he busy Brownies of Troop #2357 from Grace Day School have been learning about philanthropy and recently collected much needed items for those affected by the horrible tornados in Moore, OK. The girls sorted, packed and labeled five big boxes which contained shampoo, soap, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, sunscreen, bug spray. These supplies will be delivered by truck to Oklahoma.

Massapequa Cub Scout Pack #696 held a car wash at St. Rose of Lima Church on Saturday, June 8th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Well, for me, in addition to all the normal seasonal stuff most of us look forward to, I am eagerly anticipating catching up on some quality TV time. Rerun Season, as I like to refer to it, is prime time to make use of that “On Demand” feature and settle in for some marathon viewing sessions, don’t you think?

Remember all those cable TV series your friends keep talking about that you’ve never had the chance to check out? Well, plop down on the couch, put your feet up and start with Episode I, Season I. Watch a few episodes a night, every night, and you’ll be all caught up before you know it.

Oh, and let’s not forget about that pile of magazines from those subscriptions you just can’t bear to cancel. How many of you have accumulated quite the collection? What’s that, a Winter Music Preview on the cover? Only slightly outdated… take that cup of tea outside and start turning those pages.

If you’re feeling especially ambitious, you can always attempt to crack open an actual book, too. I know, I know, such a thing is foreign to most people in this day and age. Supervisor Venditto said he is extremely proud the Town of Oyster Bay was asked to host the event. “The U.S. Military All-Stars will be making their exclusive Long Island appearance here in the Town. It speaks volumes about our fields and facilities, which are considered to be among the finest in the nation,” the Supervisor said. “Most importantly, it gives us the opportunity to show our patriotism and pay tribute to great men and women of the United States Military. I urge everyone to come out and show their support and share in a fun filled evening of sports and Americana.”

Senior citizens, 60 and older, who have a Town Senior Citizen Beach I.D. Card, obtainable at the Town Clerk’s Office for a one-time fee of $30 plus a $2 photo fee, will be able to obtain a beach sticker at no charge. Disabled Town residents who are receiving disability

insurance benefits under the Social Security Act, as well as those who have a permanent disability as certified in writing by a physician, can obtain a free beach sticker after first securing an I.D. card at the Town Clerk’s Office for a one-time fee of $30 plus a $2 photo fee. The Councilwoman added that non-residents may visit Tobay, Centre Island and Ransom Beaches Monday through Friday for a $50 daily fee and Centre Island and Ransom Beaches Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for a daily fee of $60. Non-residents can obtain a seasonal sticker for Tappen Beach for $120. The daily admission fee for non-residents without a sticker at Tappen Beach is $30.

“The Town’s beaches offer a chance to jump into the water and have

some fun or just relax and enjoy the warm sun and crystal blue skies in a comfortable setting,” said Councilwoman Johnson. “The beaches are just another example of all the special things that the Town offers its residents and why the Town is such a great place to live.”
