Shelter Grant Awarded
At the recent 11th Annual Pet Peeves Gala held on March 19th at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Westbury, the founder of Pet Peeves, Inc., Janine Dion, awarded Pam Green the Executive Director of Kent Animal Shelter a $10,000 grant. The grant will be used to spay and neuter 140 Pit Bull and Pit Bull mixes on Long Island,
Janine Dion and the Board of Directors of Pet Peeves, Inc. realized the critical situation concerning the overpopulation of Pit Bulls and mixes comprising approximately 90% of homeless K-9’s in municipal shelters on Long Island and knew that the only solution going forward is to spay
and neuter as many as possible and educate the public about the crisis. Pet Peeves, Inc., ‘the Voice of L.I. Pets,’ a 501©3, non-profit umbrella organization that raises funds and awareness for Long Island’s struggling animal shelters and rescue groups. With this grant, Kent Animal Shelter will be able help curb the over population problem and help owners with the expense of spaying or neutering their dogs by offering this program at just a $20.00 co-pay by the owner. The dogs must be pit bull or pit mixes 3 months and up. The campaign will begin April 15th and run through May 31st. April is also ‘Prevent a Litter Month,’ a perfect time to kick off this life saving project. “The overpopulation of Pit Bulls and mixes on long Island has reached catastrophic proportions resulting in
Proudly Serving The Community Since 1953! abandonment and abuse of this breed,” according to Shelter Director, Pam Green. Green also said, “the generosity and concern for animal welfare by our friends at Pet Peeves, Inc., will make a huge difference in the misfortunate plight of Pit Bulls preventing future offspring from suffering the same fate.” Also in celebration of ‘Be Kind to Animals Week,’ (May 5 – 11, 2013), Kent will be hosting a free rabies vaccination clinic on Sunday, May 5th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Other vaccinations will be available at low cost and they are asking for a donation of dog or cat food. All pet owners on Long Island of Pit Bulls and pit mixes can call the Kent Spay Clinic at 631.727.5731 to schedule an appointment for a spay/ neuter and for more info on the Free rabies clinic as well.

Spring Has Sprung On Fire Island By: Tyler Cianciulli The leaves are returning, the water is warming and newly born deer are showing their small heads. As with every April, Fire Island is abuzz with life. After a trip to our barrier island, one can immediately conclude that not everything has been drastically altered by last year’s Hurricane Sandy. At first glance, everything seems as if it was in shambles; but upon further inspection, it is evident that nature is beginning to make a comeback! Vegetation is already starting to fill in all of the damaged areas, and even with the ongoing construction, animals are finally making their way
back out of hiding, onto the beaches and into the water. Seagulls are increasing in number and it seems as if they are thriving. Piping Plover populations have bounced back to a healthy number, considering their spot on the endangered species list. Taking a stroll down the beach, one can already spot patches of Beach Heather, a very common yellow plant, dotting the shoreline. Accounts of whale sightings are becoming less and less frequent, signaling the end to a cold winter, and the beginning of a beautiful summer. All in all, life is finally returning to Fire Island, coincidentally just in time for Earth Day, on April 22nd. Spring is a very
crucial part in the health of Fire Island, as the beaches elongate and erosion is reversed. This cyclic trend will lead to more room for beachgoers in the 2013 season. Nature isn’t the only thing on the mend after Hurricane Sandy; establishments, such as Maguire’s Bayfront Restaurant in Ocean Beach, are getting ready to open up their doors. There is no doubt that Fire Island will be in “fighting shape” and ready for the masses as we kick off the season with a very solid spring. Being Domestic By: Jamie Lynn Ryan I am not a domestic person by nature. Or, at least, I never thought I was. The whole cooking, cleaning, doing laundry thing just seemed so… boring and tedious. I never wanted to learn, promising my mom that, once the time came for me to move out on my own, I would simply hire a gourmet chef and a maid. Voilá! Problem solved. Right. Well, back in the real world, while the prospect of cooking for myself seemed slightly intriguing, I always had visions of water boiling over onto the stove, clouds of smoke billowing out of the oven…that sort of thing. Laundry was another issue.
Too many compartments, dials, buttons… lights, whites, darks… bleach, fabric softener, water temperatures, load sizes… delicate cycles, special washing and drying instructions… Wouldn’t it be easier to just take everything to the dry cleaners and have them sort it out? Sure, minus the $500 weekly bill maybe. Being a bit of a neat freak – okay, maybe slightly OCD – I’ve actually always enjoyed the vacuuming and dusting part of things, organizing, categorizing... all that fun stuff. Everything but cleaning the windows. I seem to have a small issue with – how would you put it – not making them look even worse than before I touched them. Well, as it turns out, when
you actually come to the point in life when you must learn to do all of these necessary things for yourself – you know, just in case the maid calls in sick one day – it’s really not as hard as it looks. A little reading comprehension, a touch of common sense and lots of advice from Mom & Dad… with some trial and error, most things turn out just fine. That’s not to say I haven’t let a pot or two of water boil a little too ferociously, or had a couple of things get a bit too well done in the oven. But rest assured, no fire departments had to be called in the making of my culinary creations. A small victory. Now if I could only get that fuzzy sweater to be fuzzy again…
The preview will begin at 6 p.m., with the auction beginning at 7 p.m. There is a $10 entry donation, which includes wine and hors d’oeuvres. This inexpensive fee will allow those in attendance to spend the rest of their hard earned money on a beautiful artwork for their home or office. represented in the auction include the late, noted Setauket Painter, Joseph “Joe” Reboli. “The art auction is a great way for both long time and new residents to support the artists of our region,” stated Geoffrey K. Fleming, Director of the Society. “The Society is very proud that half of all the money raised at this event will go to support the participating artists,” he continued. The location of the event, the Castello di Borghese Vineyard, is one of the oldest and most important of the wineries located on the North Fork. Set amidst the vines, the vineyard’s tasting room and large reception area are the perfect spot for an auction. “We are delighted to have the support of the vineyard and its owners, Prince Marco and Princess Ann Marie Borghese,” continued Fleming.

Last Hope Receives Grant
Last Hope Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation, Inc. recently announced it has been awarded a $12,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support our collaborative effort with the Daviess County Animal Control of Owensboro, Kentucky to bring dogs in need (mainly hounds that would be euthanized) to the Last Hope Dog Adoption Center
in Wantagh where they will be readily adopted. Last Hope is a nonprofit organization with a mission to save deathdue, abandoned and stray animals. Besides assisting needy dogs in Long Island municipal shelters, Last Hope has developed a partnership with several shelters and transport networks in Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia,
where Last Hope renews hope for discarded dogs that otherwise do not stand a chance. Since 1981, Last Hope has been striving to improve the quality of life for homeless pets. Last Hope placed 300 dogs and 646 cats in loving, responsible homes in 2012. This generous Petco Foundation grant will help Last Hope with transport and veterinary costs of
adoptable Kentucky dogs. In rural states, Beagles and other hounds are routinely abandoned, starved or even shot when not deemed worthwhile hunting dogs. Daviess County Shelter currently has a staff of five, including some prison inmates, handling over 5,000 animals a year. With the help of shelters like Last Hope on Long Island, Daviess has dramatically

The organization is funded through donations raised during fundraisers conducted in Petco’s more than 1,200 stores across the country, as well as from Petco associates, vendors and corporate contributions. Money raised helps fund animalwelfare organizations, spay and neuter efforts, animal-assisted therapy programs and humane education. The majority of the funds raised remain in the communities where they were raised, and the Petco Foundation is also involved in many national animal-welfare efforts. Now the figure is much lower, less than 10 percent. “In 2009, Daviess County approached us about saving a Coonhound named Valentine that they had nursed back to health,” said Linda Stuurman, president of Last Hope Animal Rescue. “This was the beginning of our commitment to take several Daviess dogs a month. In 2011 we rescued 40 dogs from this shelter, and 65 more in 2012. Our Petco Foundation grant will enable Last Hope to rescue more Kentucky dogs and also restore their health before finding them loving homes. We can continue to make a difference for dogs at home, plus dogs from faraway.” The Petco Foundation has served as a voice for companion animals across the country since 1999. colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries. The College was also recognized with a Silver Paragon Award for the same print advertising campaign by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR), an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). NCMPR Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community colleges and is the only national competition of its kind that exclusively honors excellence among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges. Suffolk’s TV campaign has also received a Telly Award. The campaign portrays recent high school students who have chosen to attend Suffolk; students who successfully have transferred to other recognized fouryear institutions; and
alumni who are now succeeding in their chosen careers. Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films. The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition and receives over 12,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many foreign countries. Dr. Shaun L. McKay, President of Suffolk County Community College, stated, “We are so proud of our marketing and public relations team. They continue to achieve recognition for developing communications that reflect the quality of our institution.” The winning print campaign features recent high school students from across Suffolk County who have chosen to start
their college careers by attending Suffolk. The Silver Award for logo design was for the recent creation of the Suffolk County Community College Sharks athletics brand identity. Judges consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing professionals and the Board of the Higher Education Marketing Report.
“We have wonderful stories to share through our communications,” said Drew Fawcett, Associate Dean for Institutional Advancement. “Our advertising continues to underscore the value that our residents see in Suffolk County Community College.” The campaign was created in-house by the College’s Office of Institutional Advancement.

Prepare a deck or patio for entertaining Few things are better than having a functional and beautiful outdoor space to entertain guests. Having a great outdoor space enables a person to host parties or intimate gatherings all year long. Establishing an entertaining space and maintaining that space are essential when planning another year of fun in the sun. There are many things homeowners can do to ensure their entertaining space is safe and functional. As the season approaches, include some landscaping and decorating components to your preparatory plans to make the space as comfortable and aesthetically appealing as possible. Here are a few key tips for readying your yard for entertaining possibilities. Expand on these basics to customize an area for your unique needs. * Check the area for any needed repairs. Prior to your first entertaining session, look over the deck or patio to take note of any flaws that may present safety hazards. Are there any loose railings? Are all screws and nails flush so they do not cause tripping? Are there any cracks in concrete or loose patio blocks? Be sure to remedy all of the repairs needed to ensure guests will be safe. If you are unsure of any structural deficits, consult with a contractor. * Hire a reputable contractor. If you are just laying the groundwork for a new patio or deck, it is important to get the necessary permits and then hire a person who has been properly vetted. Check qualifications and licensing before hiring a contractor and ask to view a portfolio of his or her previous work. Word-of-mouth recommendations from trusted friends and family members are good, and you can also double-check qualifications by contacting the Better Business Bureau to see if any complaints have been lodged or use a service such as Angie’s List to read reviews of his or her work.
for when the sun is too uncomfortable to make sitting outside enjoyable. Similarly, have a sunny area where people can soak up a few rays or dry off after a dip in the spa or pool. Don’t forget to establish a spot for the kids to converge with scaleddown amenities. * Consider a fireplace or fire pit. For centuries man (and woman) has gathered around fire for socialization and a means to warming up. Having a backyard fireplace, pit or chiminea is a conversation-starter, a decorative focal point, and a functional tool to extend the number of seasons in which outdoor entertaining can take place. Place the fire wisely and with concern for safety. It should be out of the way of foot traffic, but central enough so that it can be a gathering point. * Invest in quality outdoor furniture. Today’s yards are extensions of a home’s interior. Guests no longer want to sit on uncomfortable metal or plastic furniture. There are many different outdoor sofas and chairs that are as stylish as they are comfortable. These pieces can be matched to the decor inside your home for a cohesive look. * Accessorize. Consider the creature comforts of indoors and mimic that outdoors. Don’t shy away from hanging artwork on an exterior wall or using urns or pottery to decorate the space. Weather-resistant materials ensure everything from clocks to televisions can be used outdoors. Think about having an entire set of serving dishes and other entertaining items for the outdoors. When refurbishing outdoor entertaining areas, emphasize comfort, safety and functionality.
Did you know?
* Think about closing in a portion of a deck or patio. The use of a canopy, netting or even greenery to protect an entertaining space can help minimize weather-related damage to outdoor furniture. Restoring your property after a long winter One of the best things about the dawn of spring and the return of warmer weather is the chance to get out of the house and get some fresh air. For homeowners, this is the perfect opportunity to assess any damage the previous months did to yards and develop a plan restore properties.
* Employ a pre-emergent weed killer. Homeowners who routinely spend their summers agonizing over weeds throughout the yard should consider applying a pre-emergent weed killer around the beginning of spring. It’s important to do so around the end of March or early April, when the weeds have not yet had a chance to grow. When applying, follow the dosage instructions provided by the product’s manufacturer. Such instructions often recommend a second application right before summer begins.
* Don’t jump the gun. The first warm day of spring might seem like a great time get out in the yard and get your hands dirty. But it’s best to wait until the grass has completely dried out before getting to work. Raking on wet grass increases the risk of tearing out grass, which * Remove thatch. How to edge a lawn Edging a lawn is a springtime rite of passage for many homeowners. When winter has come and gone, many lawns are left in need of some serious maintenance, including edging. Well-defined edges around the yard make the yard look more organized and better maintained. And edging is relatively easy, especially for those homeowners with a smaller yard. Edging can be time-consuming for those with more property, but when done properly, edging is definitely worth the effort. * Remove debris from the areas you plan to edge. Before you even begin to edge, be sure to remove any debris from those areas that need edging. Debris, including rocks, twigs or the kids’ toys, left lying around can be kicked up when you’re edging, potentially causing injury to you or someone standing nearby. * Purchase safety goggles. Even if you have removed all visible debris, there still may be some items hidden in the grass. These items can be kicked up and hit you in the eye, so purchase some safety goggles and be sure to wear them whenever you’re edging. As an added precaution, keep kids and others away from any areas you’re edging so they aren’t injured by any unseen debris that
gets kicked up while you’re working. * Check your tools. Edging can be done by using a gas-powered edger or a string trimmer. Before you begin to edge, inspect these tools to ensure they’re capable of handling the task at hand. Inspect the blades on a gas-powered edger to make sure they haven’t dulled since their most recent use. If they are dull, sharpen them before you start to edge. When using a string trimmer, make sure you have enough string on hand to complete the project. String trimmers use a particular kind of string, so visit your local lawn care or hardware store if you don’t feel like you have enough. * Position your edger properly. Once you have given your tools the green light, it’s time to start edging. When you begin, make sure the edger is between the sidewalk or driveway and the edge of the lawn, placing the wheel of the edger on the sidewalk or driveway and then pushing and pulling the edger until you have created a clear edge. If you have never edged before, you may want to practice on smaller, more isolated areas until you become comfortable operating the edger.

Suffolk Zone 6 - NEIGHBOR NEWSPAPERS - Wednesday APRIL 17, 2013 18
Through a collaborative partnership between the Three Village Central School District and Stony Brook University, 60 Ward Melville High School students joined nearly 200 peers from several diverse Long Island high schools for a daylong conference founded in literacy and rich in educational benefits. The Living Book Project was an interdisciplinary experience that brought high school students together to learn, share ideas and collectively reflect on Rebecca Skloot’s New York Times bestseller The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Ms. Lacks’ story began more than 60 years ago when her cancer cells were harvested without her knowledge; these cells, now known as HeLa cells, have become one of the most important tools in modern medicine, vital for genome research, progress in the field of in vitro fertilization, cloning and vaccine development. The book challenged readers to broaden their thinking on subjects such as bioethics, literacy, history, sociology, race and social class in America, cultural diversity, ethics and patients’ rights. Each attendee was provided with a copy of the book prior to the event and asked to complete it by the date of the program. “This program gave close to 230 Long Island students access to literature and the chance to take part in conversations surrounding the topics explored in the book alongside peers, Stony Brook University students, their teachers and university faculty,” stated Liz Kelso, event committee member and English teacher at Ward Melville High School. The event commenced with a reader’s theater performance on the book, followed by a series of workshops saturated with Common Core Curriculum lessons and displays of thematic artwork created by Ward Melville High School students as well as a visual display of HeLa cells. The close to 20 engaging, interactive and creative workshops touched upon the different aspects of the book – including science and medicine and patient
Living Book Project and family rights – as well as the humanistic traits explored and the literary components to the piece. “It was interesting to hear everyone’s different take on the same book. Since some students read it as part of a class, it was evident how that particular class affected the way they read it and their point of view,” commented Ward Melville senior Frankie Gattuso. “Those who read it during science were more focused on the advances we have made because of [Henrietta’s] cells; in English, the more literary benefits of the story were explored;
and in art, or for students working individually, a more humanistic approach was taken. This event was a great way for all of those different perspectives to come together and for an interesting dialogue to occur.” In addition to the Ward Melville students and faculty, student outreach programs including HOPE: Health Occupation Partnerships for Excellence; HCOP: Health Careers Opportunity Program; WISE: Women in Science Education; RISE: Reinforcing & Improving Student Experiences Mentorship Program; and SNMA: Student National Medical Association, as well as students
from Amityville, Brentwood, Central Islip, Longwood, Riverhead, William Floyd and Wyandanch, took part in the event. Speaking to the global benefits of such a program, event organizer Dr. Aldustus Jordan stated, “Research points to the fact that when alternatively thinking individuals are brought together for a common purpose, their disparities – social, economic, racial – fall to the side and they are then are able to communicate on an equal level. Today’s event focused on doing just that – dedicating these students’ collective energy toward discussing themes that are often difficult in most settings.” Building upon Dr. Jordan’s statements, fellow event organizer and Three Village Board of Education trustee Susanne Mendelson added, “It was our goal to give students in Suffolk County the chance to look through the college lens and embrace their diversities, and to step out from their comfort zones, all with the goal of having an educationally enriching experience.” Primary funding for the Living Book Project was provided by the Presidential Diversity mini-grant SEED: Students Empowered by Embracing Diversity, obtained by Dr. Jordan and Ms. Mendelson. The SEED grant aims to create opportunities for students to engage with peers from public schools throughout Suffolk County and with Stony Brook University teachers and faculty. The primary aim of SEED is to provide students from underrepresented minority school districts and highperforming school districts with opportunities to explore their diversity while working toward a common and purposeful goal. There were no direct costs to the participating school districts or the individual students. Transportation to and from the event, books, supplies, a continental breakfast and lunch, along with any other amenities, were provided and paid for through the SEED grant and the generous contributions of the community and university partners.

SIGNING ON FOR SUCCESS - On March 20th, Earl L. Vandermeulen High School senior athletes Joseph Booker and Blake Bohlen joined with their family members, coaches, counselors and members of the administration to sign National Letters of Intent. Joseph will be playing baseball for Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire and Blake will be playing soccer for Fordham University in New York. Both students received athletic scholarships.
An innovative teaching practice implemented in the ninth-grade studio art class at P.J. Gelinas Junior High School is the focal point for an article created by teacher Mike Sacco and printed in the April edition of School Arts Magazine, an educational publication read worldwide. The piece, Social Media And The Visual Journal, focuses on Mr. Sacco’s use of social media in the one-semester art course as a vehicle to promote students’ artistic experimentation and creativity. The article provides readers with a clear understanding of Mr.
Sacco’s unique and inventive use of technology as a teaching tool in the classroom. Speaking to the Visual Journal Project that he does with his class, Mr. Sacco discusses how he implements a Studio Art Blog on which students are able to view and identify design goals addressed by different artists. Within the article, Mr. Sacco also focuses on the implementation of Voice Thread, an online assessment and critique tool where students use recordings, video and the written word to discuss the work of their peers. Graphically supporting
Mr. Sacco’s article are class projects completed by former Gelinas students Emily Haliotis and Olivia Nelson, who are now in 10th grade at Ward Melville High School. Addressing the value of implementing such technologies, Mr. Sacco stated, “I think it’s important for us as teachers to get into our students’ heads and see the world as they see it.” Instead of lamenting the time students spending on their various devices, we can use technology as teaching tools to enhance traditional pedagogical processes.”
Helping Hands students from throughout Ward Melville came together to take part in the annual handball tournament. Under the direction of teaching assistants, more than 10 teams participated in this year’s event, which raised more than $200 for student health and physical education senior scholarships.
On June 6th, members of VFW Post 6249 based in Rocky Point, joined Long Island Home Builders Corp and local elected officials as they gathered together to welcome Sgt. Ryan was selected by a panel of Suffolk County Veteran Commanders led by VFW Post 6249 Commander Joe Cognitore. them. Before panels of judges from the science education programs at Stony Brook University and St. Joseph’s College, and school teachers, the students presented data based on their research or experiment-based projects and received immediate feedback. “These students are already very inclined to learn about science so it seemed only fitting that we provide them with an outlet to conduct original research,” said Dawn Nachtigall, a science teacher and program
coordinator at R.C. Murphy. “It is our hope that today’s event will germinate a seed of knowledge and interest that will bloom in the future, especially as they enter high school and can continue in the district’s research program.” In addition to the inschool presentations that the students made before the panel, they had the chance to share their research with friends and family members during an evening Science Awareness event.

Congressional Art Honoree
On April 6th, Comsewogue HS student Emma Tess Gordon was congratulated by Congressman Timothy Bishop (CD-1) for her Congressional Art Competition entry entitled Cupsogue Beach Entrance. Of the 27 entries judged by well-known Long Island artist Anna Jurinich, the 16 year old junior was one of six students to have been singled out for her work.
Student entries were on display, and the reception was held, at the Lyceum Gallery, Montaukett Learning Center at Suffolk Community College in Riverhead. According to Ms. Jurinich, “At first glance, this looks like an ordinary South Fork Dune scene but then the footprints pull you into the photograph. They form a beautiful design bathed in a gentle
sunlight emphasized by the horizontal shadows of the fence inviting the viewer to add their own footsteps and enter the photograph.” Emma Tess Gordon was presented with a certificate from Congressman Bishop, for her Honorable Mention prize. The Congressional Art Competition is a nation-wide high school art contest sponsored by members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as each congressional district. Winning entries will be on display in the U.S. Capital building for a year. This year’s first place winner was Harley Dallojacono. Congratulations to Emma Tess Gordon and all the participants of the 2013 Congresssional Art Competition.
Harris, Joe Klecko and a ton of other NFL stars. Coach Chris is also one of the co-founders of the Moriches Seahawks football program. Coach Chris has coached with the Lynvets, Riverhead Raiders and ESM Cowboys. He has also been an offensive coordinator to a couple of Local Semi pro football teams as well. “My goal for this team is to teach and prepare these young men for the riggers of the compative world of high school football. Our mantra will be ‘winning is not everything but learning is.’” The team also has a great staff in Tyrome Wilkins, who has coached football in Sachem and Gordon Heights, who will serve as the team’s head Defensive Coach and is
a former United States Army Drill Instructor. Tyrome is also the Owner of the Team Extreme Fitness Gym in Ronkonkoma. Tyrome is preparing a fitness program that will meet every child’s needs according to the skill level of the child. Special Teams, Backs and Receivers will belong to Coach Leo Krumholz, who is second to none when it comes to running and catching the football. Last but not least, Coach Chris’s son, Chris Vigliotta, will have the huge responsibilty of coaching the Bulldawg Offensive and Defensive Line. Coach Chris is also looking into taking the team down south to play for National ranking after the the regular season is over.
Dog Show Set Long Island Game Farm - Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo is hosting the Riverhead Kennel Club’s Spring Match Show & Obedience with Rally at its Woodland Gardens area on May 11th at 9 a.m. This is a rain-or-shine event. Entries will be taken from 9 to 11 a.m. More than 200 dogs are expected to take part in this special competition. Although the dogs will be judged based on American Kennel Club standards, this is an exhibition, so no points will be awarded. Obedience judging starts at 9:30 a.m. for the Utility, Open and Novice
categories. In Obedience, dogs must perform commands given by their masters. This is followed by the judging for Rally in the Novice, Advanced and Excellent categories. In a rally, the dog and its owner must run through a course with a variety of designated stations that tell them the next skill to be performed. Junior Showmanship judging starts at 11:30 a.m. Judging on conformation - in which dogs will be judged based on their characteristics which most closely conform to AKC standards - begins at noon. Judged categories at this time include Hounds & Pee

When it comes to youth fooball, there is a new kid in town - or should we say “dawg.” Coming this fall, SYAG is introducing the North Shore Bulldawgs Senior football team for 11 and 12 year-old boys. The team will be playing teams in the Sachem youth program and coming out of the Rocky Point/Wading River area. The team’s Head Coach will be Coach Chris Vigliotta, in his 25th year of coaching. The coach has a very long Resume when it comes to coaching football. Coach Chris began playing football when he was 9 years-old.
