The Laurel Mission:
To inspire each girl to fulďŹ ll her promise and to better the world.
one
/ INSPIRED/ Laurel girls are ambitious. We inspire them to take risks and welcome intellectual and physical challenges every day. In turn, Laurel girls inspire each other to claim their voices and achieve their goals using the skills they have learned at One Lyman Circle. Fueled by this inspiration, Laurel girls fully believe strong girls change the world.
three
/ INVESTED/ Through the work of Laurel’s Center for Research on Girls, we know how powerful relationships and role models are for girls in their process of learning. Laurel students learn from highly devoted faculty and staff that remain fully invested in their students’ academic and social-emotional journeys. Laurel girls also learn from investing in each other as we build a community of deeply passionate and motivated students and alumnae who are fierce advocates for themselves and for others.
five
/ INNOVATIVE/ “When her school is bold, a girl can soar.” – Ann V. Klotz, Head of School For over 120 years, Laurel School has been at the leading edge of all-girls education. Innovation has been our tradition. Unique programs such as our Outdoor Pre-Primary, Butler Immersion Weeks and the Capstone Experience create authentic opportunities for our students to engage in the world in meaningful, concrete and purpose-driven ways.
seven
/ INSTRUMENTAL/ The Power of Prentiss Laurel School’s strong tradition of academic excellence and self-discovery is sustained by an equally important tradition of philanthropy that spans generations. In 1976, to honor founding headmistress Jennie Warren Prentiss and those who have kept her vision alive, Laurel created the Prentiss Society to honor our most generous donors. Prentiss Society gifts represent over 80% of the charitable dollars raised each year. Your gift is instrumental to Laurel’s success and demonstrates your belief in our school and our mission. We look forward to the opportunity to recognize you and to show our appreciation for your belief in Laurel School at our special member-only annual celebration each fall.

Are you IN?
Last year, 315 members of our community rose to the occasion and made a Prentiss-level gift to the Laurel Fund, which helped us raise $1.1 million to enhance our resources and deliver our promise. This year our goal is to raise $1.2 million. Your gift has a direct impact on the dreams and aspirations of each Laurel girl and small boy. We hope you will jump in this year by renewing—and perhaps increasing—your support or becoming a new Prentiss Society Member for the 2018-19 school year.
