FROM THE OWNERS: Dear Prospective Home Buyer, We discovered the Reserve at Martin’s Pointe housing development as it was being built in early 2005. We knew it was the perfect neighborhood for us as it was just 56 of the nicest homes just a half mile from Robinson Middle/Secondary School to the North and the VRE and shopping centers to the South. With two teens, we were excited to send our children to one of the finest schools in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We selected a plot of land that was facing the wooded section of the development in a quiet cul-de-sac. We anxiously watched and painstakingly reviewed every step of the homebuilding process from the laying of the foundation to the painting of the inside walls. What a joy it was to come by each day as a family to view the progress of our new home. By October 2005, we moved just as our son was starting his freshman year and our daughter was starting seventh grade at Robinson. We enjoyed every homecoming, sporting event and graduation ceremony while living in this home. We saw our son and daughter prepare for dates, celebrate countless birthdays and holidays and endless social gatherings. A friend recommended that we create a “magnet” location in our home for our teens and their friends to gather and our home theatre area was just the place. We played endless games of pool, watched countless movies and consumed vast amounts of pizza in a family-friendly environment. It was so nice to be able to travel the two minutes to the train station on Saturdays to participate in the farmer’s market or ride into Union Station to visit the DC sites or take in a National’s baseball game. Being just 10 minutes from I-66 or 15 minutes from Vienna Metro made the commute into the District easy. When our teens went off to college, our home was always the oasis away from a hectic study environment and they often looked forward to coming home as much as we looked forward to having them home. This was never a house to us but always a home. We often pictured retiring in this home and welcoming the grandchildren as often as possible. But that was not to be as, after 30 years in the Northern Virginia area, our company wanted us to relocate to the Orlando area and our headquarters. As the original owners who know every nail hole and scuff mark, leaving this special place is not going to be easy, but we are hoping we can pass this along to someone who will love it as much as we do.
