Dr. Ha, DMD, who grew up in Tampa and attended Leto High School and the University of South Florida, always knew that he wanted to do something to give back to the community he loves. All you have to do is write an acrostic poem to whatever you call your father, whether it is dad, father, papa, daddy, or padre. To write an acrostic poem, take the first letter of your word and write a line describing your dad to form your poem, and then do the same thing for the remaining letters. Although I am an adult, I still call my father daddy, because no matter how old I get I will always be my daddy’s little girl! Here is an example of the poem I wrote for my daddy:

Community News Briefs Senior programs offered The Oldsmar Senior Center now offers diverse and interesting year round programs. Some programs are free and others cost a minimal fee and can be discounted with a Recreation Center card. Participants ages 50 and older can participate in OSCARS (Oldsmar Senior Center Art Recreation Social), FAB (Fiber Arts Bunch), wood working, billiards and Tai Chi. Senior socials gather people to play games over coffee and refreshments. Day trips take people to places like the Hard Rock Casino, Strawberry Festival and museums. College Student Stephanie Divincenzo Awarded 2012 S. Truett Cathy Scholar Award Westfield Citrus Park Chick-fil-A team member, Stephanie Divincenzo, has been selected by Chick-fil-A Founder and CEO Truett Cathy as one of only 25 winners from across the country to be awarded the 2012 S. Truett Cathy Scholar Award. Divincenzo was chosen for her excellence in academics, leadership, and community service. She has worked for Chick-fil-A for more than two years at the Westfield Citrus Park location. She is studying elementary education at University of West Florida, Pensacola. A 2011 graduate of Howard W. Blake High School in Tampa, Divincenzo was active in the orchestra and founded the school’s Social Studies Honor Society. She also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. One of my personal favorites is the Bruschetta, which consists of diced tomatoes and Feta Cheese tossed in balsamic vinegar and olive oil served on fresh toast points and finished off with a balsamic drizzle. Crunchy and sweet and loaded with fresh tomatoes, the Bruschetta is every bit as appetizing as it looks. Another great selection is the Mushroom Club Hoagie, which is served heated on your choice of French, Wheat or Pita Bread and filled to the top with ham, turkey, applewood smoked bacon, provolone

cheese, caramelized onions and garnished with crisp bean sprouts. Each bite just melts in your mouth and despite the generous portion size, this hoagie was devoured within no time – it’s just that good. The Kosmic Karma Pizza, which is a specialty at Westchase Mellow Mushroom, is a feast for both the eyes and the stomach, and the presentation alone is enough to make your mouth water. This is a must-have menu item! This red-sauce-based pizza, topped with mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, feta and Roma Tomatoes is tied in with a fancy pesto swirl and boasts a taste that is out of this world. The combination of ingredients was so delicious that I was almost at a loss for words. In fact, my husband was – “I don’t even have words for how good this pizza is. I can’t explain it, it’s just that good!” If you are feeling a little creative, you also have the option of creating your own pizza or salad, for a customized entrée that is as unique as you are. Westchase Mellow Mushroom offers daily specials including Happy Hour, which is every day from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., and includes $2.00 off on all mixed drinks, wines and beer. The Cleaning Angel Celebrates 20 Years of Cleaning Excellence By Dara Tucker Twenty years ago an angel started in the cleaning business. Donna Ferrante, who we now know as the owner of The Cleaning Angel, started cleaning for an elderly woman who was receiving Hospice care back in the 1990s. As a single mother, Donna was cleaning to earn extra money as a second job, but it quickly became clear to both her and her clients that caring for people’s houses was her purpose, a way to make others feel good about their surroundings. Donna was crowned the cleaning angel by the elderly woman she bonded with who she was cleaning for, after she left a crystal angel for her one day when she cleaned. The woman told her caretaker that Donna was her cleaning angel, and shortly after passed away. All these years later, Donna was still emotional as she told me the story, but feels blessed for the client who provided the foundation for her current thriving business, and knows she would be proud of where The Cleaning Angel is now. Donna was born and raised in a small town in the white mountains of New Hampshire called Gorham. Being half Italian and half French Canadian,

she was raised in her small community to be a hard worker, honest and dependable. She comes from a family of entrepreneurs. Back home in New Hampshire her family has owned an Italian restaurant for over 65 years, now going into a fifth generation. Donna explains, “The dedication and success in my cleaning business is due to the closeness of my wonderful family. My mother and my grandmother taught me to reach out to people and give from my heart and the feeling that you get back is more than money can buy, and that is more important than anything. I am proud and honored to say that I am following in the footsteps of my parents and grandparents. We know how to cook, clean and we give 100 percent to the business.” In addition to her family’s influence, Donna attributes the success of her company to a determined attitude, a tremendous amount of ambition and meticulous attention to detail, which is accompanied by an unstoppable drive. An example of this drive was when after years of working on her own, she broke her ankle and hand in an accident. Donna knew she couldn’t continue cleaning on her own, and prayed for the
future of her business. She didn’t let this change in her life ruin her business, but instead turned into a blessing, by making the decision to hire her first “angel.” This decision, and her determination, helped to expand Donna’s business to what it is today. The Cleaning Angel’s staff is considered by Donna to be part of her family, and happy “angels” means happy clients.
