Letter From The Owner Dear Prospective Purchaser, Welcome to your new home! Our hope is that you are as comfortable in this home as our family has been. Living at Parkside has been such a special part of our lives, and we cannot begin to list all of the things that we love about this home. So much of our lives have been spent on the roomy and open main level. The morning sunshine streams in through the front windows overlooking the quiet woods to allow you to welcome the day at your own pace. If you’d rather, the community gym is open from 5am for a work out before starting your day, either on one of the Life Fitness treadmills or with your own routine. The granite topped breakfast bar in the open country kitchen offers views of the community park and overlooks the pool, both perfect places to meet the neighbors. Many a summer day has been spent soaking in the sun on the pool deck or finished by swimming laps before barbequing out. Even though we have spent many leisurely hours enjoying time with friends and family in our home, it still looks like new since being fully remodeled and renovated in 2006. We are able to enjoy this summer time as the association offers us a low maintenance lifestyle, taking care of all the details. In the fall we do not worry about raking leaves, but instead enjoy looking at the fall foliage locally and along Skyline Drive. In the winter, we are not out shoveling snow, rather, we are indoors making hot chocolate. When spring arrives, we walk to Fort Ward, Holmes Run or Winkler Botanical Preserve to take in the beauty of nature without all of the gardening. Of course, if you so desire, you can tend to plants privately on the patio or in any of the many community gardens at Parkside. Our family has enjoyed living at Parkside and all that this home and neighborhood have to offer. The association also plans community events to celebrate holidays and the Super Bowl, as well as offers opportunities to give back through organized community service events. We’ve hosted special events in the clubhouse and poolside, generally enjoying what the community has to offer. Looking to some of the features of the home you will see professionally installed solid hardwood floors downstairs, full carpet upstairs and granite vanities in the full bathrooms. Modern comforts and conveniences continue in the kitchen, featuring stainless steel Whirlpool appliances that are less than three years old, and a stacking LG washer dryer combination that have has less than two years of use. The bedrooms feature custom blackout blinds, a spacious walk in closet in the master bedroom and each of the other two bedrooms have custom designed closets for a truly luxurious space. If you are commuting into DC, or the Pentagon, you could not ask for a better location. Express bus service starts outside your door with only one other stop between you and Pentagon Metro and DC is a quick trip up 395. It feels great to know that home is just the second stop off the freeway when taking the express bus, off a HOV exit or simply close by to on ramps. The location allows plenty of opportunity to find a new hot spot in Old Town or Shirlington, or revisit an old favorite. It is with mixed feelings we say goodbye to Parkside. We purchased this comfortable red brick home just after we were married. It has continually evolved with us as a family and allowed us to show hospitality to multiple generations of our family and friends, even as the office became a nursery.
