Tameside is a metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, it is named after the River Tame, which flows through the borough and spans the towns of Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Hyde, Mossley and Stalybridge. It’s approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Manchester city centre, it borders Derbyshire to the east, and has easy access routes to The Peak District National Park.
Tameside is served by 13 railway stations and work has recently been completed on the Manchester Metrolink costing ÂŁ260m.
Ashton has had a market for over 700 years and was an important market centre for the surrounding area. This is still one of the attractions of the town, with its large Victorian Market Hall and open air market being open six days a week, plus a monthly Farmers' Market. The town developed into a major shopping venue for the area. Stamford Street, the Victorian shopping area, boasts a range of interesting specialist shops. Close to the town centre is IKEA, Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencer.

This development is a contemporary design to maximise family spaces for town centre living.
All homes have been built with a strong emphasis on reducing the running costs through energy efficiency. Each property is of timber frame construction and has; a highly efficient boiler which along with highly insulated walls, roof and floors can reduce heating and running costs by up to 25%. Rotary dryers and drying areas are provided to houses to reduce the need for tumble dryers in the summer months.
Kitchens and bathrooms are designed to reduce the amount of water used in the home to help keep bills down. The kitchens are designed so the residents can fit their own appliances in, with cooker points and plumbing ready for washing machines.
All of the homes achieve the Secure by Design certification issued by the police which requires fencing to the rear of properties as well as a boundary to front gardens. Doors and windows have to achieve the relevant BS standards and have locking mechanisms that are required by all household insurers. All homes will have a very bright and airy feel. Through the architecture we have looked to deliver properties which people will fall in love with.
