Tweak menus to create tempting all-day breakfast options, suggests Central Foods
The appetite for ‘on the go and out of home’ breakfast has resumed now that staff are returning to work and students are back at university
This offers a great opportunity for fast food operators to extend their opening hours and pick up extra custom.
All-day breakfasts and brunch have become one of the key trends of the food service sector in recent years, allowing venues to extend their breakfast menus well into the afternoon and beyond.
Gordon Lauder, MD of frozen food distributor Central Foods, suggests that fast food operators could get a larger slice of the action if they conjure up imaginative breakfast dishes.
“US-style breakfasts like chicken and donuts or chicken and waffles could work well in a fast food outlet,” explains Gordon. “Try serving Golden Valley Foods breaded chicken goujons with KaterBake waffles, drizzled with syrup, or how about the Golden Valley Foods battered chicken steak burger topped with bacon and served in a donut ‘bun’?
“Offering something a bit different will make your venue stand out from the competition and attract new customers.”
Choose breakfast and brunch options with versatile ingredients that can be served in a variety of different ways throughout the day. The Golden Valley Foods range includes a wide selection of chicken products that are ideal for breakfast items but can also be served at lunch or in the evening.
Upload regular images to social media to attract those all-important likes – using relevant hashtags like #breakfast and #brunch. That way you’ll make it easier for new customers to discover your venue and try the breakfast menu.
“Breakfast has been a growing eating out and delivery occasion for some time now,” adds Gordon. “But consumers are looking for really appealing breakfast options to spend their hard-earned cash on. Be creative with a breakfast menu – it can help extend opening hours and attract new customers.”
