Pilot RMG 658 7. Pilot RMG 658 electro-pneumatic pilot The pilot RMG 658 consists of functional elements which are combined onto a main base plate: 1st stage automatic load limiting stage 2nd stage control stage for the minimal outlet pressure pa min 3rd stage control stage for the maximal outlet pressure pa max 4th stage electro-pneumatic control stage for conversion of electric signals into pneumatic signals The pneumatic pressure stages automatically check the given minimal and maximal values of the outlet pressure. If those max. values are reached during operation, the relevant stages take over control and hold the pressure constant within the given limits. The switching between the electronic control (operated by the electro-pneumatic control stage) and the outlet pressure restriction through the pneumatic control stages runs independantly and smoothly in both directions without any noticeable transition effects. Following tasks are possible between the min. and max. pressure limits: • setpoint adjustment - for a quick adapation of the setpoint to often changing operational conditions - for combining the regulator into a process control system • flow regulation - for gas storage in tube networks and tanks (optimization) - for meter protection • pressure regulation - combined with meter protection through flow limitation to qB max - with timer for daily/weekly programme for pressure control - to reach a better control accuracy and control stability through an electronic PI-regulation approved by DIN-DVGW in combination with RMG main valves, the pilot is part of the complete device according to EN 334 control stage pamax load limiting stage
