For many people, losing weight is at the top of their bucket list. For others, it is the only way to become, and feel healthy again. Many of us have tried yo-yo diets, or buy the expensive celebrity promoted trends, that pop up in social media and TV and radio commercial hype. The failed weight loss remains, and people continue to be discouraged. However, Medical Weight

Loss, LLC at (813) 269-SLIM has been proving since 2007 that weight loss, whether 10 pounds or 120 pounds, can be done safely, affordably and successfully! Many different diseases, such as diabetes, auto-immune and thyroid problems and heart disease, are linked to being overweight. Knee and hip problems are also factors in this area. Florida Re-Opening Right on Time For Summer 2021! Summer 2021 starts on Sunday, June 20th, and Floridians and out-ofstate visitors alike will be crowding our gorgeous beaches and local establishments. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been criticized for prioritizing economic recovery at the expense of public health. Still, the word on the street says that most people are ready for some level of normalcy. Folks of all ages (with and without masks on) have been seen out and about at local beaches, malls, gyms, nail salons, barbershops, and retail businesses (Some fitting rooms may still be closed. Please contact them before taking an unnecessary trip.) Restaurants and foodservice establishments may finally operate at full capacity with limited social distancing protocols. Most business owners I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing this past month seemed excited about re-opening their small businesses yet are still very understanding of the obvious fear the pandemic has caused. Most will continue enforcing some CDC guidelines and mask mandates for their staff while allowing their guests to make their own choices on wearing one or not. Sporting venues like the Amalie Arena are finally increasing the number of fans they allow in each game. And at a perfect time, because the Lightning team are on a roll, and hopefully will be moving on towards the next stage of the playoffs! Go Bolts! Publix and other grocery stores continue their mask requirements for now, despite DeSantis’s executive order. However, a lot of visitors can be seen shopping around without them. Most businesses must maintain an adequate level of sanitation practices among employees and patrons during all hours of operation.

Wherever you and your loved ones decide to go, please make sure to follow and respect each establishment’s unique safety regulations during this pandemic, which is still far from over. Remember, patience over panic! Whether we agree or passionately disagree with Gov. DeSantis’ decisions to reopen this quickly, one thing we should all agree with; COVID-19 is no joke, and it should continue to be taken seriously. Do not get irritated if business owners or their employees politely ask you to stand farther from other customers. Don’t complain about the service taking longer than usual. It’s been a rough year and a half for most of us, and everyone is doing their best to get back to “normal.” In Need OF Small Business Assistance? If you own and operate a small business and you’re looking for Coronavirus Relief, please visit www.sba. gov. You’ll find multiple resources to help you overcome the economic challenges created by this health crisis. They offer numerous funding options for those seeking relief. They offer helpful resources, guides, tips, and templates on how to strategically reopen your business while adhering to Governor DeSantis’s phased reopening plan. Stay safe, stay kind. “Easidance”

- continued from page 1 amateur ranks. We got together and had a successful tryout for a month and took it to our coaches, who liked it. We then formed a professional partnership. We continued to train and study under our coaches in the U.K. and compete in the European circuit.” In their early twenties, an opportunity arose for Timothy and Michele to embark on a four-and-a-half-year contract in New York City to work in one of the leading studios in Manhattan. They began competing in the American circuit as well as the European circuit. By the time the couple retired from competitive dance, they had ranked second in the U.S. and eleventh in the world. A professional partnership and friendship turned to love, and

the couple married in 1994 and moved to the Tampa Bay area. In 1999, they retired from competing, though continued to travel, doing shows, coaching, judging, and lectures. As they wanted more control over their travel schedule, they decided to open a dance studio on Gunn Highway in Tampa, then settled into their permanent Carrollwood location four years later. From six years old to millennials to business people, retirees, and professionals looking for trainers, Easidance Ballroom caters to ages and all experience levels. Timothy and Michele take pride that whether learning competitive dance, a choreographed first wedding dance, a dance to feel comfortable on the dance floor, or simply an opportunity to socialize with like-minded dance enthusiasts, everyone is treated like family. Thirty-three five-star Google reviews attest to “top-notch

instructors and an atmosphere second to none.” “We teach all levels of dance – people who are wanting to have a new hobby, maybe a date night for some, and competitors. We offer it all at the studio,” he said. “There are so many benefits of dance, not just the joy that brings to people. Some people are dancing for fitness. They come to us and say, ‘I can’t do the treadmill thing and the bike. I love music, and I want your ballroom studio to be my gym.’” Ballroom dancing is as physical as going to the gym; however, less stressful on the joints and muscles. Dancing can also be healing in those who have dementia and has been prescribed as part of therapy. Because Ballroom dancing is mentally challenging as it requires listening and problem-solving, studies have found that this challenge to the mind may prevent or delay the onset of Alzheimer’s in

older adults. Because ballroom dancing involves precise physical activity, listening to the beats in music, remembering dance steps, and taking a dance partner into account, it is mentally stimulating. “So many articles have come out proving how it is an effective form of exercise physically and also psychologically. Studies have come out showing how in later years it is successful in keeping seniors’ minds active with the thought of learning to dance, step patterns, and coordination – aside of the physical complements that it has.” Ballroom dancing is not a solo experience. It requires communication and teamwork and helps build friendship bonds and a sense of community. Much like the owners themselves, romantic relationships have been born from holding hands and consciously listening and responding to the moves of your dance partner.

“There’s been many stories how dance changes people’s lives. Maybe someone has lost a loved one, and they’ve been for years set indoors, and they find the courage to go back out again. They walk into the studio, and it opens up a new lease on life both with a new set of friends and family and exercise, and a whole new social world that wasn’t available to them before.” It isn’t just about the social aspect of dancing; Easidance is recognized as a place that trains champions to reach the highest level of competitive dancing. “We’ve had some students taken from what, we consider, a bronze level, and they’ve gone on to be national champions in the ProAm level, where the student is dancing with their instructor. We train people not just looking at dance as a hobby, but a dynamic sport.” Whether a student is seeking private lessons working one-on-one or in a group setting, Easidance has a class for all

interests. These include Latin-flavored dance classes in Mambo/Salsa, Rumba, Merengue, Bachata, and Cha Cha, and timeless dance floor classics of Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Bolero, Quickstep, Paso Doble, Jive, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing, Country Two Step, Line Dances, and Hustle. Timothy and Michele also host weekly social dances. The couple finds joy in witnesses firsthand the transformation of someone learning to love to dance. Timothy relayed a story of how a young woman came to the studio and sat in her car in the parking lot numerous times before finally taking a deep breath, braving walking through the doors, and learning to gain self-confidence through dance. With over two decades of touching lives, Timothy explained that there were many similar stories of introverted teens, adults, and senior citizens that came out of their shells and blossomed through the social community of dance. They discover selfconfidence, grace, and poise, and the ability

to communicate with others. Easidance Ballroom’s mission is to create a safe, nonjudgmental place where anyone – no matter what the level of experience – can have a fun time learning to dance. “We’ve three options: private, group, and social dances. Typically, students embark on all three. We hear stories from couples, ‘we go out to a lovely meal, and we sit there and watch other people dance. We don’t want to be the person anymore. Help us.’ It’s our goal to help them feel more confident on the dance floor.” Easidance Ballroom is located at 5111 Ehrlich Road, Suite 140. Coming out of the pandemic, masks are optional from June 1st and will be worn by instructors if requested. Forty-minute private lessons are available weekdays daily, morning, afternoon, and evening. Group lessons are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Social dances are Friday evenings. Call (813) 908-3340 and learn more at easidanceballroom.com.

Tech Talk with Bob: Grammy Gets Hacked!

Grammy was so excited that morning. Her granddaughter Karla was coming to spend the day. Grammy had fun plans to entertain them both. They would play games, read books, walk to the park, and bake some cookies. After the cookies, Grammy started to clean up the kitchen. Karla was still full of energy and became bored. She asked Grammy if she could play on her computer. Karla went to a website that her mom lets her play games on. Karla did not remember her login information and her parents were unreachable so Grammy appeased Karla by creating a new account. The website only wanted Grammy’s email address and requested she set up a password. Well, Grammy never set up a web

12 JUNE 2021

account before. Her grandson had set up her email, banking, and investment accounts for her, so she only really knew how to login to them. Grammy was so happy when she successfully set up the account for Karla’s game on her own. All it wanted was her email address and to set up a password. Karla was thrilled. Grammy, delighted. Life goes on. Karla eventually loses interest in the game and Grammy forgets all about the credentials she used to create that game’s online account. Grammy always runs quality anti-malware software on her computer and keeps it up to date. Plus, Grammy doesn’t bop all over the web. She primarily sticks with her usual online banking and investment sites. Grammy is quite the good girl when it comes to her internet browsing habits. A year later, out of the blue, Grammy’s bank account gets hacked. Grammy, her family, and even the bank, cannot figure out how it happened. They would later learn about the infringement that may

very well been the cause of Grammy’s bank account getting hacked. Let me clarify, Grammy’s banking institution did not get hacked. It was Grammy’s personal bank account that was hacked. Someone had her password. Remember that website where Karla wanted to play, and Grammy set up? We’ll that website’s online database with Grammy’s email address and password was hacked two months ago. Now, without her knowledge, Grammy’s information (her email address and password) is exposed for sale on the internet. Criminals will buy this information and hack into banking sites hoping some of the combinations work granting easy entry into bank accounts of unsuspecting people. Grammy’s mistake. She used the same password for Karla’s gaming website that she uses for her bank account. Of course, Grammy has only the one email account, but she should have created a different password for the gaming website instead of using the same password she uses for her bank account. When the gaming site was hacked, scammers who bought the list of email addresses and passwords from the hackers, used this information to perform credential stuffing attacks on major banking sites. Most people typically only have one email address. And that is fine. The moral of the story… Even though you may have to

use the same email address on every website, DO NOT use the same password on other websites. Oh, that’s bad; because if one website gets hacked, your other websites are at risk of being hacked too. Why? Because your email address with an accompanying “working” password is now available to online criminals. We can help you find out if your email address has been exposed. If it hasn’t, we can and help you take the steps to head-off potential hacks to your accounts. If it has, we can help you with that too. Call us now 727-534-4000. It is your responsibility to protect your personal network, your computer’s operation, and your data. Whether you are a business or non-profit, even a home user, who keeps records about clients, customers, club-members, prospects, employees, vendors, sales, budgets, inventories, taxes… you get the idea; cyber criminals will exploit any easy, unprotected system. How safe are you? My staff and I are here to keep your computer safer and keep you up and running. “Medical Weight Loss” - continued from page 1

things. Weight loss is not just a matter of looking good, but, is a medical program of improving your life and reducing your health risks. Feeling better, is also a great by-product of slimming down.

Dr. Gail Jachimek Medical Weight Loss, LLC (269SLIM) is headed by Dr. Gail Jachimek. The main clinic is located at 5111 Ehrlich Road. Their other weight loss clinics are in Wesley Chapel, FL., Lake Geneva and Waukesha, Wisconsin. Their prices have not increased since they began the medical weight loss practice. Dr. Jachimek and her husband are both Chiropractic physicians, and have those clinics in Carrollwood and Spring Hill. So, they also treat patients that are in pain from accident injuries, or just have unwanted neck or back pain! Their medical weight loss program combines pharmaceutical appetite suppressant medication, fat burning injections and pills, and a clinically proven diet with medical doctor and nursing support and counseling to help their patients reach their “target” weight goals.

This physician supervised program helps those who have before tried and failed to lose unwanted pounds. Dr. Gail says, “We opened the clinic because I was entering menopause and gaining weight. When I asked my

16 JUNE 2021

primary physician, as well as my doctor friends, for help, I got extremely rude responses. I was told to “push away from the table”. Dr. Gail does not want her patients to go through the same degrading experience.

lifestyle. Then, their doctors propose a plan for you, and prescribe appropriate pharmaceutical appetite suppressant medication, fat burning injections, vitamin therapy and fat burning supplements.

Determined to learn more, Dr. Jachimek joined the ASBP (American Society of Bariatric Physicians) and went to their symposiums for further education and tools. She discovered that there are many contributing factors to weight gain - not just your diet.

“The program is simple, inexpensive and easy to follow. We give you a large list of foods to buy/ choose from,” says Dr. Jachimek. “The program is easy, because it is food bought in the grocery store, (no special foods to order) just regular meats, fruits and vegetables on our list. This factor also makes it more affordable, because you don’t have to buy special foods, or cook separate dinners if you have a family.”

Some of the major contributing factors included hormonal imbalances, thyroid issues, environmental toxins, autoimmune disease, type 2 diabetes, etc. It was then that she opened the main clinic in Tampa to help people dealing with the same frustrating weight gain frustration she had faced. They have since opened 3 more clinics in Florida and Wisconsin to help people with these problems. “At Medical Weight Loss, LLC, we have medical doctors, as well as nurse practitioners, that have been treating our patients successfully for years, so that the root cause of these problems can be addressed. Our registered nurses and supportive staff are there for you to help you every step of the way.” Medical weight loss plans are not new, and many are similar, but other programs usually involve significant upcharges and hidden fees. Dr. Jachimek’s 269-SLIM program is different. Her program is focused on the long-term results, meaning, not only will the process safely take off your weight during the active phase of the program, but also prevent the pounds from returning during the “maintenance phase”...(which is free)! This is no diet trend – This is looking at your medical history, evaluating your EKG, bloodwork and

Under the supervision of their medical doctors, patients can drop 20 to 30 pounds in the first month. Dr. Jachimek said that it is common to see 5-10 pounds dropped in the first week. “We have had patients that have lost 17 pounds in their first week, as well as patients that have lost over a hundred pounds on our program”, says Dr. Jachimek. Accountability is also a major part of the program. Keeping the patients safe and on track, their nurses evaluate, and treat patients weekly to provide support and give suggestions on how to reach and maintain their target weight. Dr. Jachimek stresses that there are no price surprises at Medical Weight Loss, 269-SLIM. The initial visit is $195 and weekly visits are just $55. That’s it! This is what you have been waiting for! An inexpensive, easy and successful way to lose the unwanted pounds that have made you miserable for years. As their slogans say, “With 269SLIM (MEDICALWEIGHTLOSSLLC. COM) -Weigh less for WAY less”…or “When you’re done fooling around, call us!”.
