A Beautiful Pocket of Rural Essex Nestled in the heart of rural North West Essex is Thaxted, a beautiful Saxon town. Thaxted is well known for its wide variety of architecture such as the magnificent Guildhall dating from 1450, John Webb’s windmill, built in 1804, recently restored to working order and the Parish Church of St John. Its medieval buildings form a fantastic back drop for ‘Mill View’. The town has an abundance of shops, restaurants, pubs and other businesses whilst still maintaining its rural community atmosphere and historic personality.

It is also renowned for its social events with its connection to the Thaxted Morris Men, established in 1911 and Festival. Thaxted has several nearby preschools and has its own Primary school, Thaxted Primary with several others within the surrounding villages. The nearest Secondary School can be found just 5 miles away in nearby Dunmow. Thaxted is extremely well connected with close access to the motorway network, trains into London from neighbouring town Elsenham or from Stansted Airport.
