CONCEPT Mailmen
Mailman is an employee of a post office or postal service, who delivers mail and parcel post to residences and businesses. 郵差，一個大家熟悉的職業。近年來電子商務蓬勃發 展觸及每個人的生活，郵務量因此增加，郵差們的工 作並沒有因為數位化而變得較為輕鬆。然而諷刺的是 在自動化、數位化發展下，郵差的工作正面臨被機器 取代的可能性。如何減輕郵差的負擔同時使他們的工 作與未來科技接軌成了本設計的核心議題。
Sense Intent Science and technology had made a lot of progress these years, and many post works were mechanized. However, postmen’s job did not keep up with the digitalized trends. They still working under the traditional way. In such E-commerce era, the increasing amount of express mail makes their job harder. 隨著科技的進步諸多郵務逐漸機械化，但基層郵差的總總工作內容並未跟上數位化的變遷，仍維持著傳統的 方式，面對電商物流時代，快捷郵件增多，他們的工作更加辛苦

RESEACH Using stamp is part of Chinese culture tradition, hence it is still widely use by government institution. However, in such digital era with advence replication technology. The data shows that 90% of clinical depression patients suffer from sleep disorder. Light therapy can not only resolves their emotional problem, but also used to adjust their sleep disorder (insomnia). I tried to design a light therapy system which meets multiple patients’ needs and contain integration of treatment processes, and meanwhile I tried to design the product with semantic meaning, hoping this product can resolve the patients’ problems and also making the process of light therapy more humane and warmer.

PRODUCT SEMENSTIC Usually, light treatment used upon awakening since the sleep regulator hormone is inhibited by light as registered by photosensitive ganglion cells in the retina. Imaging “waking up in the morning and then drawing the curtains, the sunlight shine through the window, while you stretching a bit to embrace the new day” , the product semantic o f D aw n l i g h t i s j u s t l i ke t h e image: open the light just like d ra w i n g c u r t a i n s w h e n yo u wake up.

PRODUCT F E AT U R E The study shows that posture and emotions can affect each other, making 2 to 3 minutes positive, expansive posture can lead to positive emotions. The movement of “drawing the curtains" coincides with the expansive and positive body language. On Dawnlight’s handle, there is a physiological signal sensor which can detect the user's blood pressure, heartbeat and summed up the ECG. The sensing process should be maintained for 2 to 3 minutes, which is as long as the positive emotions triggering time ( triggered by expansive posture). Turning on Dawnlight system not only light it up but also detecting patients’ physiological signals at the same time which guide the user to stretch and resolve their emotion problem. (By comparing the physiological signals with data from the database, the patient's current mood can be monitored in a scientific way. The mood data then synchronized to the APP, where quantitative data be presented in order to understand and monitor patient’s the condition).

First, I went to the molded pulp factory to see the manufacturing process and learned the limitation of molded pulp. After that, I try to figure out a reasonable propotion for molded pulp drafting tube (length, thickness etc.). Then I visited the leather workshop and learned the basic leather making process. After knowing all the material manufacturing process, I started to make mock-ups, and try to figure outhow to improve the function of drafting tube by doing so.

靈感 水鄉古鎮 周莊 四 面 環 水 ，鎮 為 澤 國 ， 依 河 成 街 ，橋 街 相 連 。 處於長江三角洲的崑山市河網密布， 造就了不少江南水鄉小鎮。 周 莊 便 是 最 著 名 、最 典 型 的 一個 ， 四 面 環 水 鎮 為 澤 國 ，咫 尺 往 來 皆 須 舟 楫 。 依 河 成 街 橋 街 相 連 ，河 埠 廊 坊 過 街 騎 樓 ， 穿 竹 石 欄 臨 河 水 閣 ，一派 古 樸 幽 靜 ， 正是小橋流水人家寫照。 以﹁ 中 國 第 一水 鄉 ﹂ 聞 名 海 內 外 ， 周 莊 中 富 安 橋 、雙 橋 和 流 水 互 映 的 景 象 早 已 深 植 人 心 ，若 沒 有 了 水 周 莊 便不再是那個對稱的鏡中幻境。

Inspirations How phonograph, and vinyl work
When you place a record onto a record player, the needle on the stylus retraces the groove that has been cut into the record. As it retraces the groove, it recreates the sounds which caused the groove to bend and form in the first place by transferring the vibrations to a diaphragm in a speaker which picks up the sound and amplifies it to a reasonable level.
Concept How the recorder work
The movement vibration waveforms are recorded as corresponding physical deviations of a spiral groove engraved, etched or impressed into the surface of a rotating cylinder.

An event data recorder is a device installed in some automobilesto record information relatedto vehicle crashes or accidents. EDRs are triggered by sudden change in wheel speed. Sound Event Data Recorder (SEDR) is something similar to EDR, using the vintage technology of Phonograph to record the movement of the vehicle. Acceleration, deceleration and brake can be heard from the SEDR system. Even the undulation of landform can be differed from the sound.

From Week1 to Week2 First week： Round, Simple and Sharp as the main axis, and try to visualize the relationship between the other vocabulary and the three. But some of the first week vocabulary is based on subjective perception, and being too abstract For example: Friendy, Confident. There are also some vocabulary that is not precise enough, and the form can not be defined clearly. Such as: Consistency, Characteristic.
Second week: Replacing the unsuitable terms to more concrete, precise ones. Visually defining the exact meaning of each term by outlining the car body (shape, line, surface) and comparing with Lexus which has the great differences in style.

第一週時在挑選語彙時以Round, Simple跟Sharp 為主軸，並試著把其他語彙跟三者的關係做出視覺上的關聯。 但第一週的語彙有部分著墨於過於抽象的觀感形容， 例如：Friendy, Confident， 亦有部分語彙不夠精準無法明確定義出造型上的意義， 像是：Consistency, Characteristic。 在第二週時便用更具象、精準的語彙替換上週四個不適合的語彙。同時定義出每個語彙的確切意涵。 藉由勾勒出與會在車身上所呈現的樣貌，並和風格差異極大的Lexus作比較來圖像化所有語彙

Accord Steady Smooth Accurate Dynamic
Sharp(銳利), Simple(簡單), Straghtforward(直) 是VW最重要的三個語彙，而Round有著呼應logo與延續老VW 意象的意涵，雖然近年來整體輪廓轉為銳利，不再是核心語彙 ，但仍有著基礎幾何上的重要性(跟Sharp同為最具象的語彙)。 綜合以上幾點，便把圓放於首位、列為主軸。 Accord(一致), Steady(沈穩), Smooth(平) 在外觀上也有一定的重要性。Accord描述出了線條的規則， Steady道出線條造型上的意象，Smooth說明出面與面間的關係。 而Accurate(精準)算是由功能影響到造型上的補述。 Dynamic(動感)同樣是線條所帶出造型上的意象， 看似與Steady(沈穩)相互矛盾，但兩者和諧共存。 Steady是整體而言；Dynamic是點綴， 畢竟是車，再沈穩，還是不能沒有動感意象

VW speedform 福斯概念速度造型 VW’s appearance is extremely calm and low-key. Its curves and surface is really stable, compared to Lexus and BMW's streamlined "flaming surface”. Speedform doesn’t seem to have something to do with VW, so I try to imagine how VW’s speedform would look like. VW的外型極為沈穩，線條、曲面穩健，相較於Lexus與BMW的奔放跳躍流線曲面 speedform與VW似乎沒有關係，是想像若VW有speedform會如何呈現

A hair dryer / vacuum cleaner designed for water sports enthusiasts. Solving surfers’ problems through the modular design (ex. wet hair during low temperature, drying clothes and cleaning sand on car. Filtering pm2.5 particles effectively through the HEPA filter. The air blowing out through the heating barrel is even cleaner than the air been inhaled into the vacuum. Designed using the recent design language of Volkswagen R-Line, GTI series. Younger customers and outdoorers. Creating en exclusive VW in-car appliance.
