Classifieds
Members can run a FREE 35-word classified ad once each year!
Regular classified ads are $1 per word for NCSG members, and $2 per word for non-members. Classified ads are non-commissionable and must be pre-paid.
ADVERTORIALS
Do you have a unique story about your business or useful tip for fellow sweeps?
Advertorials are paid advertisements in the form of an article. PLUS you get a regular ad with it. Offered at the price of a full page ad, it can be up to three pages (including regular ad). With this, you will submit an article about your company’s history, challenges or human interest feature, and include an offer to members for services or products at a discounted rate. Additionally, you also receive one FREE banner ad (570x90px) and one FREE Supplier Spotlight ad (570x400) in eNews both in a single month, or spread out between two months. See next page for example of layout and content.
Requirements
z Article length: 500 - 1250 words with images, plus half page ad space. { Full page ad can be substituted for half page ad as long as article length does not exceed the 3 page limit. Full or half page ad must be supplied.
z Must provide at least one, high resolution image. Image cannot be copyrighted or pulled from web searches like Google; photos submitted must be owned or purchased. If you do not have images, stock images can be placed as a courtesy from the editorial board at an additional fee ($50).
z Company logo, or headshot of the author must be provided.
z Article must include a discount or special offer for NCSG members.
z All advertorials will have “PAID ADVERTORIAL” placed above the article by editing staff.

Advertise for the first time in Sweeping and receive 25% off your first full color ad. Offer is good for one time use only and can be used at any time within the 2023 calendar year. Additionally, you will receive two banner ad spots (570x90px) in eNews that can be used either in a single month, or single ads spread out between two months.
Lapsed Advertisers: Did you use to advertise with Sweeping, but don’t anymore? This offer is good to you too! Ad must run within the months of January to June 2023. Advertisement lapse must be within the 2022 calendar year.
EDITORIALS - FREE TO MEMBERS!
Perhaps you’d simply like to contribute to the editorial theme of the month? Any NCSG Member is allowed to submit a story of their choice. Following the month’s editorial theme is suggested, but not required. Insertion order for Editorials is not required. Please email inquiries to marketing@ncsg.org.

Advertising Contract Terms and Conditions
Agreed Conditions of Advertising
Advertiser and the National Chimney Sweep Guild agree that all advertisements and advertorials in “Sweeping: The Journal of Chimney & Venting Technology” are accepted and published on the representation and understanding that the advertiser and/or its agents have the authority to publish and give authorization to Sweeping editors to publish the entire contents and subject therein. Advertiser agrees that Sweeping acts on behalf of advertiser in performing the services provided for in this agreement.
Cancellations
Any advertising canceled prior to the published Ad Close Date shall be subject to a 50% contract cancellation fee for the applicable issue or, in the case of a multi-issue agreement, 50% of the balance of the contract, whichever is greater. Advertiser agrees that such a cancellation shall cause NCSG to incur damages and the foregoing cancellation fee(s) is reasonable compensation to NCSG for such damages. Any contracted ads that were scheduled after the cancellation date will be removed from publication.
Errors and Omissions
In the event of an error or omission of advertising copy or an advertisement offer for any reason, it is the advertiser’s responsibility to notify the Editor at marketing@ncsg.org within seven days after delivery of first-bound copies or final drafts. Editor’s liability will not exceed the return of revenue for the ad space. In no event shall Editor or Publisher be liable for incidental or consequential damages incurred by advertiser in the event of any error or omission by Editor. If artwork is not received by the materials deadline, the most recent artwork submitted will be used.
Protective Clause
Advertiser assumes all responsibility for the content of its advertisements and for the obligations of its agents or representatives. The advertiser agrees to be solely liable for the content of its advertising. Advertiser hereby agrees to indemnify the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG), NCSG’s Board of Directors, “Sweeping: The Journal of Chimney & Venting Technology,” and the editorial/advertising staff and to defend and hold harmless from any and all claims or suits of any kind that may be asserted against them by others by reason of the content of any advertisement published in Sweeping or eNews.
Insertion Order
No advertisement will be accepted without signed insertion order.
Payment and Terms
Full payment is due to the National Chimney Sweep Guild for the initial advertisement in “Sweeping: The Journal of Chimney & Venting Technology” from a new advertiser or agency at the time of the insertion order. New is defined as not having advertised within the previous 12 months. Thereafter, the advertiser will be invoiced for each insertion of a multiple insertion order on the issue mailing date. Payment terms in excess of 90 days shall incur a finance charge of 18% per annum on the unpaid balance. If any bill is more than thirty (30) days overdue, future advertising shall be suspended until such times that terms are brought current. Suspension of advertising for nonpayment constitutes a cancellation and all cancellation fees will be applicable. Any expenses incurred by NCSG in attempt to collect a past due debt shall be the responsibility of the advertiser, including reasonable attorney’s fees and costs for collection.
Right of Refusal
All advertisements and advertorials are subject to approval. NCSG reserves the right to reject or cancel any and all advertising at its sole discretion. This includes advertising the publisher believes is not in keeping with the publication’s standards, policies and principles. In such event, NCSG will return advertising fees paid. In the case of unpaid or past due invoices, ads will not be published until the dues are satisfied.
Advertorial Approval
Any advertorial submitted is subject is approval and edits. Advertorials are subject to edits for length, content, spelling and grammar. Advertorials plus the paired ad must not be longer than 3 pages and will be cut for content to fit the provided ad space. The words “PAID ADVERTORIAL” will be placed above all advertorial pages that contain article content to differentiate it from editorial content.
