Difficult times ahead for all

September was a very sad month for most people with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II but what an outpouring of emotions that were felt around the whole world. She epitomised service and as she was the only monarch that most of us knew, we are all facing a changing future as she was regarded so highly and as a conscience by most World Leaders. As she did, King Charles 111 is inheriting not only the monarchy issues and what should change in the Royal Family, but also a place as a major figure in World leaders. We wish him every success in the challenge.

Unfortunately the continuing evil illegal assault on Ukraine by Russia is another distressing factor in the world, affecting everyone on the planet in some way.

In addition, the troubles that the people of the UK and businesses in our sectors have been worrying about continued to increase in intensity and the recent “minibudget” has only served to make us consider whether the measures will be judged to be a master stroke or yet another nail in the coffin. Time will tell.

Inflation continues to be a continuing concern for the UK with people and businesses concerned about interest rates and raging inflation fuelled by food and energy costs. They do say that out of adversity the best run businesses are the ones that survive and prosper the most.

We finally managed to get a week away down on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall and it was great to see St Ives and the South West so busy and food places working very hard to satisfy the locals and tourists alike. Finally, I would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who continues to support Fast Food Professional magazine in these very challenging times. Your loyalty does not go unnoticed here.

Pukka Highlights Unique Opportunity to Drive

Bumper Pie Sales During Football this Winter

The nation’s number one pie brand, Pukka, tells us how fish & chip shops can take advantage of a unique opportunity to bag bumper pie sales, as key international football matches fall during prime pie eating season. Fast Food Professional Director, Athol Dipple, takes a closer look.

Britain is a nation of food lovers, which means that whatever the occasion – big or small – food is at the heart of celebrations, and sport is no exception. Therefore, as we approach the 20th November, where people up and down the country will be getting ready to cheer on their national football team, fish & chip shops should start preparing now to make the most of the sales rush.

Not only do pies and football go hand-in-hand, but this year presents an extraordinary sales opportunity as some of the most-watched and highly-anticipated football games are happening in the winter months – AKA prime pie eating season. Pukka’s Managing Director, Isaac Fisher, describes this as a “unique sales opportunity not to be missed” for the fish & chip shop industry, as two key pie consumption moments intertwine.

“Cheering on the Three Lions during winter isn’t something we’re used to – but we’re certainly not complaining! We know that while our pies are enjoyed all year round, there is a particular preference for them during the colder months. In fact, pie sales increased +14% during autumn / winter last year . And when you also consider that during the international matches of summer 2021, sales spiked +25% , there is no better time to get prepped for a huge influx of customers.”

Fish & chip shops have been Pukka’s heartland ever since it baked its first pie in 1963. Therefore, the brand is arming chippy owners with the tools they need to make

the most of this unique opportunity.

Fisher explains: “Firstly, offering a complete line-up of pies is vital, so that you have something for everyone. As The People’s Pie – and the nation’s favourite – our comprehensive range can help you do just that. Fish & chip shops can maximise the opportunity even further by utilising click & collect and home delivery services – to give their customers an easy way to order their pie & chips meal pre-game, post-game or during halftime. They should also harness the power of their social media channels to advertise these services to their local communities.

Fisher adds: “We ran a campaign during lockdown in which we offered chip shops geo-targeted social media advertising to help them shout about the services they have available. We know this tactic works, because chip shop businesses saw a +32% increase in pie sales during the week the social ads were live , compared with the previous week.

“There’s also plenty of resources available on our foodservice website – including our Heat & Serve Guide, Social Media Toolkit and bespoke POS – which will help you to drive engagement and generate sales growth even further. We’d urge all chip shop owners to take advantage of the materials we have available to drive visibility during international football games this winter,” concludes Fisher.

Simpsons Fish & Chips Launch Chippy Tapas

Award-winning Simpsons Fish and Chips, are launching a brand-new Chippy Tapas menu in their Cheltenham restaurant

The menu offers 11 different dishes to choose from as well as four flavours of the taste sensation that is battered chips and two dessert options. Diners can choose three small plates for £15 or five for £20.

Available in the award-winning Cheltenham restaurant from 29th August, the Chippy Tapas reflects the Simpsons style of creating a twist on the traditional, with some chip shop favourites sitting alongside some deliciously different dishes.

Owner Bonny Ritchie said: “We’ve been working on this new menu for a while and we’ve had a lot of fun doing it. Everyone has got involved and we love the variety that it brings. The small plates are perfect for sharing and who

doesn’t love eating great tasting food with friends and family?”

The menu includes Crispy Cod Goujons with the Simpsons signature homemade Tartare Sauce, Battered Squid, Whitebait or Scampi with Tubby Toms Lemon & herb mayo, Prawns with sweet chilli sauce, Halloumi with Baconnaise and Thai Spiced Fishcake with chill dip. Vegan options include Vegan Sausage with ketchup, Vegan Jackfruit Wings with Tubby Toms jalapeno mayo, Minted Pea Fritter and the ever-popular Frickles with a top-secret seasoning.

Those craving a sweet finish won’t be disappointed with a choice of Battered Pineapple Ring served with a drizzle of chocolate and coconut ice cream or Simpsons Sticks, light and fluffy churros served with a dusting of cinnamon and salted caramel ice cream.

Top 40 finalists announced for Fish & Chip Takeaway of the Year 2023

After a rigorous judging process, 40 fish and chip eateries across the UK have been shortlisted as category finalists. Judging criteria included having to demonstrate high levels of knowledge of the Fish & Chip industry including customer service, and environmental and sustainably good practices.

This category looks to celebrate the Fish and Chip Takeaway of the Year.

Commenting on the top 40 shortlist, Andrew Crook, President at The National Federation of Fish Friers said: “Being able to announce the top 40 finalists for this category is an absolute pleasure. It is no secret that the industry is facing some challenges.

“That said, this industry is built upon British stoicism. And with spirit and determination we are committed to supporting our members and seeing through tough times. We cannot wait to celebrate at

the awards ceremony in February 2023.”

The National Fish and Chip Awards has been celebrating the nation’s favourite dish for more than 30 years, recognising and rewarding the people and businesses who provide us with the best fish and chips across the UK, both in terms of food and service.

The National Federation of Fish Friers is proud to have been passed over the baton from Seafish as custodians of this prestigious event, hosting the inaugural awards at the Park Plaza Hotel in London on the 28th February 2023.

The winner will be unveiled at the Awards Ceremony held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on the 28th of February 2023

13 September 2022 - The National Fish and Chip Awards has announced the top 40 entries for the Fish and Chip Takeaway of the Year category

The Class of ’54

Fish and Chips have long been recognised as Britain’s National dish, no more so than in the 1950’s. In the Class of ’54 there were over 30,000 Fish and Chip shops serving the Country’s only take away food. The primary fare was cod or haddock and chips, fried initially in animal fats, principally dripping and lard. The average price for a medium portion of cod and chips was one shilling (5p in today’s currency) and Friday night was the most popular night for the take away treat. In 1954 the market changed dramatically with the launch of Frymax vegetable oil. Unlike the high level of saturated fat and cholesterol in animal fats, Frymax was pure white premium palm, which had a higher smoke point, was additive free, contained no hydrogenated oil and less than one per cent trans fats. Frymax produced delicious light results and soon became the industry favourite and has remained so until today, the same product with the same consistent results.

‘Big Truffle in Little China’ as Bath restaurant wins Heinz Battle of the Burger competition

In celebration of National Burger Day in August, Kraft Heinz Foodservice began the search to find Britain’s best burger with its Heinz Battle of the Burger competition and has now crowned Magu Diner in Bath as the winner

KraftHeinz Foodservice, which judged entries based on overall appearance, creativity, and quality, was thoroughly impressed with the restaurant’s ‘Big Truffle in Little China’ burger. Szechuan-coated buttermilk chicken was topped with Heinz [Seriously] Good Truffle Mayonnaise, a honey, ginger, spring onion and coriander Chinese leaf slaw and Heinz Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce packed into a potato bun.

The campaign encouraged independent burger restaurants to be imaginative in creating the ultimate fast-food favourite whether it be a meaty masterpiece or plant-based patty of perfection. Chefs were invited to unfurl their flair to produce a unique and delicious menu item that used at least one Heinz sauce in its original form, for a chance to be named the country’s best and win a marketing package worth £5,000.

Charlotte Crane, junior brand manager at Kraft Heinz Foodservice, says: “The UK is a nation of burger lovers, eating 2.5 billion of them per year. And we all know that key to a burger’s success is that final flourish of sauce. We wanted burger houses to get creative with this winning yet versatile combination.

“Huge congratulations to Magu Diner for an excellent interpretation of the brief which delivered on excitement, innovation and most importantly, a knockout variety of flavours. Kraft Heinz Foodservice is thrilled to be working with the team to get Big Truffle in Little China on its menu for diners to sink their teeth into it in the coming months.”

Magu Diner, which opened in Bath city centre in 2018, prides itself on being a gourmet burger bar which serves ‘out-of-this-world’ burgers. It’s where smashed beef patties and plant-based versions are right at home smothered in unconventional flavours - think peanut and pecan butter paired with a popular biscuit spread.

Head chef and owner of Magu Diner, Leon Dunnett explains the decision to enter the competition. He said: “National Burger Day is always busy for us, and we believe that we serve the tastiest ones in town - we go all-out when it comes to quality and flavour. We love experimenting with Heinz sauces, so the Heinz Battle of the Burger competition was a fun way to push ourselves more, with the aim to verify our claim that our burgers are the best.

“The inspiration for Big Truffle in Little China comes from a love of east-meets-west fusion - two opposites marrying together to make something really special. Plus, I adore anything with truffle in.”

Leon adds: “We are so excited and happy to have won! Working closely with Kraft Heinz Foodservice is going to be a gamechanger for us and the team is so thankful to be working with a brand that is much-loved and highly respected by us and our customers too. We look forward bringing Big Truffle in Little China to our menu and diners soon.”

Over the coming weeks, Magu Diner and Kraft Heinz Foodservice will team up to create the promotional activity for the winning burger, which will be available at its Moorland Road restaurant for a limited time only following its launch. Heinz will be supporting with a marketing plan worth £5,000 which will go towards merchandise and instore visibility, PR and social media promotion.

The Class of ’88

By the late 1980’s the British public’s food tastes had become cosmopolitan with considerable growth in Indian and Chinese takeaway’s and gourmet food ranges in supermarkets. Nevertheless Fish and Chips still remained the Nation’s favourite takeaway with the Class of ‘88 numbering around 15,000 shops. They were attracting a more diverse range of customers who were paying around £1.60 - £2.00 for medium cod and chips. Greaseproof paper was introduced and newspaper for wrapping phased out on hygiene grounds. A BSE outbreak also resulted in many shops switching from animal fats to vegetable oils for frying.

By 1988, Frymax was still the number one brand. It was exactly the same product as on launch with no additions or modifications and remained pure white palm which is additive free, contains no hydrogenated oil and less than 1% trans fats. Frymax guaranteed consistently good results and long lasting performance without deterioration in quality and had become firmly established as the Fryers Favourite.

Something that would stand out – or more precisely something that would be able to blend in. Blend in with the rest of the McWhinney’s range and not be identifiable as a gluten free product. It is estimated that 1 in 100 people in the UK suffer from Coeliac Disease but as much as 10% of the population are intolerant and eat a gluten free diet. It has been a sad fact that much of the gluten free food on the market has been a compromise for those who were forced to eat it – Kevin set out to change that.

So, after another rigorous period of trial, error and development, McWhinney’s Sausages is proud to introduce its new Gluten Free Sausage. When asked about the Gluten Free Sausage Kevin said:

Kevin McWhinney was raised on the family’s famous secret recipe Premium Sausages. He was able (and known) to make light work of a plateful until a couple of years ago when he received the news that he suffered from Coeliac Disease and would have to give up gluten and his beloved sausages for the good of his health. Kevin, determined as ever, set about to make a sausage he could safely enjoy. As if that wasn’t enough of a task he decided that he would make a replica of the famous Premium recipe that he had enjoyed for all those years.

It took many months and many failed attempts but eventually it was created: a Gluten Free Sausage that was so close as to be nearly identical. Unfortunately the story doesn’t end there. The search for a specific flavour had an unintended side effect: that profile didn’t hold for more than a couple of months in the freezer. The team at McWhinney’s took the decision to pull it from the market as it didn’t reach the high standard customers expect and deserve from the company. It was back to the drawing board.

It quickly became obvious that that original Premium flavour was never going to be achievable in a gluten free sausage, so Kevin turned to creating something different.

“When you are a Coeliac you have a limited range of food you can eat. The majority of the foods you knew and loved before getting diagnosed are not an option any more. That is why its so important that the food you can have is high quality. Gluten Free products are, by nature, expensive given the testing requirements and procedures that have to be in place to ensure the safety of the customer but it is a price worth paying for quality. I aimed to make a product that would put the power back in the hands of those on a gluten-free diet: to a point where they can actively choose a product and not just settle for what they can get. HCE sets Paultons Park on the route to fast food efficiency

Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig World, is a family-run theme park, situated in Hampshire. Having first opened their gates in 1983, the park has seen numerous upgrades – the most recent involving a brand-new three-and-a-half-acre area called Tornado Springs. In addition to new rollercoasters, a driving school and a Cyclonator, the team at Paultons saw the development as an opportunity to expand the park’s food offering as Stephen Lorton, Commercial Director explains:

“Tornado Springs was built to complement the attractions in the rest of the park. We also recognised it was an opportunity to increase our food and beverage offering – to offer greater variety, and greater capacity. This led to the construction of the Route 83 diner.”

Head of Food and Beverage at Paultons Park, Andrew Edwards, agreed, emphasising the need to be able to handle large numbers of guests quickly:

“Everyone comes for lunch in a two-hour period, so it was really important that the design of the venue allowed us to offer the speed of service to cater for large volumes.”

The team at Paultons had a theme in mind for Route 83 – but in terms of plans for the kitchen, it was a blank canvas. After having successfully completed design and installation for a number of other venues within the park, Stephen had no hesitation to call on

the skills of HCE for this latest project:

“We approached HCE with a view to designing a kitchen which fitted in with the concept of the diner. Due to the impact of the lunch time rush, the assembly stations for the burger and hotdog lines were critical to the smooth operation of Route 83. As such, HCE spent a lot of time completing 3D drawings for us to ensure that we got the final result we required.”

Andrew highlighted that a key consideration of the design was to also focus on ease of flow, and the quality of equipment. For the team at Paultons, it was critical that the kitchen was optimised to create the most efficient workflow – from deliveries and storage at the back of the

diner, the cooking lines and hot holding in the middle, to ensuring there was enough space for the front of house staff to build orders and serve customers. The result could not have been better…

“As a lot of the equipment is state of the art and very simple to use, HCE invited us to the Welbilt demo kitchen in Guildford, where we got to fully understand how the equipment would fulfil our brief.” Some of the advanced equipment that HCE incorporated into the final design includes: Merrychef E2S high speed ovens, Merco hotholding cabinet, Frymaster fryers and Garland Clam Grills - which can cook burgers within two minutes, compared to 18 minutes on the park’s old griddles. With the concentration on speed and flow, the incorporation of touchscreen ordering systems was an obvious choice, tying the design together neatly.

Andrew and Stephen summarised their experience collaborating with HCE on the design of Route 83, with Andrew commenting:

“The final kitchen that HCE has delivered on this project is absolutely superb. What we have achieved through the summer period would not have been possible without that kitchen, which is all because of HCE. The equipment and the flow of the kitchen is second to none”

Stephen agreed and highlighted how important the HCE partnership is:

“The key benefit of working with HCE was definitely the flexibility and their understanding of exactly what we were after and what we required. I would absolutely recommend HCE. Their ability to deliver on time and per the quotation, with no surprises, made the whole process significantly easier.”

Norwegian Seafood Council Annouces New UK Director

Shewill start her position in London on Sept. 1, replacing Hans Frode Kielland Asmyhr, who has headed up the NSC’s marketing activities in the UK since September 2017.

Braathen brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked with the NSC for six years holding various international posts, including director of the NSC in China until July 2021. Since then, she returned to Norway to be head of market access and manager for its operations in Norway, is now eager to step into the new role in one of the key markets for Norwegian seafood.

Said Braathen: “I’m delighted to join the team in the UK. Working with the seafood industry is a huge privilege and I very much look forward to getting to know the market and stakeholders more closely.”

Braathen, who comes from Tromsø, holds a law degree from the University of Bergen with a specialisation in commercial law and international law of the sea. She has previous experience as a political adviser to the Minister of Fisheries and the Mayor of Tromsø Municipality.

Continues Braathen: “Over the years, the NSC has collaborated with several key industry stakeholders in the UK. I’m excited to build on these great foundations and work together with importers, distributors, retail, and foodservice alike to further strengthen the seafood partnership between Norway and the UK.

KTC Completes Switch to 100% Certified Segregated Sustainable Palm Oil

This marks the successful achievement of its 2019 pledge to make the switch to RSPO certified sustainable segregated palm oil by the end of 2022, after signing up to the RSPO Shared Responsibility Initiative. Previously, the company had offered a selection of certified sustainable options, including segregated and Mass Balance, alongside a smaller quantity of non-certified palm.

Over the last three years, KTC has been phasing out the remainder of these non-certified and lower certification (Mass Balance) palm products – replacing them with certified segregated sustainable options. To drive this transition, the company has been engaging with and educating customers on the benefits of sustainable alternatives, developing new products and proactively encouraging them to make the switch.

The multi-purpose product, which launched into the foodservice market last summer as a ‘Made by chefs, for chefs’ solution to culinary needs in professional kitchens, was put through rigorous testing by highly experienced chefs via the CGOC’s Chefs Product Endorsement Programme.

Refrigeration firm launches Energy Cost Calculator to focus on total cost of operations

As part of a wider sustainability drive, True Refrigeration has unveiled a new online tool to compare energy usage, carbon consumption and long-term operating costs of commercial refrigeration products

Leading commercial refrigeration manufacturer True Refrigeration has launched a brand new Energy Cost Calculator this month.

The new online tool allows volume food and beverage operators and commercial kitchen specifiers to compare like for like refrigeration products to calculate annual energy usage and CO2 emissions, as well as get a lifetime estimate of potential operation costs and environmental savings.

True’s Energy and Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator for Commercial Refrigeration enables users to enter the volume of units, provide data from the fridge’s energy label and submit the Kilowatt per hour (KWh) energy cost from a utility bill. They can then select from four categories of fridge units to get a calculation of annual operating costs, estimated lifetime cost and CO2 production, comparing True with other products on the market.

Once the data is submitted, users are provided with a one-page report showing which products have been compared, the estimated total running cost and energy saving for one year and over a 10-year period. The report also provides the unnecessary environmental impact equivalent of the refrigeration units compared, this is expressed as the number vehicles on the road, trees cut down or annual home energy in a graphic illustration.

Reaching boiling point: high-pressure conditions for delivery drivers linked to increased risks of road accidents

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the business infrastructure of many organisations, creating a physical barrier preventing potential clients from travelling to their establishment. In a time when the population was penned inside, many businesses in the food and drink industry opted to bring their products to the client’s doorstep. This model resulted in the number of delivery drivers on the road skyrocketing, in parallel to the ever-increasing number of online delivery orders.

Delivery drivers in the UK typically use two-wheeled transportation methods, including bikes, scooters and mopeds, placing them as some of the most vulnerable road users. Serious injury solicitors Potter Rees Dolan has investigated this changing road environment, using its expertise to highlight the potential risks that delivery drivers face when undertaking their highpressure work.

Here, we will explore how delivery drivers feel about the pressures of the job, exploring how to alleviate the causes of road accidents, and noting the ways in which road safety can be improved.

Higher pressure linked to bigger risk-taking

In 2018, University College London undertook a survey of drivers in the gig economy and their potentially heightened risk of traffic collisions. The survey looked at pressures that drivers face on a daily basis, instigated by the nature of the work - but reinforced by the organisation themselves.

Ten per cent of riders sustain an injury

The survey’s findings highlight that the rising number of delivery riders may have coincided with an elevated number of risks faced on the road. With 42% of those surveyed noting damage to their vehicle whilst working, and ten per cent reporting an injury, there is an indication that gig riders are at more risk of being involved in an accident.

Such high rates of injuries and damage to vehicles incurred whilst working indicates that organisations need to be doing more to implement safety regulations to protect their drivers. Providing better support from the outset is vital to instil safe working practices, which would reduce the need for risk-taking and driving while tired and stressed.

Two thirds of delivery drivers not given safety training or equipment

Many workers have time-sensitive work, so it is up to the employer to instate safeguarding initiatives to protect their employees. Despite this, 63% of those surveyed are not provided with safety training on managing the risks on the road. Furthermore, 65% said to have not been given any safety equipment, such as a hi-vis vest. The result of this is drivers having to take safety into their own hands, with 70% having to provide their own safety equipment.

The most common causes of accidents reported were:

• Pressure to deliver quickly

• Being distracted by delivery-related software

• Tiredness

• Taking additional risks whilst on the road to ensure that food was delivered on time

Potter Rees Dolan understands that a high-pressure working environment and additional stress from needing to meet work targets can lead to impaired mental and physical output. For drivers, this means an increased risk of being involved in a road traffic accident.

Organisations should take more responsibility

The risks of an increased delivery driver force and the need for rider protection has been called for since at least 2007, when Transport for London conducted a study into the level of support that drivers receive from hiring organisations.

The UK Government implemented a number of laws that provide legal guidelines protecting courier and food delivery drivers, named the Courier Code. This code requires a minimum level of competence for drivers, including holding a valid licence to operate a motorised vehicle. However, when prompted, 91% of food delivery drivers were not aware of the Courier Code. A further 54% of food delivery drivers did not know whether they were signed up to the Code, and a further 26% reported not being signed up.

A conclusion from the study highlights the need for greater rider safety, both in terms of the protection given to them by their hiring organisations and from awareness of this road user type by others on the road. The study, now over 15 years old, shows that this push for greater rider safety is not new - so what needs to be done to change?

Through better education, safety training and the provision of safety equipment, businesses can reduce the risk that riders face. Implementing working procedures to reduce the pressure that riders face will also benefit them greatly; this can be facilitated by opening up a dialogue involving workers, employers and the general public, to understand what is causing stress for riders, and quantify the factors that are playing the biggest role in increasing the likelihood of road incidents.

Deliveroo’s response

Following our investigation, we reached out to Deliveroo for a response. The company provided the following statement:

“We were amongst the first food delivery platforms to provide free personal accident and third-party liability insurance to all self-employed riders we work with globally. This cover is provided free of charge, and protects riders from their very first order with Deliveroo in the event of an accident or injury sustained while working. Riders are given payments for specific injuries and income support for periods when they cannot work. All riders, regardless

of vehicle type, are automatically covered when they sign up.

“In September 2021, we introduced new insurance to provide riders enhanced protection in several markets. The new insurance coverage includes earnings support for riders working regularly with the company who are unwell and unable to work for more than seven days (backdated to day one).

“This insurance also supports riders who are growing their families, by adding a market-leading lump sum payment for parents to celebrate the birth of a child. This means riders can take time off to be with their new families, and feel financially supported during this exciting time. This applies to adoptions and surrogacy births too, so it is as inclusive as possible.”

Scotland’s ‘best’ fish and chip shop casts its net for nation’s top apprentice fish frier

A fish and chip shop and restaurant which was named the best in Scotland earlier this year is casting its net across the country in a fresh search to find its first apprentice fish frier.

East Coast Fish & Chips takeaway in Musselburgh, East Lothian, was recently named the best in Scotland and one of the top 10 in the UK by The Sunday Times. It also won the title of one of the 50 best fish and chips shops in the UK for the third year running in 2022 by leading trade publication, Fry Magazine.

Backed by the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), the popular chippie has now set its sights on bringing fresh talent into the industry by creating a new 12-week apprenticeship for someone looking to kick start their career at the top end of the fish and chip industry.

The ‘East Coast Fish Frier Apprenticeship’ will offer the successful applicant a rare opportunity to get hands-on experience with one of the country’s best fish and chip shops, and visit some of its local fish suppliers to learn more about selecting the best cod, haddock and shellfish, as well as intensive training on how to prepare and cook the ultimate fish supper.

Located just two minutes’ walk from Musselburgh beach on the outskirts of Edinburgh, East Coast is owned and operated by Carlo and Katia Crolla. The Crolla family has been serving the local community for nearly 50 years. Styles may change, but great flavours, family heritage and warm, friendly service remain as important to Katia and Carlo today as they did 48 years ago.

Carlo and Katia are looking to find an apprentice fish frier who is hard working, with a friendly nature, works well within a team, copes well under pressure and ultimately shows a clear passion for the fish and chip takeaway industry.

As one of the most popular and recognisable dishes worldwide, most of us can name our favourite pizza quicker than we can dial our local takeaway.

A piping hot circle of molten cheese, quick and easy to eat, and loaded with tasty toppings, there’s a reason why pizza is one of the most popular dishes on the planet.
