From the President Jason Horner Where has this year gone? The biggest holidays of the year are already upon us along with some of our biggest events. Air & Auto 6 was another huge success and I cannot thank George Michaels and his fantastic team for putting on such a grand event. A huge thanks to all the sponsors and vendors who also helped making this event happen and again to all the volunteers, to which if not for them, this event could not take place, a very special thanks to all of them. Not only was there plenty of eye candy to gawk at (Porsches (“Jason Horner - President, First Settlers Region”) and other autos), along with great food and beverages, but we were able to raise money for two great charities, the Foodbank and the SPCA. I would again like to thank Kate and Steve Sarfaty for hosting our autumn social event to meet and greet FSR’s newest members. our new member socials are a great time to not only meet new members, but also to just hang out, relax, and catch up all while enjoying some great food and beverages. I had the pleasure of meeting and introducing 13 new and associate members. Again thanks to everyone who came out to help welcome our newest members and an even bigger thanks for those who volunteered in setting up and cleaning up after this event we could not do events like this without the selfless giving of your time. I am truly sorry if you missed this one and hopefully you can attend our next. I hope many of you will join me at our Turkeys in the Trunk charity event and witness the many different ways our members stuff their beloved Porsche with so many turkeys and other food items. Thanks in advance to everyone who either donated food or cash to help us help support the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia with their mission to provide food to the less fortunate local families so that they too may enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving. Nominations for our elected positions is now over and I would like to thank our nominating committee Brian Faulkner, Jerry Burks, and Brian Bremenstul for reaching out to everyone who was nominated for a board position and to all those members who have been so kind to accept their nomination. you will soon receive an email with the final list of nominees along with their bios and instructions on how to cast your vote. Priscilla and I would like to wish everyone a joyous Thanksgiving. May you and your loved ones savor all that is rich...may the festivities come alive with the cornucopia of hope, faith and goodwill and as the turkey, scrumptious pies, freshly brewed cider, vegetables and fruits galore and golden baked goodies align the table and as the toast to Thanksgiving is raised, let us take a moment to reflect and be thankful to the lord for all that we have been so abundantly blessed with and also to spare a thought for those not so lucky. It is a season of bountifulness and a reason to share the same ....true Thanksgiving is in actually doing that – Giving.

******************************************* THE MOTORBOOKS STORY 1965: BORN IN A GARAGE It’s only fitting that Motorbooks story begins in a garage. The year was 1965, and North America was in dire need of quality car, motorcycle, and racing books. luckily for gearheads, a transplanted englishman and lifelong car guy named Thomas Warth took it upon himself to feed the need.
TrackKeeper is a live online -at the track- schedule, compatible with all current smart phones, tablets and other web devices. No more missed announcements or lost paper schedules. TrackKeeper is always available online during track (“The TrackKeeper App coming soon!”) days and is always up to date with the latest schedule changes. The De Committee still plans on having announcements and paper schedules available; however,TrackKeeper is a high tech, easy way to make sure you are always up-to-date.
HoRIzoNTAlly oPPoSeD
As with any beta software release, this is not the final version of the web app. Suggestions for changes were received and implemented during the fall HPDe event, and the suggestions box is still accepting inputs to be incorporated for our next event.
From the stalls of his humble Minneapolis, Minnesota, garage, Warth launched a modest automotive book mail-order business selling transportation tomes, many of them imported from england. Thus was born Classic Motorbooks. In 1973, Classic Motorbooks began publishing its own books, which it made available alongside those from leading transportation publishers around the world. This move put Motorbooks in the driver’s seat, allowing it to define the best books for enthusiasts and then engage the motoring world’s best photographers and writers to create them—an approach that continues to this day.

Besides our award-winning writers and shooters, we also partner with some of the biggest names in the business, like Chevrolet, Ford, Hot Rod and Cycle World magazines, Dodge, and SRT—all to give us access to the best stories and the coolest photography. Alongside its own titles, Motorbooks continues to offer the best books from the other premier transportation publishers, fine-tuned exclusively for the enthusiast by gearheads who are just as obsessed as you are. For 50 years, Motorbooks has embraced the gearhead life. If it has wheels, we dig it.

(“Fred sharing his People's Choice award with some friends”)
The “Classics on the Green” is a premier concours hosted annually by Classic Automotive events of Virginia, Inc., in conjunction with the Central Virginia British Car Club at the New Kent Winery just east of Richmond. It attracts some of the most spectacular automobiles with a european flair from all over the Mid-Atlantic region. This year the theme was “Cars you Never Knew existed” - which is why it’s noteworthy that our own Fred Donnell won the People’s Choice Award!! A great accomplishment considering the number of very special cars parked in the grass. Well done, Fred!

This year the event coincidently conflicted with the First Settlers fall Driver’s education event but we still had a great showing at both events. We had 33 cars registered for the event though not all entered the concours. It was a great day and everyone had a great time. (“2012”)

A special thanks to Mark and Wendy Hiby for taking the lead and hosting the First Settlers tent to make everyone feel welcome. It’s always best to have a friendly face to meet and talk to when you arrive!

MERRY MEMORIES REALIZED: ANATOMY OF A DRAGON
Then I took VA94 back to Fort Chiswell and VA 121 and VA610 back to Wytheville.
-ed Merry
Marion loop, South: The next day, after a very good breakfast at the Holiday Inn express, I headed on I-81 South to Marion. Then I drove south toward US-58 on VA 16. This road skirts the side of Mount Rogers, the highest mountain in VA at 5729 feet, and is quite twisty. Very twisty, in fact. I think VA16 should be put high on our twisty road list.
Many Porsche owners have heard of the "Tail of the Dragon" that is US129 between Robbinsville NC, passing through Neal's Gap to Tallassee, TN. From Neal's Gap to Tallassee is 11 miles and 318 curves. This road was made famous in an article in Road and Track magazine in the 1980s . Further, the famous Formula 1 driver, Michael Schumacher, raced a speed bike across it and set a standard that many young men seek to top. The result is a lot of bikers and some sports cars driving this ultra twisty road, especially on weekends. This road is considered the curviest in America.
The “Twistiest” Segment: US-58 at Troutdale heading west to VA 600 is about 11 miles of the best twisty road I have found in VA. Not sure what to call it, but it is a worthy competitor to the Tail of the Dragon. I would call it VVT for Very, Very Twisty. Finally I drove back to Wytheville, on VA600 to Chilhowie and then I-81 to Wytheville. Another very good day in a Porsche.
I have driven the “Tail of the Dragon” several times during trips to visit family in Georgia. A wonderful day trip starts at Robbinsville, then drives the Dragon. At Tallassee, TN go over to Tellico Plains, TN. Have lunch and then drive back to Robbinsville via the Cherohala Skyway. A very scenic as well as twisty road much like the Skyline Drive in VA. one side trip as you start this Skyway in TN is the Bald River Falls road. To properly do this loop will take almost all day but wonderful in a Porsche.
Bland loop: The last day, I drove North east loop from Wytheville toward VA100 north of Dublin, VA. I took I-77 north to VA717. At first I was a bit disappointed but as I kept going, VA717 got better and better. This is a very scenic, paved country road winding along a beautiful valley. Included were 6 or 8 one lane wooden bridges. Then I drove briefly north on VA100 and took VA-42 back west toward I-77 at the town of Bland. I treated myself with US-52 South from Bland to Wytheville to enjoy this twisty mountain road again. Wonderful!
But there is a problem; from my house to Robbinsville is over 500 miles and takes a full 8 hours drive to complete. I wondered if there was a closer alternative. Then I began hearing about something closer called the "Claw of the Dragon." It is a set of five loops starting and ending at Wytheville, VA. Plus Wytheville is only 320 miles from my home. I suspect the travel bureau of Wytheville and the neighboring counties are trying to get bikers and sports cars and business similar to Neal's Gap.
First Settlers Member since?1990???(not real sure) What kind of Porsche(s) do you drive? 2016 Club Coupe What other Porsche's have you owned in the past? 914, several 911's, 928, 924, 930, 944 and 996

What keeps you in PCA? Although my jobs have not allowed me to be too involved with our region, it is the Porsche friends I have met through the years. "THe PeoPle"
What is your first Porsche memory? Dr. leonard Turners silver 904 at a Ferrari Club of America meeting in Atlanta early 1970. With all those fantastic Prancing Horses the 904 stood out like a rare gem.

What is your favorite personal car-related story? Visiting the Porsche factory in 1976 right after watching Porsche win le Mans with the 936 Martini sponsored car...The car was featured at the entrance of the old museum (a very small (“Alex and Amy llorente in the Spotlight”) tightly packed room in the factory). Also while at the factory I stumbled into a 928 test mule and an early pre-production 924....I failed to read the "eingang Verbotten" signs.....I never claimed to read German

It was a wonderful several days of Porsche driving. Unfortunately, it rained off and on the first two days and the Blue Streak got really dirty especially from dirt running down on the paved road. I found there is No hand spray car wash in Wytheville but I did get some of it off at a foam automatic car wash. To be sure I really sprayed her down thoroughly and dried her off before presenting the Blue Streak at the Porsche Platz at VIR.
So I decided to take a brief sabbatical and check it out. I recently spent several days in Wytheville then I drove home stopping for the IMSA Tudor race at VIR, 21-23 August. It was a wonderful get away. As a bonus, Porsche won on both Saturday's Continental 250 and Sunday's “oak Tree” Grand Prix. Porsche's Saturday victory was unexpected and was a surprise birthday present for me. But let's talk about twisty roads around Wytheville, VA.
A Virginia map or the map included with this article will help a lot in understanding those wonderful days. I definitely plan to go back to the Claw of The Dragon again. Drive Safe!
Bastian loop: My first excursion was the North West loop, called the Bastian loop. I left Wytheville on US-52 North crossing one mountain range almost 4,000 feet high. Then the loop follows alongside I-77 to the town of Bastian. I would describe this segment as Very Twisty or "VT". Just North of Bastion, I followed the Claw off the Dragon loop and took VA 614, called the Grape fields Rd, to VA 61 heading to Tazewell. After a late lunch in Tazewell, I took VA16 back south to Marion. Wonderful and quite twisty. you actually cross three mountain ranges on VA16. VA16 here is very worthy of the Blue Streak (my Cayman R). Then I headed back to Wytheville on I-81. Wytheville loop: That evening I took the shorter loop just south of Wytheville. It started with US-52 North again and then went west on VA 680. A good twisty road flowing through a scenic valley. Below Rural Retreat, VA, I drove south to VA 749 at Cedar Springs. VA 749 was wonderful (I guess I'll say that word quite a few more times). But instead of going all the way on VA749/VA619 to VA94 at Ivanhoe, VA, I headed further south crossing another mountain range from Cripple Creek, VA on VA 602 to VA 94. All good paved roads and quite twisty. Again I had to slow up for several flocks of turkeys crossing the road.

ALMOST PERFECT By ed Merry
What’s precious to you is precious to us.
That is what you call a sunny Saturday tour with some neat twisty roads especially chosen for Porsches, lots of camaraderie, and a tour at the end of one of the most famous mansion in Colonial America. For 26 Porsches and 46 members, this was the First Settler's Region Fall Fun Run. Afterward, most agreed it was almost perfect. It began with a robust breakfast at Victoria's in Williamsburg. After a driver's meeting which stressed safety and each car getting a handout with instructions and confirming landmarks, the Porsches broke into groups of about 8 cars and headed weST. The route was about 56 miles long with over 40 miles of Porsche curves.

Berkeley was the home of our 9th president: William Henry Harrison. Dating from 1726, Berkeley hosted George Washington as well as the first nine presidents. It is a great example of the Georgian style of architecture with over ten acres of formal boxwood gardens. Berkeley is furnished in the period of President Harrison with numerous exquisite antiques. History abounds at Berkeley. on December 4th, 1691, early settlers from england came ashore at Berkeley and observed the first official Thanksgiving in the “New World”. This event was almost a full year before the Mayflower pilgrims celebrated their Thanksgiving in Massachusetts. The Berkeley Plantation was the headquarters for the Federal Army during the Civil War in 1862. The famous evening bugle call known as "Taps" was composed here in 1862. The Berkeley Plantation can properly be called America's most historic plantation.

A special thanks goes to Jim and Diane liedman plus Jim McCormack for checking the route. Thanks to Bret Jacobson with the administration. Finally, ed Merry, lauren Weber and lee eason who scouted out suitable paved twisty roads. An almost perfect day; great weather, wonderful twisty roads, a historic terminus and lots of camaraderie. Plus any day driving a Porsche is a very good day. Almost everyone enjoyed this outing except for one Boxster that had mechanical problems. This surprised us as we have come to depend on Porsche's dependability and perhaps take it for granted. So almost perfect fun run. Drive Safe!

New Member Party - Western Style
By Jim & Diane liedman
by Phil Grandfield We had a great turn out at the Sarfaty’s house for the New Member party for the Western half of the First Settlers Region. There were plenty of “old hands” in attendance and many folks made the trip from Virginia Beach, Hampton and yorktown but, most importantly, we had thirteen new members at the party!! More than twice what we expected and we ran out of Welcome Goodie Bags but what a great problem to have! Welcome to Thomas Harrison, Rob lee, Stu Burgh, Mark Israel, Dante Decapri, Kevin & Amy Clark, Tim & Nancy Wymer, Harold & Amber Singh, Gary and Barbara Retone, Jose Mera, Paul & Jen Felts, Gib & lisa DeShazo, and Chip leMaster. Special thanks to Steve and Kate Sarfaty for opening up their beautiful house and hosting this party again this year. The fall weather was inviting for the backyard party and the food was great - as usual. Thanks to everyone who came out and hope to see you at another event soon!

The Badlands loop was hot with little shade and few trees, but full of amazing and unusual rock formations and wildlife. That evening we were more than ready to celebrate my birthday at the Firehouse Brew Pub in Rapid City and share an ice cold “flight of nine beers” and a buffalo burger—a must do. on our way to Rapid City and the Central Hills we enjoyed an early wine tasting at Prairie Berry Winery-definitely worth the stop. Then after visiting Mt. Rushmore, we headed to Keystone for dinner and ran into a threesome of 996 Turbo Cabriolet (“GPS screen shot of driving the Bad lands”) folks from California checking off their bucket list. Interestingly, they were on a similar path, and we met them several times during our stay and enjoyed good car talk. That evening on our drive back to ellsworth we encountered (without mishap) a good number of our antlered friends who were a constant concern on the windy roads. The Custer State Park fun run included a visit to the Crazy Horse Memorial and a drive through the twisty Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road. These roads have narrow one-way tunnels, vertical rock formations and sheer drop offs without rails at the edge of the road. you can hear Diane squealing a few times on the videos I took with my phone attached to the windshield . Rennsport Reunion V Legends of LeMans
l u g g a g e rack. lucky me…I was going to enjoy the classic 356 sound and shape the entire way to the track! In no time, it seemed, we were making the left into the raceway, and I (“A 904 (or is it a 906 or 908...)?”) my felt excitement building. I took a selfie of my wildly excited expression and sent the image to my mom, at home in Pennsylvania & always in the mood for a picture of her son doing his favorite thing…Porsche.
By Kevin Pirkle (editor’s Note: The Rennsport Reunion is a very special event that brings the most historic Porsche’s from around the world to one location for one very special week. There were 320 registered entrants and 1400 Porsches in the Corral at laguna Seca for RRV. Almost 60,000 rabid Porsche fans turned out for the event with our own Kevin Pirkle being one of the most rabid. Thanks for the story!)
Here’s where things get really challenging. you see, upon returning, I promised Phil Grandfield an article for this newsletter, recapping the event. It’s taken me a week and one or two re-drafts to write what follows! Sure, I could write about the spectacular array of historical race cars. Sure, I could write about the series of cars beginning with the 904, 906 & 908…all leading up to the 917’s that forever won hearts and minds of Porsche enthusiasts the world over. The truth is I simply cannot do justice to what a Rennsport Reunion holds for lovers of the Porsche marque. Porsches evoke emotion, smiles, heart pumping and enthusiasm! It doesn’t matter if you are a fan of their tractors (yes, they even built tractors), their race cars or their rear, front or mid-engined street cars, Rennsport Reunion has it All! one of the racing groups had 2 Carreras that had been shipped in containers by their drivers…all the (“Driven from Virginia!!!!”) way from Australia. What’s so special about that, you ask? Have you ever seen a right hand drive mid-year Carrera? At RRV, there were two running in the same race group! everywhere I walked, my head would turn to the sound of another horizontally opposed instrument. It was a symphony. everywhere I turned was another moment to capture in a photograph. Did anything I captured do it justice? It just couldn't. The examples were far too numerous. If you have already been to a Rennsport Reunion, you know that what I’m sharing is true. If you haven’t, only one thing will suffice, and that’s being there.
every 3-4 years (2001, 2004, 2007, 2011 & 2015), we have have enjoyed a rare and coveted opportunity here in the USA to experience something unrealized anywhere else in the world. Think about that for just a moment. Not Germany. Not europe. The United States. We are So very fortunate! At infamous race tracks such as lime Rock, Daytona and laguna Seca, Porsche sponsors the holy grail gathering of Porsche racing heritage from all eras…Rennsport Reunion. September 25-27, 2015 marked the calendar for Rennsport Reunion V (RRV for short). This year was my opportunity! I made plans to arrive on Thursday afternoon. With this being my first Rennsport event, I didn’t want to miss a single thing. Travel was smooth, and upon arriving at the Monterrey airport, I was offered a Nissan Altima or a Hyundai Azera as a rental. I opted for the Azera with Nevada license plates. I didn’t really give the plates much thought until I arrived at the Seaside Holiday Inn express. There, however, I immediately met a few Californians who had also just arrived with their early 911 steeds…a ’73 Targa S, a Martini livery 911R tribute, a ’73 Carrera RS, and a beautiful 1971 Aubergine 911e. Upon expressing how jealous I was that they were able to drive to RRV, they indicated that I didn’t really have an excuse, my being from Nevada. Fortunately, they cut me a break when they learned I was all the way from Virginia… Then, just about the time I was feeling good about traveling all that way via plane, I noticed a lufteknic decal on the top of a 1970 911e windshield! yes, really...Wow! Terry and lou Ann Cave from Beaverdam near Richmond had driven all the way across the country for RRV! I registered with the early 911S Registry guys and strolled around the parking lot looking at a number of 356’s, 911’s and a couple of very interesting outlaw models before running into Terry & lou Ann by their car. As it turns out they had made it as far as oklahoma City before having difficulty with their ignition switch. Putting the word out to fellow registry folks landed them a repair at a truck stop, and Violá! They were back on the road again to RRV. Their story was incredible, and I was inspired by their adventures in their ’70 e! Psst… I’ve just learned that Terry & lou Ann used to be members of FSR. If you see them around Richmond anytime soon, please let them know we miss them and would love to have them rejoin us soon!

I’m a huge fan of the 904. So very little, however, seems to have been written about these cars, yet they are regarded by many as the most beautiful of the Porsche race cars. I believe the 904 was also the first fiberglass skinned car and last race car marketed and sold directly to the public from the factory. In 1964, when Porsche wanted to race these in FIA-GT Class, Group 3 homologation rules required that they be sold as production cars in order to race in their r e s p e c t i v e p r o d u c t i o n class. So Porsche built approximately 108 of them between 1963 & (“The newest leMans Winner”) 1965, just a handful
The next morning I popped out of bed. The sun wasn’t far behind, and I enjoyed a great breakfast before heading toward Mazda laguna Seca Raceway, home of the famous Corkscrew. I distinctly remember smiling as I pulled out into traffic behind a 356 cabriolet, top up, with a chrome HoRIzoNTAlly oPPoSeD

beyond the requirement. With so few produced, 2015 selling prices for these cars range from $1.75 Million to $2.5 Million. It’s hard to say how many of these cars even exist anymore. Now, back to the wow factor of Rennsport Reunion… I have never seen a Porsche 904 in person, much less sat in one or heard one run. At RRV, there were three! And what’s better than seeing a genuine 904? How about getting to spend 20 minutes talking to the 2nd and current owner since 1970… That was a real treat. looking over chassis 904.048 with the hood bonnet and engine compartment open would have been surreal enough, but to talk to the gentleman who has owned and raced this car for the last 45 years was just off the chart. He explained how he had replaced the quirky, original 4 cylinder engine with an engine from an early 911S. (Don’t worry, he still has the original motor, worth about $300,000 these days.) He also shared how this car was far from a garage queen, that it was a part of racing on the west coast of the US for many years until recently. I even got a detailed explanation of how the gas heater worked. The pads underneath the metal fuel tank straps were original horse hair, and the best picture I took was of the stone chips across the front of the car. This was a spectacular piece of Porsche history just riddled with additional stories from a loyal owner. Where else but Rennsport Reunion can one find something this good? Keep looking…it won’t be easy to find.

Reunions bring f a n t a s t i c people along with their cars. From FSR, we had Chris Stanley, John & Gina Schwaebler, and Andrew Chisholm. (For anyone else who was in attendance from FSR, please accept my apology…I simply didn’t run into you.) (“917!!!”) There were also some former FSR members in attendance, Ray & Georgia Hamilton and James & lori Pfeiffer. It was just fantastic to run into Andrew…we talked more at RRV than we had in months. It was great to catch up surrounded by the sounds and happenings of Rennsport. Saturday evening was great too… Ray invited me to dinner near his and Georgia’s new home. I joined them along with the Schwaeblers, the Pfeiffers & Chris Stanley for a wonderful dinner at The Beach House Restaurant in Pacific Grove…lots of fun and laughs! Although Sam Gassel wasn’t there in person, a part of him certainly was…his old #6 Sunoco Penske car was running loud and proud on track all three days! RRV also brings with it visits from celebrities and icons of motorsport as well. Although I didn’t personally see or meet him, Jerry Seinfeld was in attendance (a huge Porsche fan), and professional/legend drivers included Patrick long, Derek Bell, Joerg Bergmeister, Hurley Haywood & Brian Redman! I even ran into one of my mechanical engineering classmates from lehigh University, the editor in Chief of Road and Track magazine, larry Webster (another frequent flyer at VIR). (“Close enough to touch!”)
What about the rest of the cars? Seriously… seemingly every car in the history of Porsche is at Rennsport Reunion. It’s beyond Thunder Dome. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Gmund Coupe, a 356, a 718, 906, 908, 935, 962 or a GT1. A huge display of approximately 50 different models was on display in the Chopard Heritage Display tent, and every garage in pit row had model after model of running cars on display, including the current GT3 RSR and the overwhelmingly stunning RS Spyder and 2015 919 models. The list of eye candy was endless. If you’ve dreamt of seeing the real deal in person, this is quite simply the place to do it. IMSA racing even held a GT3 Cup Challenge Series race at this event. No other event puts you in front of the complete history of the marque like this one. Far from being a car show, however, these cars were part of practices daily, culminating on the 3rd day with actual races. yes, this was a race weekend to boot!
So what’s the ultimate allure of a Rennsport Reunion? It’s an overwhelming array of feelings, emotions and sensory overload for Porsche history lovers that cannot be fully realized at a local launch event for a new model…even something as spectacular as the new GT3 or 918. Just think of any Porsche dealership, club race, or car club event to which you’ve been. That’s right…give it some thought. Close your eyes and think of any cool exhaust note you’ve heard. Now… multiply that sensory experience by 1000 at the bare minimum! Rennsport Reunion is impossibly fantastic… If you think Rennsport is just a race, or just a concours, or just a bunch of car guys getting together to talk about the good old days or the new Rennsport Reunion edition of the 991, think again. It’s actually Porschetopia, and of everything I’ve ever been to in my entire life, Rennsport Reunion is by the longest shot, the single most phenomenal and historically significant Porsche event I’ve attended. If it’s not on your bucket list, it should be. Make plans. Accrue the funds. you’ll be glad you did. For now, we all just have to restart the 4 (“A rare steed indeed!”) year countdown.
Need parts for a restoration? look no further than a Rennsport Reunion to put you face to face with the leaders in parts supply, restoration & expertise. Ron Thomas of Aase Motors was in attendance driving the #64 Aase Motors car, and I had the opportunity to meet both Ron and his parts manager, Bryce. Both of these guys have helped source a number of items for my ’73 911T, so it was great to meet them in person. It was also great to meet Stefan Schleissing, who built a set of houndstooth Sport S seats for me last year. At the early911S Registry 25th Anniversary dinner, Andrew Chisholm and I even met a vintage Porsche restoration specialist, Mark Allen, owner of Vintage excellence in San Diego. Mark was very helpful in m a k i n g recommendations for setting up the new garage that John Schwaebler of J&S Builders is building for me to disassemble and restore my ’73.

beyond the requirement.

Mark was very helpful in m a k i n g recommendations for setting up the new garage that John Schwaebler of J&S Builders is building for me to disassemble and restore my ’73.

l u g g a g e rack. lucky me…I was going to enjoy the classic 356 sound and shape the entire way to the track!

The destination was Berkeley Plantation overlooking the James River. This destination was chosen for the ladies but is a great location for anyone with an interest in American history.

Drive Safe!

First Settlers Region Website: Winners Again!!! The FSR website has been on the podium at the Parade Awards for the past six years. Six years!!!! After a class win in 2010, the first year we really went for a win, First Settlers has been the Region to beat in the website competition. After a string of a few 2nd place finishes, Marco estrada and Kathy Thomas pulled out all the stops and are standing on the top step of the podium again in 2015. Congratulations!!!!
A special thanks to Mark and Wendy Hiby for taking the lead and hosting the First Settlers tent to make everyone feel welcome. It’s always best to have a friendly face to meet and talk to when you arrive!
