Letter From The Owner
Dear Prospective Home Owner, After a memorable and blessed 10 years at 6022 Fincastle, it’s a bitter sweet moment putting our wonderful home on the market. In 2004, along with our two middle school-aged children and a young black lab pup named Bailey, we became part of the Ashland community. Now that the kids have graduated from college and started their own families, we will be taking our now “seasoned” dog and going back to Colorado to start the next chapter of our lives. Residing in the Ashland area provided easy access to major locations yet provided the peace of raising a family in a quiet, well-maintained subdivision. We’ll treasure the fond memories of all the neighbors working in their yards on summer weekends and helping each other shovel out during the winters. The ongoing “yard” competitions over who had the nicer lawn and the cookouts on the back deck or across the street at the neighbor’s pool or simply hanging out next door in the garage catching up as the kids played in the street. With the schools being so close it was convenient with after school activities and being able to be involved in the kids’ classes, sports, and music events. Another plus of the location are the many brand name stores being nearby such as the Great American Steakhouse, Shoppers, Food Lion, Starbucks, Panera, CVS, Target, dry cleaners, banks, etc. The community center with its pool, 24 hour gym access, and occasional wine tasting event, is also a tremendous benefit. The national forest being so close allows the opportunity for many long walks in the woods. The house itself provided plenty of space for a growing and active family. The 4-bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 family rooms, front office, and 2 eating areas were more than enough for us. The 2-car garage allowed us to get the cars out of the weather. And the back patio and deck provided just the perfect setting for group and small gatherings of friends and family. The house has plenty of sun light with its many large windows. We invested in several upgrades to include the new floors, carpeting, lighting, and kitchen granite countertops. The house on Fincastle will always occupy a special place in our hearts. It will be incredibly sad as we say goodbye to our dear neighbors and see our home in the rear view mirror, but it’s comforting knowing the next family to call 6022 their home will be just beginning their own story.
