Our partner Manju in Nepal has a passion for helping vulnerable widows. In Nepal, once you are widowed, you are disowned by your family members and left on the streets. This elderly home is a non-profit organization that has a mission to develop, coordinate, and provide shelter and other essential services for these abandoned women. Manju’s goal is to serve the women by providing for their physical needs, as well as saving them spiritually through sharing the Gospel.

Manju established this home 25 years ago and provides around-the-clock care for the 13 women living there. Most of the women have medical concerns that require special care. The ladies are taken into town to go to church and to go shopping, go on picnics, and visit parks. Each month they hold birthday celebrations to remind the women how special they are.

Our partner in Bangladesh is working on a project on an island near India. It is his goal to share the Gospel, reduce malnutrition, and provide training on hygiene and sanitation to reduce waterborne diseases. Through donations to Physical Needs, we sent funds for three wells for this project. These wells will provide clean water for drinking, cooking, and washing. As we wait for the wells to be completed, pray with us that many families will benefit from having access to clean and safe water.
