carpet was graced by the controversial Mandla Mandela and his wife, the popular TV show host Dali Tambo and his wife, Rachel Tambo, as well as musician Arthur Mafokate. Before the SONA could start, there was chanting by the journalists and opposition members of parliament in the national assembly chambers demanding that the speaker “bring back the signal. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) were forcibly removed from the national assembly chambers. The DA also left when the chairperson of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), Thandi Modise, was unable to clarify whether the men in white shirts were members of the SAPS.

Experts focus on health THE Motheo TVET College last Wednesday (11/02) hosted a health and wellness presentation organised by Dr J. Shikhibane at its centre in Bloemfontein. Health experts enlightened staff members about the benefits of healthy life styles. Dr D. Mushavi expanded on the importance of productivity, a positive mental attitude and a holistic health approach as key contributors to a healthy work force. Issues such as poverty, the high mortality rate, unemployment and ill health were discussed. Various presentations tackled pressing issues such as the harsh reality of infant and child mortality rates. Presenters stressed the fact that each individual was responsible for his or her own healthy lifestyle. It is important to utilise all
the facilities provided by the government to prevent sicknesses and diseases beforehand. Prof S.A. Brown, a specialist in pediatrics and child health of the University of the Free State, expressed the importance of early detection of illnesses, especially in babies. Also present during the presentation was Dr A. Venter of the same specialist unit. Free State Care in Action shed light on the importance of social responsibility endeavours, that in order to help others one has to have an entrepreneurial approach in securing funding. Sister Mbuli, CUT Health Centre and Services, joined the team of health experts. The presentations were indeed informative and even produced solutions and proved once again that living healthily is an investment in the future.
THE Pelonomi Private Hospital (PPH) will hold a pregnancy awareness day on Saturday, (28/02) to mark Pregnancy Awareness Week. According to Sydney Masalla, general manager at the PPH, this is a wonderful opportunity for expectant mothers and their partners to get the answers to the many questions they may have about pregnancy, birth and postnatal care. “Netcare believes in empowering women who are pregnant or who want to fall pregnant by making information available on health during pregnancy, how to prepare for the birth, various delivery options and what to expect after the baby’s birth,” says Masalla. “The pregnancy awareness day is an excellent opportunity to help parents-to-be prepare for this remarkable journey. Expectant mothers and their partners will have the opportuni-
ty to interact with medical professionals such as gynaecologists and obstetricians, paediatricians, a dietician and a physiotherapist, who will all be there to offer advice.” Aspects to be discussed include women’s health during pregnancy, complications in pregnancy, the importance of child immunisation, physiotherapy and pregnancy as well as nutrition during pregnancy. “We are excited to be presenting a number of speakers from a variety of fields related to pregnancy. This is a remarkable journey that these women have embarked upon and we want to ensure they make the most of it,” Masalla says. ) The free pregnancy information session will be from 13:00 to 15:30. Booking is essential. Call Desiree Ngxande on 051-407-1596 or send email to desiree.ngxande@netcare.co.za to confirm attendance.

Energy: SA ‘not in crisis’ THERE is no energy crisis in South Africa. This is according to the head of the African Energy Indaba, who sees a positive way forward in the energy sector. Brian Statham, chairperson of the South African National Energy Association and the African Energy Indaba, told Fin24 at the indaba that Eskom had to be allowed to get on with its job. “I define a crisis as when you’re in a state of turmoil, (when) you’re in absolute panic and you don’t have a clue what to do about it,” Statham said. “In that sense, we’re not in a crisis.
“We know what needs to be done. What we need now is just to get our ducks in a row and focus on implementing the correction procedures and processes that need to be put in place.” He said it was dependent on Eskom focusing on its core job, the entry of Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) into the market, the success of the renewable programme and the implementation of the independent power bids for the coal-fire generation. “If those all move the way we hope they will, then we will see our way clear.” – Fin24.com

Club happy with project’s success
HELPING OUT: Members of the Big Brothers Social Club with children of the Hug-a-bag Crèche in Ehrlich Park following the club’s donation of basic essentials to the crèche last week. Photo: Supplied
THE Big Brothers Social Club recently decided to live out the ideals of former president Nelson Mandela and help their fellow man by identifying a pre-school to assist with donations. As part of the 67 minutes campaign, inspired by the former statesman, the club identified the Hug-a-bag Pre-school in Ehrlich Park as the beneficiary of their goodwill project. Through sponsorship and donations from several local business people, as well as national retailers, the club donated tables, chairs, stationery, balloons, mattresses and goody bags. According to Thabang Chalale, the club’s chairman, the donations they received to be able to reach out to the crèche went beyond their wildest expectations. “The response was overwhelming, as the little we gathered was not expected,” Chalale said. He said as a social club, it was the first time they had attempted this and that they wanted to extend a hand to other needy organisations or individuals. “As a result we want to humbly ask our local business people to lend a hand in the project. We will welcome any type of donations.” The club can be contacted through Chalale on 082-501-5822 or through Phopolo Maimane, the club secretary, on 082-253-4043.
Healthy heart brightens future } Marsy Greyling and Ashleigh Fincham JUST because you do not see the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle, unfortunately the consequences will at some stage be knocking on your door. Invest in your heart and enjoy a longer, healthy life. Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death. Here are a few strategies to reduce your chances of getting heart disease: Stop smoking Smoking is to blame for 35% of deaths due to heart disease. The use of tobacco may cause blood clot formation and abnormal heart rhythms. The risks increases with the amount of cigarettes you smoke per day and low-tar cigarettes have the same effect. Remember that any type of exposure, even second-hand smoke, may increase your risk. Exercise Being active will reduce your risk for heart disease and increases HDL (the good) cholesterol. Physical activity can also aid in weight management, improve blood sugar level control and help reduce blood pressure. Elevated blood sugar levels may be an indication of pre-diabetes. Eat a hand full Enjoy a variety of at least five fruits and vegetables each day. Try to include green

leafy vegetables as well as orange and red ones. By eating fruits and vegetables you will also increase your fibre intake. Fruits and vegetables are low in fat and energy, and contain vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which keep your heart healthy. Maintain a healthy weight Body mass index (BMI) and heart diseases are related – the risk is greater with an increase in BMI. Aim to keep your BMI below 25 (BMI = weight (kg)/ height(m)²). Body shape and fat store location may also influence your risk for heart disease. Therefore a waist circumference of less than 88 cm in women and less than 102 cm in men is recommended. Even a slight weight loss of only 5%, may help to improve cholesterol levels, blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Get checked regularly Regular screening of cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as blood pressure, will allow you to manage your health and therefore reduce your risk of getting heart disease and keep you healthy for longer. Remember – a healthy lifestyle is as simple as making better choices. If it is about nutrition, ask a dietician. ) Marsy Greyling and Ashleigh Fincham are fourth-year Dietetics students at the University of the Free State (UFS).

Runners honoured JUNIOR athletes from in and around Bloemfontein were honoured last Wednesday (11/02) as the Nedbank Bloemfontein Achilles Junior Running Club awarded them by handing over kits. The handover took place at the Nedbank Bloemfontein Achilles Racing Club where six athletes received supplements, shoes and brand-new kits for the season. The club was established in March 2014 to promote the development of the athletes. The mission is to groom and produce the good athletes of tomorrow. Due to a lack of long- and shortdistance runners in Bloemfontein, the club was established to give children a platform to showcase their talents and to fill the gap. The club works hand in hand with schools in the township to give children the opportunity to discover their talents. These schools include the Lereko Secondary School, Hodisa Technical School, Tsholohelo Primary, Atang Primary and Toka Primary where talented learners are identified. They furthermore cater for track,
field, cross-country and road running. The children are monitored, mentored and trained by the club at the Mangaung Outdoor Sports Centre and Lereko Secondary School. Coach David Molhiselwa gives training in the week and Leonard Jingose on weekends. The two coaches primarily focus on speed and endurance. “We encourage the children to not only focus on athletics, but also education. They need proper structures and development and that is what we provide as a club,” said Jingose. The ultimate vision of the club is to send athletes to club nationals and to the Nedbank elite athletes green team to participate for higher honours. In 2014 more than 30 of the club’s junior athletes represented the Free State team at the South African cross-country championships in George. Three of the club’s athletes also competed at the South African half-marathon championships in Pretoria and another three represented the club at the South African school cross-country championships in Pretoria while one junior athlete competed at the South African country trails.

Contact Mama Asiha for an appointment on 081 095 9948. X1PR4TWH-EX180215

EXPRESS, WEDNESDAY 18 FEBRUARY 2015
After 10 years of struggling, my husband is back at home after mama Linda showed me my enemies in a mirror . We are now a happy, married couple - thank you, mama Linda. My husband stayed with his girlfriend for 10 years. Without him I struggled to support myself and could not even pay our children's school fees.

I visited traditional healers, but with no help. Then I heard of Maria Linda on a radio talk show and my neighbour whom he helped and rescued from black magic. I visited mama Linda and paid R200. He told me about my future and my marriage problems. He put a mirror in a dish with water and I saw the faces of my enemies and my husband's girlfriend. He prayed for me and gave me holy water and oil to wash myself. After two days I saw results, my enemies confessed their wrong doings towards me and my husband left his girlfriend and come back home. I'm now happy after visiting mama Linda .

Proteas impress AB } Lerato Malekutu AB DE VILLIERS has praised the character and fight of the Castle Lager Proteas’ middle order in getting his team over the line in their opening ICC Cricket World Cup match against Zimbabwe at Seddon Park on Sunday (15/02). The record unbeaten 256-run fifth wicket partnership between David Miller (138 not out) and JP Duminy (115 not out) laid the foundation for the Proteas’ opening victory of the tournament, and was a timely confidence boost for the middle order after a rare top-order failure. “It was very pleasing to sit on the side and watch that,” De Villiers said after the match. “We were talking about 240 to 250 at one stage, and ended up getting that. I don’t know how we did it, but it was an incredible performance by the two of them. “David got a sniff in the 40th over, and went to it from there. “We’ve seen him demolish attacks before and that’s what he’s capable of. “To see that, at the highest level in the biggest tournament you can get, is great. It shows you where this guy is (Miller) going with his cricket career.
“To get JP in good form as well – he’s been a little bit out of touch with injuries – to see him bat like that is very pleasing.” De Villiers was equally impressed with the tenacity shown by Zimbabwe, and tipped them to upset a big nation further on in the tournament. “I’m very happy with the performance,” De Villiers said of his team. “You’ve got to give credit to Zimbabwe, they played a really good game today. “No doubt that the wicket played a big part in them getting ahead early on. It was a really difficult wicket to bat on in the first 20 overs. “The wicket got a little easier in our innings and David and JP made full use of that. “They played exceptionally well with a great partnership that won us the game today. I’m very, very satisfied with our first win. “These guys (Zimbabwe) can play some cricket. “Like I said before, they beat Australia not long ago, and I won’t be surprised if they upset a couple of teams in this World Cup.” The squad has been given two days off and will begin their preparations for their second match against India in Melbourne today (18/02).

TORNADO FC will be a largely unknown entity for Orlando Pirates in today’s (18/02) Nedbank Cup Last-32 fixture in the Orlando Stadium. For Jerry Sikhosana’ side to have qualified to play in this stage of the competition shows that that they have some good things going for them, and these minnows will be out to perform a giant-killing act against Erick Tinkler’s trophy-hungry side in Soweto, Johannesburg. In today’s other Ke Yona encounter, Mpumalanga Black Aces welcome Maritzburg United to the Mbombela Stadium. Both matches kick off at 19:30. On Friday (20/02), struggling Amazulu entertain their neighbours Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium at 20:00. While Kaizer Chiefs will be an open book to the third division side Edu Sports FC on Saturday (21/02) at 15:00, the Soweto giants should approach this game with caution, as small teams have caused major upsets before. On Sunday (22/02) Bloemfontein Celtic will battle it out against Roses United in the Free State Stadium at 15:00. African Warriors will take on Maluti FET College in a derby match in the Charles Mopeli Stadium at 15:00. Bafana not to face Messi SHAKES MASHABA has confirmed that Bafana Bafana will play Australia in Durban next month instead of Argentina. According to KickOff, Fifa’s website confirmed that the national side were due to square off against Argentina, with the likes of superstars Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria all in the running to take on Mashaba’s men in an international friendly. The match against the World Cup runners-up has now fallen through, according to the Bafana Bafana coach. “We would have loved to play Argentina, but the Socceroos are not going to be pushovers,” Mashaba said. Bafana Bafana are now expected to line up against Australia on Saturday (28/02) in the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. This will be South Africa’s first competitive match since dropping out of Afcon 2015 in the group stages. – Sport24.co.za
HE MADE MY BUSINESS TO GROW AND MY FINANCE TO BE CONTROLLED: I have my own business for 15 years doing well and making a lot of savings, but things began turning bad and started registering losses. My life began to fall apart, the banks were after my properties for the loans I had failed to pay. My wife and children left as I could no longer take care of them. I visited many healers, but with no positive results. I heard of MR JACOB who had helped so many people, I visited him to read my past and future - he charged me R150. I was shocked to find out that my nephew was doing the black magic on me. JACOB cleansed me and a month later I began to see progress in my business with lots of savings. Am now happy with my family which had left me because I couldn't support them anymore. THANKS TO MR JACOB who saved my life.

My family and job was saved by Maama Regain (Powerful water)
Maama Regain is a fantastic and powerful woman. I had tried several sangomas on internet and things never worked. This is when I found her number in this newspaper and called her and explained to her my family and job problems with a consultation of R100. To be honest, she was my last resort. She talked to me and helped me with her powerful water that helped me like no one else did. I was promoted at work and my family problems were solved. Thank you so much for your help. I advise everyone to contact Maama Regain for any problems. She is my healer and I respect her.

Things in my life went from good to worse in a very short time. My love live, financial problems jealousy, my husband’s family were all against me. Luckily I came across Marria through a friend. She helped me and showed me my enemies through a mirror for only R200. She did miracles in my life. She told me all my problems without mentioning anything to her. She showed me the people who worked hard to see me suffering some of which were my friends and relatives. She performed a special prayer, washed away my bad luck and cleansed my home. Gave me a love potion with a ring for my financial problems in less than five days, my husband was always by my side and my enemies confessed and asked for forgiveness. Come and visit me at Northridge Mall.
