Biting into a perfectly juicy hot dog that is topped with all of your favorite dressings is an all-American tradition. Henry’s Chicago Style brings authentic Chicago style food and atmosphere to our area for the enjoyment of those who love a tasty meal that feels good in all the right places. Rex Haslam, Mark Haeger and Randi Wille grew up together in beautiful Arlington Heights, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. As kids and teenagers, the three would head out to

their favorite eateries to chow down on the perfect hot dog, pizza or Chicago style beef sandwich. Rex moved to Florida in 1984 and Mark moved down in 2005. Both guys were on a search to find true Chicago flair, but soon realized that it was proving impossible to find the same quality food they had grown up on as kids in the Windy City. Mark and Rex called up their longtime friend Randi and the trio decided to open their own joint to offer all the best tasting items Chicago is known for; Vienna all-beef hot dogs, thin crust tavern-style pizza and hot,

CNCN Holds Annual Meeting and Elects New Board of Directors The Council of North County Neighborhoods (CNCN), a nonprofit community organization based in East Lake, held its annual meeting at the East Lake Community Library to hold elections for its Board of Directors and set priorities for the coming year. The slate of directors recommended by the nominating committee were elected by acclimation. Re-elected were: Don Ewing, President; Ron Schultz, 2nd Vice President; Barbara Schultz, Secretary; Terry Haas, Treasurer; Bill Hickman, Director; Roger Johnson, Director; Jeff Hunt, Director. Founders John Miolla, 1st Vice President and Jim McDonald, Director, serve as permanent members of the Board.

Through its committees of Government Affairs, Communities and Membership the organization’s major accomplishments in 2011 were: developing a Community Overlay for East Lake; submitting legislation to the Florida Legislature for annexation protection for the East Lake area (2012 HB 699 / SB 1892); help East Lake Youth Sports Association secure funding for expansion; help Tarpon Woods secure funding for storm water drainage improvements; held public forums on County EMS future, recycling options, education, legislative session briefing, Brooker Creek Preserve, legislative redistricting and mass transit; held Annual Town Hall Meeting with the Pinellas County Commission; sponsored a student essay contest for Palm Harbor students with scholarship awards; as-

sistance with adding street lighting to approach streets at East Lake High School. Open discussions were held to help shape the directions and issues to be tackled by the organization in 2012. Ideas from membership include use of reclaimed water, fluoride in the drinking water, managing the Brooker Creek Preserve, and possible new development in Ridgemoor/Tarpon Woods. The new CNCN Board approved the meeting schedule for 2012 which is published on the organization’s website (www.cncnpc.org) under the “Mission” tab. For more information on CNCN: access the CNCN website or contact Don Ewing, President at done@cncnpc.org. Lake, Florida object to the lines drawn for the new Florida House District 64 and 65 and have drawn up a resolution requesting the Florida House of Representatives Redistricting Committee to reconsider the splitting up of community of 33,000 residents into two different districts that are served by representatives in two different counties in the Tampa Bay area. Currently the East Lake Tarpon Community resides completely within District 48. The proposed districts 64 and 65 split the East Lake Community into two halves, diluting their representation. Although the East Lake community of 33,000 residents resides in un-incorporated area of Pinellas County the residents are cohesive community and represented by the nonprofit organization Council of North County Neighborhoods (CNCN) and the Pinellas Board of County Commissioners. There is pending legislation this session (HB699 /

SB1892) to further define the community and prevent undesired involuntary annexation. In summary East Lake Tarpon area is not a city but functions as a cohesive group of 33,000 residents and do not want to be split into two separate districts. Their request to the Florida Legislature would be to move the redistricting lines to the west (middle of Lake Tarpon) or to the east (Hillsborough County Line)

and north (Pasco County Line) to keep the community whole and represented by a single representative. Keep the East Lake Tarpon’s 33,000 residents in one district. Longtime Residents Donate Bronze Sculpture to East Lake Community Library The Cypress Run Golf Club neighborhood has been home for Bill and Joan Hickman for the past 25 years. The Hickmans are very proud to call East Lake home and are very dedicated to supporting the East Lake community. Bill Hickman is on the East Lake Council of North County Neighborhoods’ Board along with two of East Lake Community Library’s (ELCL) Advisory Board members, Roger Johnson and Ron Schultz. When ELCL recently expanded, the Hickmans felt that it was the perfect opportunity to share a prized bronze sculpture with the community. The life-size bronze sculpture, depicting a young girl sharing the love of reading with a small boy, graced the Hickmans’ home library for 15 years and is now housed in the newly constructed Community Room at ELCL. “The East Lake corridor area is so unique and it is so cohesive,” says

Joan. “All of these neighborhoods were developed around the same time and the community has remained very close.” Bill says, “When we moved here, East Lake Road was a two-lane road and we called the intersection between East Lake Road and Tarpon Avenue ‘the hump’ back then. At that time, East Lake Road north of Keystone was a narrow, rarely used road.” Things have certainly changed, with more families moving in and roadways ever-expanding, but East Lake remains a tight community, and its residents – people like the Hickmans – are determined to make sure East Lake remains cohesive through

neighborhood associations. Bill explains that CNCN tackles issues that could impact the area and fights to ensure that the East Lake area is only benefited by any changes. “Just this week, the Pinellas County Commissioners unanimously approved our overlay plan,” says Bill. “It took us about a year-and-a-half to accomplish that.” CNCN’s persistence means that

the community of East Lake will expand and grow according to the wishes of residents, rather than just adhering to whatever the county wants. Stop by the East Lake Community Library and see the beautiful bronze statue. The library has many programs available and is a great way to nourish a love affair with books and get to know others in the community.

Come and join the Angel Family! See what some of our loyal customers have to say! Valentine’s Day Gift Certificates Available! on 20 years in the business to Donna and her teams. C ongratulations Donna and The Cleaning Angels initially came to my home in 2010 to offer an evaluation of my cleaning needs. It took only one visit to recognize that their service was considerably different than my previous ones. Their reliability, honesty and dedication to excellent service has proven itself again and again. -Michelle Marquis, Clearwater, Florida We have used The Cleaning Angel Cleaning Service for the past two and a half years. Every two weeks we are more than satisfied with the service especially with Ileah who has been the head of the cleaning team that services our home. Their work is a very thorough professional cleaning. They are always prompt, courteous, trustworthy and willing to adapt to our schedule. Along with the regular cleaning each time, they include the baseboards, light fixtures and ceiling fans, blinds and much much more. Our home is always sparkling every time. -Sue and John Kelly Wyntree, New Port Richey, FL I hired the Cleaning Angels over a year ago to help keep my house clean, so I would have time to pick up more shifts at work, to help make ends meet. On my initial interview with Donna Ferrante, she came to my home and we walked through the house together. She gave details of her business and work ethic and expectations for customer satisfaction. Donna and her staff are extremely personable and very professional. I feel like everyone cares if I am satisfied or not. The Cleaning Angels staff has gone above and beyond to work with my husband and my difficult work schedules. I highly recommend the Cleaning Angels to assist in housing maintenance. They do a great job, they are reasonably priced, and with the time I save from having to clean the house myself, I am able to pick up extra shifts at work and do other errands and chores. Love, Love, Love!!!! -Jennifer Mugianis, Tarpon Springs, FL We have used The Cleaning Angel for just over a year and I wonder how we ever got by without them! Our first meeting was with the company's owner, Donna; she made us feel very confident and comfortable about the service her company would be providing. Donna assured us that what was promised would be delivered because it was her name on the line. As business owners ourselves the message was loud and clear and we decided to give them a try. The Cleaning Angel has provided the phenomenal service that Donna promised and more. Our regular team, Ivonne and Anna are dependable, honest, pleasant, hardworking and efficient. They come in and get the job done. Thank you "Cleaning Angels" for making the task of maintaining my home easier on me! -Esther and Michael Halman, Crescent Oaks, Tarpon Springs, FL

Before I started with the Cleaning Angels, I had tried numerous cleaning services. I was never happy with the results until I met Donna six years ago. She actually was still cleaning herself at that time. Congratulations for expanding your business and making it to 20 years. The service is always excellent - they are prompt, efficient, professional, and their appearance is always great. They always have the correct products and equipment and their attention to detail goes above and beyond. My current lead is Ileah and she has been cleaning my house for several years and I just love her. I am very active in the Trinity community and have recommended the Cleaning Angels to many people. -Sandy Alekson, Champions Club, Trinity, FL

Nine years ago, I was looking for a cleaning lady and found Donna. At that time she went by Donna’s Cleaning Service. She cleaned my home herself for about two years. When she broke her foot and had to hire girls to help out, I initially was concerned. However that concern was short lived as Donna trains her girls to clean exactly like she does. Since then these girls come into my home and do their magic. I have many disabilities and they go way beyond to make sure that my house is clean and that I am happy. They do special things for me to make my life easier. I want to thank Sandy who use to clean my home and now is in the office with Donna. Congratulations for all your accomplishments Donna! -Fran Mischler, Port Richey, FL I have had the great pleasure of hiring and being in the company of the Cleaning Angels Cleaning Service. They are incredibly accommodating and have superior customer service. I have rarely come across a service organization that is so professional and extremely pleasant to work with. Every time "the Angels " come to my house, it gets better and better. Budget cuts have hit the majority of Americans, but I will give up other things before I would ever consider giving up "my Angels". -Tina Redmond, Keystone Bluffs, Tarpon Springs, FL The Cleaning Angel has been a consistent and dependable cleaning service, working around our family, house guests and home construction. They have been responsive to our special requests and once they know what we like, they provide great value added customer service. I would recommend them to others. -Susan Rolston, East Lake Woodlands, Oldsmar, FL I was looking for a cleaning service and was referred to The Cleaning Angels. I didn’t think they would come this far but called them anyway and they were more than happy to put me in their schedule. I live a 440 West and the girls are cleaning up this town. There have been a lot of unhappy people in the Clearwater Beach area and now word is out. We finally found the best. Congratulations Donna and so happy to have found you. -Katherine Sullivan, Clearwater Beach, FL As far as I am concerned there is only one cleaning service in the Tampa Bay area and that is the Cleaning Angels. They came into my home the first time and did a deep spring clean and was I ever blown away. I have never seen a cleaning service do the detail work these girls did. Donna sent four girls and they stayed for seven hours and my home is about 2700 sf. They hand washed all my baseboards, did the blinds in a three step process, washed every door and door frame in the whole house, moved every little knick knack and got into every little corner possible. Two weeks before I used a different service that promised a spring clean. They sent two girls that stayed in my home for 2-½ hours. After throwing my money away I was referred to Donna by someone in Land o Lakes. I’ve told many people if you are looking for your home to be cleaned correctly, don’t waste your time on other maid services. Call the Cleaning Angels if you want it done right and you will never have to find anyone else. Congratulations on your 20 years and hope you have many, many more. -Betty Bennett, Odessa, FL Donna and her team at Cleaning Angels have been cleaning our house for over 4 years now and have done a terrific job. They are dependable, friendly, thorough and trustworthy. Her teams are willing to go the extra mile to make sure our home is extremely clean. Having the Cleaning Angel team clean our house has most importantly allowed us the valuable time that we typically would have spent cleaning, to be spent with our family. Congratulations Donna on 20 years of exceptional work! -Michele Friedman, Trinity Oaks, Trinity, FL

Certified Financial Planner Scott Papes Helps Trinity Residents Prepare for the Future By Julie Kanehl

The cornerstone, or foundation stone, of a building is the first stone. It is the first step in creating a structure that will be there for many years, and that will provide protection to those inside the finished product for generations. This is the hope that we have when we save our money. We hope that we will be able to create something that will protect ourselves and those we love for many years to come. This is the theme of Cornerstone Financial Planners in Trinity. Cornerstone Financial Planners is located in the Walker Professional Center, just north of S.R. 54 on Little Road by the Mitchell Soccer Fields. The office is warm and friendly, and staffed with a group of professionals who are focused on building long-term relationships

money in the case that you would require care at a facility for the disabled or the chronically ill. Saving and planning for the future is one of those things that many people put off because they are focused on today’s tasks, today’s issues, and they are busy living each day as it comes. But, what are those people going to do when the time comes to retire? Think about how fast the time has already passed by. In a blink you could be there. Are you ready? Do you have a plan in place? If you do have a plan in place, have you looked at it lately? If not, then it’s time to come in and meet the folks at Cornerstone Financial Planners Because Experience and Integrity Matter Most. low their dreams and reach their goals. Focused on providing sound, personalized counseling, two of their experts are Certified Financial Planners™ (CFP®s), which is considered to be a standard of excellence for people in this profession. One of those individuals is Vice President Scott Papes, CFP®. Scott has been in the financial industry since 1988 and really has a passion for what he does. Raised outside of Cleveland, Ohio, Scott received his degree from Penn State in Management and Economics. After spending some time in Boston, he came down to Florida in 1998. Scott is proud to be a CFP® and says, “To be a Certified Financial Planner you have to take a series of classes and tests, as well as ongoing education, that gives you a greater depth of knowledge about the financial planning process and tools and how to apply that knowledge to my clients.” While some kids wanted to be baseball players and doctors and lawyers, Scott always wanted to be a broker. He says, “I find this field to

be interesting and dynamic.” While things have changed in the financial industry due to obvious changes in our economy, Scott says that changes in technology and the tools available haven’t changed the personalized service that Scott prides himself on providing to his clientele. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Scott was a Vice President and Regional Director at a large national investment company, but there are many benefits for clients who work with independent broker dealers, like Cornerstone Financial Planners, and that is what Scott wanted to be able to provide. Scott says, “The benefit of working with an independent Broker/Dealer like us is that we have very few limitations on the kinds of products that we can use. We have access to basically everything. There isn’t anyone above us asking us to push our clients into anything in particular. We can completely customize your investments.” More than that, Scott has seen people get lost in the shuffle with

their financial firms before, and he takes pride in really being able to get to know his clients individually, and spend the time with them that is necessary to really understand what their dreams and financial goals are. Scott says, “Consultations are free and a consultation is kind of like a first date.” He adds that it’s important to get to know one another and create that relationship because creating a financial portfolio is a very personal and personalized process. Once there’s an understanding, your financial advisor will want to see everything from your current investments to your insurance policies, and even your will and trusts. “All of these pieces come together,” says Scott. He views himself as a ‘financial doctor,’ of sorts, saying that he takes a look at what you have and then makes a recommendation using the technology and the many tools available to him, combined with years of dedication and experience in financial investing to come up with a plan to help clients work towards a healthy financial future. “My clients are also my friends,” says Scott. “I just happen to do their financial investments as well. To me, the person is more important than the firm.”

The Cornerstone Makes the Difference The cornerstone of important buildings is often ceremonial. It’s often inscribed with information about the architect, the dates when the building was constructed and completed, and is essentially the heart of the building. It represents the dream of its creator. We have the opportunity to create a financial legacy within our lifetime. With proper guidance, we can be ready for retirement, set aside money for our children’s college funds, save for cruising to Europe, or whatever our dreams may be. We can do these things if we start now, work with someone who understands that our goals are unique, someone who takes the time to know us and who knows the importance of building a strong financial portfolio that will last a lifetime and beyond. Find that and more at Cornerstone Financial Planners in Trinity. Cornerstone Financial Planners is located at 4625 Little Road in Trinity. Feel Empowered at Power Spa Studio in Palm Harbor By Kim Thomas Power Spa Studio is a wonderful place to relax and unwind, warming your body up with a state-of-the-art vibrational massage that increases your circulation and warms up your muscles for optimum benefit from traditional massage. Power Spa Studio’s menu includes a range of massage therapies, skin care such as facials and peels, nail services including waterless mani-pedi if you prefer, and skin rejuvenation, all of which can be combined with the exclusive BVMS (Biomechanical Vibrational Massage System). Open since March 2010 in the Key West Center at the corner of Alderman Road and Alternate 19, Power Spa Studio is unique and has an interesting story behind it. Power Spa Studio owner Alfred Stadler knows a good thing when he sees it, so when he was introduced to a cutting-edge product that took away his pain, he decided that not only did he want to own it but he wanted to share his discovery with others. Alfred is an avid golfer and had suffered se-

vere sciatic pain for years. He was at a week-long boat show in Germany when a vendor selling Voramed Biomechanical Vibrational Massage Systems (BVMS) noticed his limp. Alfred recalls, “He called me over and said, ‘If you come every morning for 15 minutes, I guarantee you – you will be pain-free after four sessions. And I said, ‘If it works, I’ll buy it.’” Miraculously, Alfred found that his pain did go away. He bought the BVMS for himself and his wife to use and then introduced it to their good friends. “He had low back pain and his wife was having leg cramps every night,” says Alfred. “They use the bed for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening; they both say that it is a wonderful product.” Alfred explains that the technology was invented by the Russians to keep their astronauts from losing muscle density. The oscillating massage system eventually reached Europe. Germany produced the product to sell and further upgraded it to include infrared heat, so that it not only provided muscle stimulation but added the relaxation aspect.

Lay back and relax at Power Spa Studio The story could end there, but since Alfred does know a good thing when he sees it, the German-Canadian surprised his Polish-Canadian bride with a photo of their new part-time home in the beautiful Tampa Bay Area of Florida and the two officially became snowbirds, living here six months and six months in Canada. Alfred owned a tourist camp in Canada, where people came for the abundant

fishing and hunting, but when he was ready to retire, or so he thought, he wanted more time enjoying the beauty of the Sunshine State. “I was here and a friend introduced me to Top of the World (in Clearwater) and I loved it,” says Alfred. “I bought it and put the deed and pictures under the Christmas tree to surprise my wife.” Alfred says that after a couple of years of only playing golf and relaxing,

Knowing the benefits that he experienced with the BVMS, he decided to open a spa where clients could experience all the traditional pampering, with the added health benefits of the BVMS. “This product is a medical certified device in Germany and has been used in Europe for 15 years,” says Alfred. “I am the only provider of this product in the U.S. We not only have the spa here but we also sell this system, which is perfect for spas, dentists, chiropractors and any business that is looking to offer their clients an added beneficial

treatment.” He adds that the system sells for $3,250 and up and is completely portable, weighing only 23 pounds. I tried it out and got up feeling energized. Unlike the rolling vibration you feel in a massage chair that can actually be uncomfortable, the BVMS allows you to fully recline and the pulsing vibration moves up and down the body at varying levels of intensity. Spa Treatments to Rejuvenate You Head to Toe Power Spa Studio is serene and immaculate, with all the aspects you need to escape, and you can also be assured that you are in good hands! Licensed Massage Therapist and Full Spa Specialist Tanya Nash came to Power Spa Studio from a four-star resort spa on Clearwater Beach. Seven years of experience catering to clients, ranging from professional athletes looking for seriously therapeutic treatments to bridal parties seeking ultimate pampering and relaxation, has given Tanya the broad experience necessary to handle the needs of all kinds of clients. Tanya is native to the area, born and raised in Dunedin where she still lives, is very personable and empathetic. She really listens to what her clients want and need. I was in bad shape but short on time when I scheduled a massage with her so I only booked a half-hour for some deep tissue work on my neck and shoulders. Like many women, I have some beastly knots in my shoulders and at this particular time, the pain was radiating down one arm and up my head that I was having trouble sleeping. I could tell right away that Tanya knew exactly what I needed and she wasn’t wimpy with her touch. She was able to break up some of the worst knots and though I was sore, in a good way, I immediately felt loosened up and had a greater range of motion. After a few days I could really feel the benefits of just how much she was able to help me, after only 15 minutes on the BVMS and 30 minutes under Tanya’s skilled touch. Next week, I want the full hour! Tanya is trained in all types of massage including relaxation, deep tissue, and specialty massage using

warmed Tiger Clam shells, compression/sports massage, and prenatal massage. Skin care is vital to overall health and makes us look beautiful. Tanya is a skilled aesthetician and offers several facials, back facial, Diamond Dermabrasion and glycolic and salicylic peels. “Diamond Dermabrasion is similar to microderm but it is not as invasive,” says Tanya. “It is much gentler but delivers the same results.” Also available at Power Spa Studio, is cutting-edge skin rejuvenation using infrared light technology to help stimulate collagen production, and that also feels very warm and relaxing. A licensed nail technician as well, Tanya provides manicure and pedicure services with the choice of a waterless mani-pedi, if you prefer. Best of all, you can combine any of the services on the menu with a BVMS session for the ultimate in muscle stimulation and relaxation. BVMS sessions are $18 for 15 minutes and $29 for 30 minutes; or buy a package and save. Feel better, life is short! Stop by Power Spa Studio and try the BVMS for yourself. You may just want to take one home to enjoy at your leisure, wherever you go. And, when you need some bodywork or pampering, Tanya Nash is friendly, completely professional and naturally talented.
