SEOUL EATS
Korean BBQ BY: Julian Austin I arrived in Seoul last month to begin a year of my life within the confines of one of the largest cities in the world. Located 7,500 miles away from Atlanta – South Korea is home to 45 million people on a peninsula no larger than the state of Indiana. The capital city of Seoul accounts for nearly a third of all residents, as its sprawling metropolitan reach stretches north of the Hangang River. With limited Korean language skills, no previous experience living in such a massive locale and absolutely no fear of assimilating to the cuisine and cultural life in Southeast Asia – every experience I have is of another world. After a month I have seamlessly transplanted myself from Atlanta to Seoul without so much as
a hiccup in the change of lifestyle and continue to search for delicious bites of South Korean cuisine. You have no doubt heard about the neighboring country of North Korea and the ongoing tension between the two, but what do you really know about Seoul and South Korea? In the past year, Korean barbecue has exploded as a hip, dining trend around the United States and its major cities. Living in Seoul, Korean barbecue and the little-devilin-a-green-bottle Soju (potent rice liquor) are everywhere. Within the district of Hongdae - there seems to be more Korean barbecue joints than calendar days in a year. Each tiny restaurant offers the same basic facet of this biz.A communal table
in the center offers an open charcoal grill that is used to barbecue samgyeopsal (pork belly), or beef, and accompanying vegetables. The idea is for each patron to load up a lettuce wrap with the bbq, rice and chili sauce while trying not to spill half of it on your shirt. There are a number of side dishes like kimchi, the official side dish of South Korea, and other ‘banchan’ to go along with the meal. The average customers are typically businessmen, college students and couples sharing this experience on a first date. Since Seoul is unfortunately not in the Midtown of Atlanta, here are some local Korean barbecue restaurants to curb that southern appetite: 6 Bizzy B March 2012
Eva Fe
A rich sultry voice combined with an uptempo techno funk Eva Fe is the type of artist that music industry heads and fans alike take notice. With her latest single “Oxygen” blowing up the Latin Pop charts Miss Fe has a lot to share with Bizzy B Magazine. Bizzy B: I know that we came here to talk about your single but you look so amazing who are you wearing today? Eva: Annett Carribean...she designs couture clothing and I love getting all dolled up so I am always honored to where anything she designs. Bizzy B: You’ve got a lot of momentum from your first single “Oxygen” I know you must be very excited how are you adjusting to the success? Eva: Yes I am very excited I’ve worked really hard but, honestly you’ve got to have faith and know that everything happens at a certain time, and I know that with my faith I am where a I am because of GOD. Bizzy B: So tell us a little bit about the single and how it came about? Eva: Well I actually co-wrote the song with this writer named Megan Cantoni. We basically spoke over the phone and she told me to write down what I was feeling at the time and send it over to her. So I did and she took those feelings and helped me turn them into what we know today as “Oxygen”. The song is in essence about needing a guy like oxygen and at the time that was how I felt about my ex.
I am not in this music game for the fame or fortune but, it makes it easier to spread my positive message. Making Everything Legendary Always Necessary -Melan Bomb The words that trickle out of the statuesque female rapper. Melan is known for the realness of her music whether it is about love and relationships all the way down to the streets. Melan sits with Bizzy B Mag and candidly speaks about her journey to becoming a rapper. Bizzy B: How did you get started in the rap game? Melan Bomb: In the 5th grade I wrote a 10 line poem that was for a contest at my school. My poem won first place and was displayed around school so that’s kind of how I got my first start with writing. But, what really lead me to rapping was thatI had gotten into some trouble with the law back in 2008 that landed me in prison. At that point I was at a low. I got into this huge fight on the yard and was sent to lockdown which is basically 23 hours in a cell all by myself. From there I just started writing..... I must have written about 200 songs. I was writing about what I was going through like people I thought were my besties not visiting or even writing.
Melan: After I got out of lock up I spit one of the verses I wrote. Everyone who heard it was like yeah that shits hot. But it’s crazy cause you never know what plans God has for you cause, when I got out and told my family about my rapping and spit a verse..... they were all behind me especially my brother. He was really the one that was like you really need to do something with this. But outside of that I am really blessed because I lost everything came home and got it all back.
cording down at Vision’s Studios in Atlanta with my guy Jarrell Lakes. Bizzy B: How do you choose topics for your songs? Melan: Honestly, it’s what I like, what others like, and what’s good music. I feel like I’ve been given this talent from God and this is the talent will help me go all the way. Interested in knowing more about M.E.L.A.N Bomb you can hit her up at

So what’s it like to walk a day in Dondria’s shoes? Bizzy B Magazine sits down with the R&B princess herself to ask her about love, life, and of course MUSIC. Bizzy B: So how many YouTube videos did you actually make? Dondria: 221.... it was so easy because you are not talking to anyone specific so I can just be myself and vibe. Bizzy B: So how did JD get in touch with you for you to get signed to So So Def? Dondria: Well it was after my video Promise hit more than 1 million views. JD actually hit me up on myspace. I ain’t gonna lie the first few times and I basically was ignoring him... because I just kept saying to myself this could not be true!!! This is not Jermaine Dupri hitting me up on my myspace page. But, he was persistent and I finally responded to him. Originally he wanted me to do a YouTube video with Jagged Edge. So they were going to fly to Dallas to shoot the video. But then.... JD decided to fly me and my

And then when I saw the video on BET and people started voting it to the top of the countdown it was just so crazy!!! All I ever really wanted to do was open up a restaurant and give vocal lessons. But I guess God had other plans for me.
Bizzy B: Who are some of the duets we can look forward to on the album? Dondria: Tank, Jon B, Chris Brown, and hopefully R. Kelly just to name a few. Bizzy B: So the 90’s was filled with tons of love songs do you have a love in your life that inspires you?

Play Up Your.... EYE SHAPE!
Hey ladies! This month, let’s create some illusion with your eyeshape! I think every woman should spend a few hours in the mirror playing with eyeshadow so they know what colors they like on themselves and how to execute it. Every eye shape is different but they all fall in a category of the following: Almond, Deep-set, Close-set, Asian, and Wide-set. You may fall under more than one category, like me for instance, I have close-set almond eyes. For deep-set eyes, it’s best to use a lighter color with a bit of shimmer to create the illusion that your eyes are coming forward, pulling them out of the depth they are in. You can create drama with using a darker color in your crease and finishing it off with a liner on the lash line. For the close set eyes, concentrate the lighter color on the inside of the eyelids and blend a darker color on the outer corners of the top and bottom lash line to “pull” your eyes apart. Almond eyes are the easiest so you are lucky if you have this shape! You can pull off a nice cat eye or vintage winged liner with little or no shadow or accentuate the shape by defining the crease with a 19 Bizzy B April 2012
darker color, line the bottom lashes with the same dark color, highlight the brow bone, and use a lighter color on the lid. For Asian eyes, line the top lash line with a dark shadow or liner and blend upwards (be careful not to go too high) and put a lighter shadow under the brow and blend down to meet with the darker shadow. You can finish with a white pencil in your waterline to make your eyes appear wider and more awake. For the wide-set, line the top and bottom lash line with a pencil and smooth the line. It’s looks sultry to put black in the waterline of your eye to define the shape and to make your eyes appear a bit smaller. Choose a medium shade of eyeshadow to sweep across the entire lid and you can pick a lighter color to put right in the middle of the lid to create a rounded appearance. Like I always say: “PLAY PLAY PLAY”!! Figure out what looks good with your customized eye shape and run with it!

A Man
Speaks
Things Men Hate about Women There’s no doubt that Men wholeheartily love women. However, I would like to reveal basic factors with females (in my opinion) that strongly irritate men. 1. Men hate it when their woman criticizes other females. Why do women often treat other women as rivals? I have found that women really talk about other women because of envy or jealousy. A woman will gain no popularity with men if she continuously criticizes other women’s dresses, shoes and appearance. “Girl look at her hair!” “Is that Plum polish on her nails and green polish on her toes?” If a woman is looking good driving down the street in her BMW, she gets talked about. If a woman has a flat stomach and wants to wear a cut-off shirt, she gets talked about… You will never see a Man say such things as: “Now he knows he needs to do his toes if he’s going to wear sandals.” “I can’t stand him! Look at his muscles!” “Is he wearing Levi’s and Sean John?” “That’s trifling!!”
relationship, not realizing that the jealousy lifestyle can fracture even the strongest relationship. Jealousy appears when someone in a couple does not trust his partner. Remember that trust is the basis of your relationship. Hey I am not saying that you can’t ask where a man is going and what they are doing, even with whom, but every 15 minutes? Guys just don’t like being questioned about these things. Can we simply go to the store without women putting out an APB (All Points Bulletin) on us?
to conclusions with out knowing all the facts surrounding the given situation. Women see a situation and immediately jump to the most logical explanation with out asking any questions. Then when men try to explain, the woman’s mind is already made up with their own assumption and they think they are right. Example… A woman makes a sandwich and decides to go take a shower, leaving the sandwich on the counter. The dog jumps up on the counter and grabs the sandwich, which you are unaware of. The woman comes out from the shower and the sandwich is gone. “You ate my sandwich!” is bellowed towards you. You explain that you didn’t eat the sandwich and the dog must have taken it… “No he didn’t you ate it!” You point her attention to the dog sitting in the corner enjoying the sandwich. “Well you must have given it to him then, there is no way the dog could have taken it off the counter.”
3. Men also do not like to be treated as an emotional support. We get irritated when women always demand caresses and hugs, when women ask to call them special. Men do not like diffident women; they say it is even worse than self-confident and independent women. Men want to have time for themselves too; you know, to watch sports and stuff or even hang out with the boys. I think if women would just chill out and let their men chill then they wouldn’t Ladies, Please, STOP IT!! be getting the artificial attention 5. Men hate shopping, especially 2. men. This is sex, which is the most powerful weapon in the war between males and females. Women deprive their men of sex in an attempt to punish them or make a point. But the measure may in some cases have consequences for women.
8. Men hate insecure and jealous ways. If you’re out and you see your man eyeing a woman across the street, don’t make a big deal about it. We are Men! All men young and old do this. Leave your comments to yourself. You can’t tell me that when you see a nice looking man walking down the street, you don’t keep your eye on him.
