Flame Arresters are used as secondary protection against explosions by preventing the transmission of flame and explosion transfer in machines, equipment and plant, containing inflammable gas or steam-air mixtures of inflammable liquids. According to the European standard 94/9/EC they are autonomous protective systems which reduce the results of explosions to a safe limit. The development and construction of RMG Flame Arresters is based on the proven and reliable principle of the „Flame Extinguishing Gap“. This principle is enacted by dry flame barriers which are made of metal foils (stainless steel as standard) with a defined gap width, in various configurations, depending on the process requirements. Specially trained and skilled technicians, working with high accuracy equipment, ensure a repeatable and accurate gap width in the metal foils. Modern measuring technology and controlled documentation guarantees consistency for this safety related characteristic. Test certificates are available for all products in addition to prototype test certification. The compliance of RMG Flame Arresters with European Standard 94/9/EC is certified by EC prototype test certificates, issued by an approved notified body e.g. BAM, IBExU. As an approved manufacturer of pressure containing devices, we are also able to produce Flame Arresters to higher customer specification. Our Company has been certified to DIN ISO 9001 since 1994 and our quality administration systems, for the production of Flame Arresters have been assessed and approved by the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung Berlin. An appropriate certificate confirms this high standard of compliance.
