Cranbrook...
Imagine. Discover. Believe. Cranbrook is the first new town to be built in Devon since the Middle Ages. Built to be a self-sufficient, attractive and vibrant market town, it promises to be a thriving community designed to enhance the lives of its residents. Vital services will be delivered alongside housing. A new primary school opened for the new school term in September 2012, while a multi-purpose community building will house a doctor’s surgery, library, town council offices and a hall for activities. Ultimately there will be two primary schools, a secondary school, a new railway station on the Exeter to Waterloo line and a network of sustainable transport options including cycling routes and bus stops located no more than a few minutes walking distance from each dwelling. All of these facilities will exist in a high-quality landscape setting to include a country park that provides wetland habitat and native grasslands, public open space with play areas, a skateboard park and other recreational facilities. Uniquely, residents at Cranbrook will be served by an Energy Centre supplying them with both heat and hot water. This will be run using biomass fuel in the future. As a result residents will benefit from reduced energy bills, unlimited hot water, no boiler to maintain and no hot
water cylinder. When this is achieved, Cranbrook will be the first mass open market development in the country to provide a district heating scheme on this scale. Cranbrook is located just a few miles from the M5 and just 7 miles from the vibrant centre of Exeter. The city has an abundance of shopping, thriving nightlife, a lively cultural scene and a rich history. At the heart of the city you will find the stunning Cathedral and Cathedral Close which boasts some fine medieval architecture as well as fantastic eateries and shops. While Exeter might be ancient, it is kept young at heart thanks to plenty of bars, cafĂŠs and clubs and many exciting new developments which keep the city looking firmly to the future. Cranbrook is also just a short drive from Exeter International Airport offering flights to a number of leading domestic and international destinations.

Space4 homes Many Westbury homes are built with timber frame technology. This means a reduction of 50% in heating costs compared to an average house in the UK* making it a cosier, and more comfortable home. On the outside, your Space4 home will feature the familiar design of a Westbury home, using traditional materials such as brick, stone or render. Your property will be durable and finished to the same exceptional standard. Underneath, the hi-tech backbone creates new levels of efficiency and building rigidity. 50% lower energy bills New homes using Space4 reduce the gas usage by 59%. The new houses at Cranbrook using the District Heating System further reduce the carbon footprint over the average house in the UK. Sustainability and the environment Space4 creates a better place to live and work. Lower consumption of heating fuels helps reduce CO2 emissions, whilst the use of sustainable, recyclable materials creates less impact on the wider environment.

The overall carbon dioxide emissions for timber construction (the embodied carbon dioxide) are up to six times lower than for masonry*, and in relation to the Government's code for sustainable homes, most building elements with timber specifications largely fall into the 'A+' or 'A' rated categories compared to masonry.** Cosier to live in All new buildings have to conform to new thermal efficiency standards. But, because wood is such a good natural insulator, timber frame buildings have been exceeding these standards for years. Because of the excellent insulation of the structural shell with Space4, hand-in-hand with detailed draught proofing, the whole home heats up more quickly, without any cold areas and is cosier and more comfortable for you. Please ask one of our Sales Advisors for further information.
