Welcome to the Fall CCPS Activities Guide! There are so many wonderful opportunities for students in our community, such as athletics, music programs, and art classes. There really is something out there for everyone. With such a wide variety of non-school activities, identifying and planning for your child’s interests can sometimes be difficult. Our solution for this difficult task can be found in the first edition of the CCPS Activities Guide. In order to create this guide, Collier County Public Schools partnered with Neapolitan Family magazine to bring community resources to Collier families. All program listings were included free of charge. Advertisements were sold to help underwrite the cost of this brochure. The CCPS Activities Guide, is the first edition of an ongoing effort to provide the community with information about non-school activities for our students. Currently, we plan to release the guide three times a year by sending it home with the over 46,000 students throughout Collier County. The guide is divided into youth activities in academics, after school, the arts, clubs and organizations, miscellaneous, special needs, and sports–the category in which the activity is listed was chosen by the provider. Our goal is to be all-inclusive and provide businesses and organizations the opportunity to participate. If you have any suggestions or feedback regarding the guide or know a business/organization that would like to be included in future editions please let us know by emailing Lisa Morse at morsel1@collierschools.com. We know this guide will be helpful in connecting our families to the community resources available in Collier County. Thank you, Kamela Patton, Ph.D. Superintendent 2

When girls connect with other girls their age with the same interests, friendships develop. Many teen Girl Scouts still count the friends they made as Girl Scout Daisies among their best! Girl Scouting works! For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts has shaped the lives of the majority of female executives and business owners, community leaders, and mothers. Girl Scout alumnae have attained higher levels of education, display a more positive sense of self, and are more engaged in volunteerism.
