Letter From The Owner Dear Prospective Purchaser,
We hope you will enjoy your new home! Features abound that make this an easy place to call home. The adjoining office space, dining room, and kitchen provide a central area in the house for great conversations and gatherings. We home-schooled our kids so this spacious area was also their classroom. Many times with guests, this was their favorite space since it was so inviting and comfortable.
The basement with a bedroom, bath, and large family room fit our teenagers perfectly when they wanted their own space. They could easily have friends over to spend the night without being underfoot.
The large yard with mature landscaping and plenty of shade is always relaxing to sit by a fire pit, grill a meal, or just enjoy a breeze on a summer evening. Our yard was the site of numerous football, kickball, and bocce games. With the patio, the covered carport and the yard, entertaining large groups outside was a snap. Even with ample shade the lawn is lush and thick, inviting barefoot outings.
In the last two years a new lifetime roof was installed with new gutters. New premium siding was installed on the few areas that are not brick. Also the entire upper level had new windows installed. This now means no outside maintenance such as painting ever. There is just nothing like the look of a brick home that you can count on looking good year after year.
The house has two fireplaces that have just been professionally cleaned and inspected. We did use the woodstove to heat our home this past winter. There are two cords of oak firewood waiting for a cold day this fall or winter. This past winter’s snowstorms were very pleasant to look at through the window while sitting in front of a roaring fire all nice and toasty.
The main reason we looked originally in the neighborhood was the convenience. It is close to our church, has ample grocery stores within minutes, many places to dine out (Our favorite is Mikes American Grill), and was surrounded by woods. The country feel was a nice break from working in DC. The Virginia Rail Express station is two miles away with free parking which gets you to DC in less than 30 minutes. Driving into DC is another option since you are less than 10 miles away. The Metro bus routes are 3 streets over and the Metro is 10 minutes away. Other perks to this neighborhood: very little car traffic, mail delivery to your front door, and plenty of sidewalks to make the 15 minute walk to Lake Accotink or the neighborhood pool.
If we were not moving closer to our grandchildren we would stay in the area and definitely in this house. So many good times! We know you will enjoy the memories you will make in this house as it becomes your home.
Blessings, The Dillards
